My kids love coming to the dentist office because there's games to play and when they finish their appointment, they get coins for some prizes. They both do well getting their teeth cleaned and they have tv playing on the ceiling so kids can stay still. All the times I've gone, every hygienist has been friendly and makes sure with the parent if they have any questions. I have been bringing my children here for over10 years . The office used to be amazing. They had great staff , movies video games for the kids . But I'm the last 5 years starting with Covid they have had a steady decline . Tons of schedule issues . I had to take days off work just to show up and be rescheduled due to errors . This happened at least 5 times in one year . I understand everyone makes mistakes so I let that go . Recently my child had a dental emergency needing work done . I needed to be billed for 25$ and they refused . They turned away his emergency care for 25$ . I have never been to a office that would not bill such a little amount. I have had no billing issues in the past 10 years and this was the first time I asked to be billed . This office does not care about children just money . When my oldest was 3 or so, we started going to East Valley Pediatric Dentistry and over the last 8 years, we've increased business with them by adding 3 more boys to our family and their practice. Our boys range from 3-11 and all four of them LOVE this dentist office. My friends have horror stories of taking their kids to the dentist but I've never experienced that, mostly because this practice is amazing! Dr Johnson and Dr Schow have built a wonderful office - from the time you walk in to the time you leave, it's a place that feels welcoming and inviting to kids and parents. I don't usually rave about dental practices but year after year, this place continues to impress me. Also, when we first started going, we lived just down the street, about 5 minutes away. Now we're in Mesa, 25 minutes away but we still drive to Gilbert because this place is worth the time, gas and effort. Definitely do not ever be late. I couldn't get one of my 3 kids out of school in time and was about 1 minute past their deadline of being late and so they refused to see 2 out of my 3 kids. Normally a great place but I am not happy with them not being understanding see the other two kids who I already took an afternoon off from work and pulled them out of school early. Now I need to reschedule which will mean another 6 months of waiting... Very disappointed. Might start taking them somewhere else. read more

Had a wonderful experience here today; after being recommended by some friends. I brought all three of my kids who are ages three and under and I couldn't have been happier. I was especially nervous about my 2 1/2 year old who is very sensitive and cries a lot, but the hygienists and the dentist were amazing!! So patient, so kind! The office is amazing and they really make the entire dental experience special for these kids!! When we were getting ready to leave my daughter said, " Mom, I love the dentist!" I just took my boys in for their regular cleaning, and once again, was thrilled with the office. The office is a VERY fun place for the kids, the staff is very professional, and very kind/patient with the kids. My son had a chipped tooth that I wanted to schedule another appointment to get fixed. Very quickly, they made some minor adjustments to the schedule and got his tooth fixed right then and there! The East Valley Pediatric office is awesome!!! We never have too long of a wait, and the staff are great with putting kids at ease for exams and procedures. It's also a huge plus that the waiting room is perfect for keeping kids entertained and occupied. Dr. Johnson is the best pediatric dentist. I had an emergency on a Saturday- my 18 month old fell and cracked her front tooth on the tile floor. He came into the office the same day to examine her (even though she wasn't an established patient- my older child goes to this office) and set us up for an appointment to address the issue first thing on Monday morning. I am very sorry I have to write this review because we have been coming here for years! My daughter turned 17 years old and we decided it was time to switch her over to our "adult" Dentist. I was shocked to learn that she had over 10 cavities. I take my kids every six months and they have their X-rays done every year. Not once was I aware of any issues?? My current dentist showed me the cavities and they were very visible to the eye. How could this happen? I know 10 cavities didn't appear in 6 months and her #19 tooth was so decayed it now requires a crown. I decided to take my 11 year old in as well and it's no surprise she has 5 cavities. My dentist explained it was due to sealants that were placed on their teeth. I'm not a dentist but I would think any issues like this would have been seen and addressed. I'm just really disappointed because the people who work in this office are truly nice people, I just hate I had to leave under these circumstances because like I said, I've been coming here for years. This was just completely unacceptable. read more
