It used to be a great place, but it seems to go down hill. Waited for the Dr for over 45 min before being seen. Every time my mom comes in the Dr pushes for implants and every time she has to tell him that she can't afford it and to stop asking. The waiting room has become less and less kid friendly. The equipment inside is outdated, old and needs to be refurbished. My mom left work early to come in and get a filling and when she made the appointment she specifically told them it was for a filling but the Dr saw her too late and she was told she would have to come back. So he just took a look and then said he didn't have time. So she wasted money for that appointment. So we go in for the second appointment and he's again about 30 min late. He then went on to verify she didn't eat for 3 hours prior, but she was never told that. The procedure continued and neither the Dr nor the assistant knew how to work the Nitrous oxide and had to call in another person. Tbh the Dr was kinda condescending as well. This dental clinic has terrible service from both the medical and customer service staff. It has irregular policies that harm patients. I do not recommend it to anyone. read more

Horrible service and overcharge! Stay away. My child had the worst experience and will forever be traumatized

I would give none if I could- there is corruption with this practice- no child's baby teeth that are due to fall out need the amount of dental work recommended by this practice! I was ignorant for not questioning more but they were sure to take advantage of that ignorance and specialize in maxing out-state care. It was recommended my daughter have two fillings via sedated dentistry- and then they would have access after to look further and see if more work was necessary- but they would consult me. There was no consulting if they could do more wore work, there were 4 hours of waiting, no communication, when I got my child back there was no explanation just a screaming crying, wet her pants child coming out of anesthesia with no summary explaining that they had actually done work on 9+ teeth!! When hours after the surgery I asked about why my daughter's front tooth looked slightly yellow they said they enamel may have been scrapped away - when I told them it was turning grey and looked like it was dying they defended themselves saying it was a necessary deep almost root canal that was needed for that front tooth!! What on a baby tooth, one of the first teeth to fall out?! A tooth that was never discussed with me as needing work!! I was furious, irate and felt like the worse mother in the world thinking these people had my daughter's best interest in mind. They said they would do anything to help like put bonding over the tooth but my daughter was terrified and the only attempt to do so got her crying terribly. They sent an apology letter, and my daughter a tablet. I reported them to the state then waited for ages 4, 5, and 6 for that dark discolored half dead tooth to finally fall out. My daughter was embarrassed by kids asking her about her "green" tooth for years. My heart ached in every picture from that time. Still aches... When it fell out and the state found out that her new tooth was not damaged... the case was closed. And I am somehow coming across this place having a deceivingly high star rating which has just horrified me for other unknowing parents. The state should start looking at these claims further- my daughter lost her beautiful pearly white tooth to their absolute negligence and greed. I was so hurt and so angry, I could not write this sooner but be warned- behind the huge screen tv, and video games in the waiting room high tech gadgets and decor are wolves, many wolves in sheep's clothing. Shame on the team and it was a team that hurt my daughter and took advantage of not only me but many trusting, ignorant parents thinking they should be able to trust a child's dentist!!! 1 star so it shows up can be found and read- but it should be zero!! Oh and one more thing I heard that the take care of the mentally challenged through Hartford's children's hospital!! How and who is allowing these people in and taking advantage of these innocent children who really can not speak up for themselves!!! What is going on Connecticut?? My children have been to this place four times. The first three times they had their teeth clean by a super nice hygienist. Because of that hygienist I decided to overlook the poor services, not-so-friendly attitude, and bad customer management at the front desk. I am used to the routine cleaning and the quick dentist consultation at the end of each visit. I was surprised to see the dentist conducted what is normally performed by the hygienist on this last visit. I was even more shocked that his bedside manner was poor and he was not considerate of my children's comfort level. I would expect a dentist to be more competent at performing a hygienist task without getting flustered. The dentist was very nice but I did not get a good vibe by the way he responded to my kids; Rather than walking them through the process and easing their discomfort, he stifled their natural instinct to draw away and told them to "don't do that". I am choosing not to return to this practice for the sake of my children's psyche. I don't want dentistry to be a negative experience. read more

The front desk rescheduled us for a tooth removal and said that it was going to be at 9:45 but when we arrived she said we were supposed to be there at 9:00. When we arrived she said they don't have any available today. The next available is at the end of August and today is the last day of June. 2 months for a five minute procedure! I was a loyal costumer for about 4 years. I decided to go to Meriden Family Dental. IT TOOK FOUR MINUTES TO GET THE PROCEDURE DONE THE WAIT TIME WAS A FEW SECONDS! If I could give them -5 stars, I would. The amount of money we spent on needless fillings is a shame. I'm embarrassed I let them lie to me like that. I'm disgusted that they can go on scamming people. I took films to another dentist x3 children and were told there were no cavities when KDC said they all had multiple cavities. Something needs to be done to shut this business down and refund the deceived families like ours. read more

Kids Dental Care are liars! My kids went to this dentist for years, but over the last year or so it has really gone down hill. The office staff is rude and clueless when it comes to their job. When they cancel appointments they have no alternate times to give you for appointment times and often will push it months out. Once I was told they had to reschedule a cleaning because the dentist wouldn't be in the office to check. When I asked if we could just have the dentist check their teeth another time I was told that it was illegal to not have their teeth checked by the dentist after every cleaning. So rescheduled the 6 month cleaning for months later as that was the only time they had and had their teeth cleaned and was told by the hygienist okay you're good to go, I said, "Wait, doesn't the dentist have to see them?" I was told the dentist wasn't there, but they didn't see any issues, the dentist would just check them at their next cleaning. I thought it was illegal for them not to be seen by a dentist at the time of cleaning. And worst of all when they closed their Orthodontist department last October (2018) they gave hardly any notice, said they would send the records to another orthodontist that agreed to take on all current clients and not charge for services and this orthodontist would call in the next month or two to schedule something. No one ever called, and according to the new orthodontist they received no information about Kids Dental patients despite the fact that I filled out paperwork (which I have a picture of) to have my daughter's records moved. Now I'm waiting to find out if the rest of my daughter's care is going to have a charge or Kids Dental lied to me about that as well. Only go there if you enjoy being lied to. read more

Definitely the best kids dental place around- been to quite a few. And my kids have had some dental problems so they are pretty scared of the dentist. They are AMAZING with scared kids. And they do surgeries needed right in office. It's a 40 min drive for me, but definitely worth it. read more

My daughter use to be a patient there when she was younger (many years ago). The only reason I waited so long to review this place was that I didn't know about Yelp. The girls that clean your teeth are very nice and kind, and I thought I had found a good place for my child to go for her teeth. But other then that, the experiences my daughter had there were terrible. She had problems with her teeth since they started to come in as a baby and had to have a lot of dental work done through the years, so she was very scared to go to the dentist, and the dentist that she saw here made her fear so much worse. I don't know why he ever decided to work with children. He does not have a very good bedside manner. He never talked to her or even said hello, just walked into the room and started in on her mouth each time he saw her. She didn't know what was going on, and he was very cold and angry and frustrated when she got scared. He got mad at her for asking questions about what things were. One time when he was trying to put something into her mouth (a dental appliance), she saw blood and got frightened and started to cry. He got frustrated and left the room. He came back a little while later and started to put it back into her mouth without saying a word to her or me. Really? He had never even explained to me what the appliance was or what it was for. Well, I took her out of the chair and left and never went back. We had had other problems with him and his bedside manner, but this was the final straw. A week later I got a letter from the office saying they were discharging me as a patient because we had walked out. Good. I wouldn't have used him again for anything anyways. I found a new, truly kid-friendly dentist for her, and it took the new dentist a long time to help my daughter recover from the experiences she had in this place. I don't know why this guy ever decided to work with children. He doesn't have the patience or attitude for it. If you need a kid-friendly dentist, do not go here. read more
