But the kids do a good job being entertained and it's on the third floor of the mall where the only other main attraction is the free playground. So located in a great spot. They charge medium price I would say, between 30-45. And the kids leave with a candy and / or a balloon after their cut. They don't wash, just cut and style. They also sell toys and hair products that are branded. The hair products all smell good, but we haven't tried them.

We also love the snip its brand detangling spray, my son no longer gets knots in his naturally curly hair as long as we comb it through his hair after his nightly bath. We will continue to visit this salon! Original review: Ok -so my child had an overall positive experience getting his first haircut at Snip-its today...but one thing left a bad taste in my mouth at the end, so thought I would get on yelp and give a run-down of the pros and cons for others. Pros: -skilled stylist who takes to the time to get your child happy before starting the haircut and will patiently stop to get child happy again if they get fussy -Safe booster seat for babies (our son is almost one and did surprisingly well in the belted booster) -Toys in waiting area to entertain kids and a small prize after haircut -Small selection of kid styling products and toys for sale Cons -Tiny waiting area, despite the fact they cater to families (young children don't walk in alone for a haircut! ) -LONG wait times, even if you get on the waitlist online (online checkin showed only one person before us, but we waited a solid hour or more -at first we were told we were waiting for the baby seat to open up, but the stylist using it then left so we waited while other haircuts were done that didn't use the baby seat) -Things got dicey when it was time to pay. I was cool with paying the higher "baby'a first haircut" price, but was happily surprised when told we would get a discount for the ridiculously long wait time we experienced. Sounds great right? We even bought a keyboard toy (about $15), detangling spray ($13), and a detangling brush ($18-19) which we knew was likely a little marked up, but we are happy to support local businesses. I go to pay and it suggests a tip starting at 20% minimum or 25% or 30% or whatever. Then guess what -I look at my receipt in the car and discover the tip wasn't just calculated on the haircut service but ALSO the toys and products we purchased. That is ridiculous! I don't work in a salon, but I know most salon systems have you manually enter a tip and I have never heard of tipping on TOYS or styling items! It just seems shady and dishonest to me, we should have been warned that letting the system calculate the tip would result in a surcharge on EVERYTHING. So much for a discount! Soooo...long story short I almost had a great experience. I felt the excessive wait time could be planned for & justified by a great haircut. But I feel like we got robbed by the tipping calculator, and that makes me not want to go back again. If you can throw money around like confetti or are cool with tipping on toys and brushes etc, maybe no big deal for you...or use my experience as a warning and tip in cash (or ask if you can enter it manually). Still giving 4 stars since at the end of the day my baby's first haircut went about as well as we could have expected and we do appreciate that the stylist stayed past closing time (granted that's because the 25 minute estimated wait time was way off base, but still...).

She continued u til I had to wave, and touch my lo head. It was too short. She used the knife which is a no no for his hair. I just wouldn't trust them again. I the worst part is that we had to pay for it! I now know why the low rating. Don't come here :(

I took my 2 year old son in to get his first hair cut. He had long wavy hair that went to his mid back. I loved his cute surfer look. I wanted just a trim so that it wouldn't get so tangled, and we agreed that she would take off just 1 or 2 inches, but the stylist ended up taking off at least 4 inches of hair, and it ended up being well above his shoulders. I was extremely disappointed and wished I paid more attention to what she was doing. My entire focus had been on my son because he sat so still for her. I was so surprised by how well he did, that I neglected to make sure she didn't cut too short. I was so disappointed the rest of the day that I wanted to cry. I'm only giving 3 stars because the salon is really well set up for kids and he had a great time. I just wish he had gotten the trim I asked for. :( read more
