Loooove this office!! My kids needed a new dentist. I have been hesitant to take them in because the last dental office they were at were soo rude and judgmental. I won't name names (*cough cough Just For Kids Dental). Lol! But my daughter has been complaining about her teeth and so I figured it was time (Ik Ik it's terrible). Anyway my sister told me about this office and that the staff here were really nice. I called out today from work cause I was sick but figured I'd at least call kids choice to set up a future appt. From the phone call, to the appt I was definitely treated with respect. I spoke to an employee, Bailey, who was suuuuper nice, very welcoming, and made the process so simple. She even was able to get me an appt in the same day!! When I got to the office, they were very prompt, respectful, and very personable! Sweet ladies! As soon as I walked in the staff made me feel extremely comfortable. Especially leaving them to care for my children. My older son felt comfortable enough to walk back with the employee by himself. The reason why I think I love this office so much is how much my kids liked it as well. Autumn took care of us today and she was AWESOME! Both of my kids loved her! She is very personable not only with the children but with me as well! My daughter esp loooved her. She made my children feel at ease and was joking around with them. The dynamic and culture of this office definitely felt like family or old friends. Also, we were able to treat my son with SAME DAY TREATMENT for his teeth! Soo fast and easy! My daughter has another appt for next Friday! They were just on top of everything! Thank you sooo much for taking care of us today! You guys are awesome read more

My 7 year old daughter is terrified of the dentist and refused on 2 separate occasions to open her mouth for the simple procedure of sealants and 2 fillings at the Puyallup location. After the second time, they referred us to the federal way location for liquid, oral Valium to sedate her for the procedure. We showed up for her consultation today and were rudely greeted by a sharp and impatient front desk staff member who told us they were running at least 15 minutes late. With no seating available we waited in the car. The same staff member called my phone when they were ready and rudely snapped that they were ready and then hung up on me mid sentence. When the dentist came into the room, he proceeded to say they wanted to intubate my daughter and give her IV meds for general anesthesia. FOR FILLINGS! I said absolutely not and explained the Puyallup dentist said oral medicine was the appropriate treatment plan. He asked if the dentist I spoke to was female and proceeded to throw her under the bus saying she has no idea what she's talking about. I explained that she DID know what she was talking about because they had used the same treatment plan of liquid Valium on my son in the past. He was hesitant and appeared visibly annoyed that I didn't want to put my daughter under general anesthesia for FILLINGS. He ultimately agreed to do Valium but then prescribed oral TABLETS for my 7 year old daughter without asking if she was even able to swallow pills, (which she's not). So then we had to wait even longer for him to modify the prescription. We just left their office feeling unsettled, our concerns as parents disregarded, and treated like burdens. The front office staff and the dentist were completely unprofessional and inappropriate. I have an appointment booked for October and will be trying in the meantime to find another dental office as I have zero confidence in these people and will never go back. I would have given NO STARS but it made me choose at least one. read more

Y'all do not go here. My brother went in not that long ago because he had an infected muller on his LEFT SIDE. They took scans of this tooth and even prescribed him medicine to take the infection away until the scheduled surgery. When it was about two days away from surgery they called my mom asking to delay it a couple of hours anyway. When they came back from surgery we realized they took his RIGHT MULLER OUT INSTEAD OF THE LEFT ONE!! Genuinely do not come here. Horrible service too! read more

I thought I liked Kids Choice Dental, Federal Way but after this weekend I am looking for a new dentist for the kids. The dentist and the orthodontist that share space can't seem to agree on when is the right time for braces. And the one fee covers it all even though the child only needs basic braces is outrageous after talking with other moms that have had several children with braces. The text messages, emails and now a phone call on a SUNDAY to remind me of a dental appointment on Tuesday is OVER THE TOP ENOUGH! Oh not to mention the OWNER should not practice dental work on children my granddaughter is now a bit sceptical of the dentist. THANK YOU! read more

Honestly the worst children's dentistry out there! Save your time and your children's wellbeing by not going here (Southcenter location). The staff is not warm at all - the dentist, the hygienists, and admin being equally rude and look like they dislike being there themselves. You can't work a pediatric job and have a frown- that's rule #1! I took my kids here 5 times, each time giving the clinic a chance and each time being met with the same unprofessional staff. They are a bigger company and have multiple locations. Their centralized call center is horrible- they never return calls. They kicked us off the list without our knowledge and we showed up to the appointment. Wasted time!!! read more

I have had great service at the Puyallup location for the 6+ years. Both my kids go here and we haven't ran into any issues other than the ALL the appointment reminders I get. Text, email, app, automated phone call, and a live person phone call. All appointments were confirmed by a text at least 3 times. There is no need to keep sending reminders if the appointment was already confirmed. Both boys go in every 6 months for their regular cleanings and x-rays. I have always scheduled their next appointment before I leave so I don't have to worry about having to call in. From looking at their website, it does allow the patient to book online so they dont need to worry about having to call in and speak to the automated system. There was one time last year, I had to call in and that was for a couple questions I forgot to ask and I had no issues getting transferred to someone at the Puyallup office to answer those questions for me. The staff have always been great with my now 7 and 4 year old, even when they were scared or shy. Today, the tooth the dentist was keeping an eye on needed a small filling, they were able to get my child in same day and even offered me 2 different times a mid morning and evening. I was able to go back with my son to get the filling done and the staff was great! They explained everything to my 7 year old as far as what the different tools did so he could feel more comfortable. I requested him to have some "laughing gas" to help and it did wonders! The dentist let him know that she had to take a better look at his tooth and he may feel her touch around with her tools and that his tooth is going to "go to sleep" he thought it was so funny that his tooth was sleeping. She allowed me to stay in the room and hold his hand to keep his mind at ease. The whole process was literally painless for my child and the dentist answered any questions I had and made sure I felt at ease. Thank you for the great service! And PLEASE work on all the reminders, if there wasn't so many reminders your company would have gotten 5 stars. read more

Nothing but issues. My daughter was scheduled for routine cleaning 6mth appt in December. She was told that would only be XRAY. Has to come back for cleaning and a cavity they found. The cavity was causing her pain. They scheduled us to come back the next day, my grandma had to take her because I am a single mom and work in healthcare field, so hold the same hours as Kids Choice Dental. I told them and signed the form electronically. The next day my grandma went in to have her cavity done and they told her no this is the cleaning. She said she is in pain why would we have the cleaning done first? So they said I guess if that is what YOU want to do I can ask the Dr. After a while of waiting they came back and said they couldn't do the cavity unless mom(me) got there in the next 15 minutes. Clearly, I could not as I was at work. They did nothing and sent my daughter home. The next available appointment was months out even though we just had so called XRAY appt just the day before. So we get a call a week later there is a cancellation. My grandma needs to bring her again, I spend my whole lunch break driving to the dental office the day before to sign the treatment plan. They arrive and they can't do it as they say my daughter is congested. Reschedule again for MARCH. Today was her appointment for March. I spent my lunch break yesterday driving there to make sure the treatment plan was signed by me, because you guessed it, grandma had to bring her! They arrive today, they NUMB HER, and she was a bit emotional, so they tell her they don't have any more time to waste on her basically that they have other patients, and they send her away again with NO TREATMENT! She still has not even received a cleaning!! We do not have many other options than to put up with this blatant and callous treatment. My daughter has severe oral anxiety due to previous trauma. They don't care about the children, just getting the many office visit charges that they collect each time. read more

For the most part I have been happy with the professionals we have worked with at the Tacoma location for the past 3 years. They are gentle with the children and have been conservative and careful. However, the centralized management and admin side of things has been difficult, unprofessional, and not worth the stress. I would go elsewhere if I were choosing again. Scheduling, changing appointments, getting information are all very stressful. If you need to contact them set aside a few half hour slots to attempt it. Multiple times I have been told they would call or email me records and I have not gotten anything. I am guessing they are understaffed and feel for them, but if you need a dental clinic you can rely on and communicate easily with this one might not be it. read more

I'm sharing my sons story in hopes it will help another child avoid such a traumatic experience. We were referred here for my almost 7 yr old to have a baby root canal. The first appt was the consult. A male dentist came to the communal chairs we were seated in, didnt introduce himself or say anything other than to ask me when his tooth was last filled, and walk away again. Thankfully (or so I thought), they had a cancelation for a root canal that afternoon so we booked that and came back later that afternoon. That's where things went very, very bad. Back story on my kid... hes great with dental work! Hes been numbed plenty of times for some deep fillings, has never complained about pain during dental work and barely bats an eye at the numbing shots due to the gas. Hes usually happy during dental treatment! The assistance took us back and got my son into the chair and hooked up to the gas. She was pretty good with him. THen a few minutes later she applied a glob of the numbing gel on a qtip thing, but didnt smear it around or do anything with it really. Let it sit there and then soon after the dentist (still dont know his name because he never introduced himself or spoke with me, again) was there to numb him up. He didnt speak to my son. He didnt put him at ease. My son screamed during the shots. No one had bothered to really rub the topical in, and the gas clearly wasnt doing its job... After he numbed him up, the dentist left without a word. While he was gone (only for a few minutes) my son continued to cry and told me and the assistant that his tooth still hurt. His TOOTH still hurt. They disregarded this, and soon after the dentist was back to begin. He told the assistance to turn the gas down (WHAT!?) and he got right to work... aggressively. As my son screamed. And shook. And the tears never stopped. Flinching at the pain from being drilled into for a root canal, without being numbed. I REPEATEDLY told the dentist something wasnt right, I explained he has had dental work, he doesnt complain of pain that isnt there, hes not numb. But I was met with him dismissing me and saying that he is numb, its just the pressure. Or its just the bite block causing discomfort. I said many times hes in pain and they NEVER stopped. They never took a break. They never considered that he may need an extra shot and that he is in fact, not numb. They tortured my kid for the length of a root canal, and kept trying to distract him with the promise of a popsicle when he was done. The dentist finished what he had to do, roughly and without care. And then he left. No words to me. No words to my kid. Once the assistant gave us the okay we got out of there, I couldnt stay another moment. Torture. Traumatizing. I would never, ever return to this place. And I would recommend you never step foot in here. They dont care about your child, or what you as a parent have to say. They dont care how much pain someone is in. They simply dont care. read more

I have been taking my kids here for a year. The staff is good & although the Dentist usually changes I'm grateful to have them anyways. My children aren't huge fans of the dentist but in all honesty neither of my 4 ever really have been lol We had 1 dentist I said I never wanted again but havent seen em since and anyone after we had was great. Glad they had an option closer to where we moved to. Now kids enjoy going to the dentist more than I thought they would. read more

Horrible communication. Arrived to the Covington office to learn that it was closed on the day the staff had booked the appointment (The appointment was booked 6 months prior). After speaking with a call rep, found out My child's appointment was rescheduled without my knowledge and I was not notified of this change prior to our original appointment. Not a single phone call or even automated text message to inform me of this appointment change. Consequently, we wasted our time and resources (took the day off work and had to find a sitter for my other kids) to try to make this appointment. My family will not return to seek services from this business. I advise you and your family not waste your time and resources with any one of their offices either. read more

The staff is so friendly! From the appt scheduler, to the hygienists, and to the dentist! This is the first place that has been able.to take x-rays of my lil ones teeth! No cavities! Yay! We've been going to Kids choice dental for years now. We've had okay experiences in the past, but these last two visits were fantastic and that's all thanks to Demetria & Sara. You see my daughter has GAD (generalized anxiety disorder) and going to the dentist is very triggering for her. Luckily, we got Demetria who was AMAZING with my daughter and when we had to come back in (due to a cavity) unfortunately Demetria could not work with us, but she set us up with Sara who was blessing in today appointment!! I don't usually do negative reviews but I feel I need to warn people so they don't get taken advantage of like I feel I did. The staff are all really kind and friendly so that's nice but we never saw the same dentist constantly which is maybe where my issues is but I'm not sure. First I was told my son would need to come in for a repeat visit to check on his incoming adult teeth since his baby teeth hasn't fallen out but his adult teeth were coming in behind them. When we came back a different dentist looked at his teeth for 2 minutes told me that he was totally fine and not to worry about it. I paid $150 out of pocket for this 5 minute long visit. I was upset but thought maybe this was a fluke so we continued to go to this dental office. 2 years later I was told my son would need caps on two of his baby teeth because of cavities. When I asked if this was necessary I was told he would have these baby teeth for at least another 2 years. This was in may 2021 I wanted to get a second opinion but we were moving across the county in 2 months and I of course didn't want my child to be in any pain from the cavities. I paid $500 out of pocket after insurance for these two caps which I would be fine with if it weren't for the fact that last night December 2021 one of the teeth with a cap fell out! This is after only 6 or 7 months! I'm furious because I was told he would definitely have this tooth for at least 2 more years! I guess I'm just want to caution other parent especially if you have copays to get a second opinion and don't just trust what one dentist says. This was my first experience with a pediatric dentist and it was not one I wish to repeat or that I would hope for other. read more

The front staff is friendly, some of the dental assistants are friendly and very good with kids, some of them are not. My kids always fear who they are going to get. My 7-year-old had been complaining of a toothache so I took her to Kids Choice Dental. They said she needed a tooth extraction and tried to convince me I should have the procedure done under anesthesia. Of course I said no. They explained that she needed conscious sedation, then. I sat with her while the medication took effect. Then they came and got her and told me I wasn't allowed in the procedure. I explained my discomfort with this, but they urged that this is normal procedure and if she was in any way upset or scared, they'd let me know. When they came to tell me the procedure was done, I went toward the room she was in and could hear her crying. She was upset that she couldn't hold her head up, or control her arms and legs. I had no idea the medication would be so strong. Her face was puffy and patched with red, telling me she'd been crying the whole time, and very upset. I asked how long she'd been crying and they told me the whole time! Yet they didn't come get me? I was furious. I paid the fee (after insurance) and carried my daughter to the car (because she couldn't even stand). She cried the whole way home, and shook in her seat. This should not have happened. Horrible. Soon after, I got a bill for hundreds of dollars. I had already paid what they'd quoted me, and I understand if there's a small fee not accounted for. But hundreds of dollars!? Ridiculous! Please do not take your child to this place. read more

This was the first place I attempted to take my daughter for dental treatment, around age one and a half. I made my appointment through the number listed on their website 253-848-7000. The assistant I spoke with took all of my insurance information and scheduled us. The entire process took almost 40 minutes and I assumed the lengthiness of things had been because my daughter was a brand new patient. I was then instructed to go online and fill out the new patient form to bring with me to her appointment to help make things go more smoothly. I had already viewed their website earlier on but when I tried to print the new patient form, I found out that it was a broken link (and still is to this day - I just tried it again). On the day of the appointment we arrived 15 minutes early but when I went to check-in I was met with a rude annoyance and told that we weren't even in the system. I was patient as the girl at the front desk turned to speak with her coworker and shortly thereafter confirmed that she couldn't find us in the system either. No apology was offered but I was assured that we would be seen at the time that we were originally scheduled regardless of whatever issue the scheduler had over the phone, so we started the whole process over. I filled out the new-patient paperwork and upon turning it back over to her I notified her that the link on their website wasn't working. She responded that they already knew and that it was an old copy of the paperwork anyway so I did the right thing by filling this copy out. Um... Okay, that definitely wasn't the response I was looking for but I didn't think it worth arguing over so instead I decided to ask her how long our wait would be. I was told we would be called back shortly, maybe 10-15 minutes. 45 minutes later, and after getting up and asking two more times how much longer it would be, I was told by the same girl that we were actually put on the schedule for the next appointment time which was an hour after our original appointment since there was only one Dentist working. (Come to find out it also wasn't Dr. Polsky, who is the Dentist I was told it would be over the phone, but instead it was anothet dentist that she had trained). I was pretty frustrated that she had outright lied to be earlier on but I sat back down and continued to play with my daughter. Another 25 minutes passed and I got up for the third time asking when we would actually be called back because at this point we had already waited over an hour and my daughter was getting fussy. And, I pointed out that more than 6 other patients had been called back before us. The same front desk girl assured me that she was just told they were cleaning a chair for my daughter and it would only be a couple more minutes. 15 more minutes passed and 2 other patients were called back to be seen. At this point I had lost all patience and got up letting her know how ridiculous it was that she had clearly been lying to me this entire time and was just trying to squeeze my daughter in when and if someone else didn't show up. I let her know that I would not be coming back again and I would be leaving a review to let other people know how extremely unprofessional and down right rude they were. This happened about 5 months ago. read more

My kids have been going to the Puyallup location since they were 4 and their 13 almost 14 now. I love it there, the employees have always been so nice and the doctor is very good. We've gotten Alexis twice in a row and she is Amazing, very personable. We always have the best experience everytime we go. We will be staying at this dentist for a long time. read more

I have been taking my 10 year old daughter to Kids Choice Dental on 94th & 128th on South Hill for the last 2 or 3 years. I have sat in on every medical procedure she has ever had. Today I took her in for a crown. She was put under conscious sedation and I sat with her as the drugs took effect. When they came for her they asked me to wait in the waiting room. Typically when this happens my daughter will say no, this time she did not so I shrugged it off and sat in the waiting room to read. It was not her first crown but it was the first time she was to be sedated for it. When the procedure was over they came to get me. When I got back there she was sobbing. Her face was puffy and red; you could tell she had been crying a while. She was heavily medicated but was immensely distraught. She was, in actuality, in near hysterics. Though hard to understand all she could do was cry my name and reach for my hand. She mumbled how she had been crying for me the whole time and they told her no. She said it was so scary and she needed mama and they wouldn't let her have me. Then she showed my some heavy duty Velcro straps about as wide as her torso and said they tied her down. I understand why they did this but we were not informed of this part of the procedure and she was not prepared. They did not tell her until she had been sedated and they were putting them on. It was like a nightmare for her. That's when she said she started crying & asking for me. I chose not to confront the staff then as I didn't want to upset her more and in her condition all she wanted to do was get home. The whole drive home she cried and cried about how scary it was and how they wouldn't get me. She asked me why I wasn't there. She was terrified (her words) and just wanted mommy. As the drugs wore off she would have bouts of sobbing again remembering how scared she was and how awful it was they wouldn't listen. When the drugs finally wore off she told me on top of all that they lied to her. Each time she would ask for me they told her I was in the bathroom, talking to the front desk folks, I was busy.... I was in the waiting room reading the whole time. She told me that when they wouldn't get me she started yelling for me. The way the office is set up I did not hear her. This is a pediatric dentist. Why did this happen?? I don't understand why not one person on that staff would inform me how upset she was becoming. Why would you traumatize a child that way if your specialty is children?? How do you let her get that upset?? She is so scared of the dentist now and I have never had a problem with that. She has enamel issues and more dental work is inevitable. I am really upset and reeling with guilt for allowing this to happen. I never should have let her go by herself but I trusted the staff with my daughter and was let down in a way I could never explain in words. I should have known that she was sedated & in no position to protest to my being asked to stay behind but someone should have come for me right away. The staff chose for it to be this way. Absolutely love the team here at Kids choice. Today my son had 5 baby teeth pulled, we are having orthodontic care done, and they were all super amazing, patient, caring, spoke to him every step of the way. I recommend this place for pediatric care. read more

my kid had an appointment at their tukwila location, these people called me and left me a voicemail telling me they don't know what kind of treatment my kid has. I showed up the appointmenand the staff including Dr. Bai communication is horrible. I missed work to take my kid for an extraction and Dr. Bai or anyone from their office did not called me and gave me any details about the procedure and when we went to the appointment Dr. Bai did not even explain anything but then he is telling my kid "oh it is up to you and if you want to go to sleep we can do that" while he has 3 other family waiting for him. my kid said yes and he told his assistant okay we will do it next time. can you believe this guy did not even utter one word of we will reschedule The procedure. I mean the service is really horrible, there is zero clear communication and he just wasted my time. the Other time my other kids had an appointment of an hour and we only did 15 minutes total, while he did not answer any of my questions and left the room in a hurry. If you want your kids to be traumatized then this is the place to take them! Dr. Michael An is extremely unprofessional and aggressive. When I told him I wasn't going to let him extract my kids tooth right then and there (we were there to get a referral for anesthesia procedure) he threw his hands in the air and stormed off. They also violated HIPPA laws by releasing some of my sons info to my mom who I did not list on the HIPPA form. read more

What makes this place a dentist office for children? The answer is not a whole lot. PJ masks on the TV and some Seabed wall paint. That is IT. I appreciated the ancillary staff for their kind treatment for my children, as well as the hygienist. However the office offers very little for its tiny vulnerable patients. No kid friendly surroundings, no prize incentives for good oral hygiene, an unhappy staff, no reassurance from the dentist. My boys have been going to this office since they were very young. We were content to begin with. We visited the office 6 months ago when they had just moved. Coming in this month 5/19 was no different than 6 months ago. The office was disorganized and empty, nothing on the walls, no books for the children. However this time there was an almost entirely different staff. The dentist was new too Dr. Hahn . There was an obvious lack of hand hygiene and he mocked my nervous 5 year old and had the social aptitude of a 12 year old. The revolving doctors are a no-go for me as well as the lack of rewards for their efforts at keeping cavities at bay; which cost nearly nothing and for which there can be no excuse. read more

The parking there is absolutely terrible. When we called to ask where we should park, the receptionist told us to park at State Farm which is clearly labelled (multiple signs) that it is restricted parking for their business only. When we told her we didn't want to risk getting towed, she told us to double park. The waiting room is also very small for the number of people they schedule. They have billed us incorrectly several times and are pushy about trying to get you to pay out of pocket for extras that insurance won't pay for. They perform procedures that insurance may not cover without checking with you first, so you have to be ready to catch them before they start if you don't want/need them. The only reason they are getting 2 stars instead of one is because of how great the dental hygienists have been over the past 3 years that we've been taking our kids there, but the reception staff, billing, and parking situation have become progressively worse. read more

I have been taking my son to this office since he was about 4 years old. Everyone that I have come into contact with has been absolutely delightful. They always have him in and out of the office within a timely manner. The longest I waited was 15 mins. He had an appointment today at 11am...it's now around 1120 and he is enjoying a popcicle and getting checked out. I commend everyone that works here...even if they are having a horrible day, probably getting bitten by a few dozen children, yet still do it with a smile read more

Absolutely ridiculous! This was for our baby's first dental exam. They booked 4 appointments at noon. They called everyone back but us. We waited and waited and waited. I love Kids Choice Dental! I have been bringing my daughter here for almost 5 years and we have always had a professional and friendly staff. Yes sometimes you have to wait but that's true for all healthcare places. When we first came here my daughter started out having 5 cavities now she has been cavity free for over 2 years and I think it's partly because of all the positive reinforcement she gets from the patient and caring staff. read more

Worst customer service I have ever had to deal with. They never call you back especially Aly. I have had to call 5 times to schedule my son and everytime I have to go through with them what they are supposed to be doing. Aly is either never at her desk or not in the office and WHEN you can get a hold of her, she is extremely rude! As soon as they finish my son's work I am finding him a new office. I would never reccommend this office to anyone, infact I will tell people to avoid at all costs!!! read more

I have been taking 4 of my 5 kids to Kids Choice Dental for 2 years now and I am very happy with them. My kids NEVER are scared and they actually look forward to there visits. I have been in the rooms every time one of them has gotten cleaned or fillings. The staff and Dentists were helpful and we as a team discussed how to procede. My kids range in age of 9-4 (the ones who go) and not one uses anastesia or Nitrousoxide. They are comfortable enough with the movie and Mommy holding there hand. They have explained every procedure to me and have answered every question. I have been able to decide how and when to procede. My kids and I love it and are very happy with all of our experiances there. We hope for many more years of good experiances. I do recommend them. Just make sure you are a parent who is very involved and there will be no problems. read more

This practice is unorganized, I had an appointment for each of my daughters. They called to confirm and 3 time and each call they gave us a different time. Always running late with there appointments. I will be taking my daughters out today after this visit. No stars read more
