Our Fam @ Kids Empire Celebrating Our Big Guy's Bday!
    Chris E.

Having been here once for just free play, here are my thoughts from a party hosting perspective. We held a birthday party here for one of our kids and we definitely had mixed (but, mostly good) feelings about the entire experience. We booked the party for a Saturday from 2-5 PM (their party start times are 10:30 AM, 2 PM, 5:30 PM) and our kids and all of our guests had a ABSOLUTE BLASSSSSST. As expected, our guests were there to have fun and enjoy the party and were probably oblivious to the planning that went into the party, hence why the experience coming here as a guest versus being a party host is going to be different. We booked the party online weeks ahead and on the Monday of the week of the party, we received a phone call from an employee. I'm not sure if you'd typically get a call from the manager or a random employee, but the person who called me was definitely an employee because they told me that the manager was not present that day when I asked certain questions. Basically, the employee confirmed the number of guests, our choice of cake, decorations and pizza (they only offer cheese or pepperoni or both). One thing to note about the pizza is that they advertise that it's 2 slices per guest, HOWEVER, they DO NOT advertise that there are 16 slices were pizza because they cut each regular size slice in half, meaning you're not going to be getting as many pies as you think you're getting based on 2 slices per guest. In actuality, it's just 1 regular size slice per guest. SO BEWARE OF THIS. Oddly, the employee did not request for a guest list with guest names, but we visited Kids Empire the day before the party and submitted one in person and we also paid the entire bill too, but you can choose to pay whenever ahead of time or pay the day of the party. Also, you can choose the tables you would like your party to sit at, but there are dedicated tables for parties as well so there isn't a whole lot of wiggle room on where your party can sit. On the day of the party, we arrived 15 minutes before the party start time as they don't allow the party parents to tend to their tables before then, but we weren't let in until about 5 minutes before the party start. With that said, we were assigned a party host (basically just a regular employee) to oversee our needs and the party tables were decorated as expected with a Kids Empire themed table cover, balloons, plates, cups and they had Welch's fruit snacks too. We added our own little touches to the decorations with extra balloons and snacks (e.g. chips). As the party progressed, family-sized water jugs and juices were brought out too and, whenever we ran out of beverages, our party host would bring out another. At about 3 PM, our pizza arrived from the vendor (Pizza HQ in Woodland Park), which meant it was time to eat for everyone at our party. It was our responsibility to corral everyone though to make sure they were present to chow down. Also, since we knew who the pizza vendor was for Kids Empire, we called them a few days before and placed an order for additional food and they delivered it along with the pizza orders on the day of the party. Just make sure to mention to them what time your party is. Our party host offered to serve the pizza to our guests, but our guests pretty much took matters into their own hands and started grabbing the pie boxes and handing them out, so there wasn't much need for the party host to assist, but just keep in mind that they do help serve the food. I will say that although our party host was verrrry, verrry nice and accommodating, at times she disappeared and we were not able to get a hold of her when we needed her, but we did find out she played the role of Huggy the dragon during the birthday parade. When our party began to wind down around 5 PM and it was almost time to end it, it felt like we were being rushed a bit to clean up. We understood that they had another party at 5:30 PM, but we were being rushed to move our leftover foods and we weren't allowed to keep it present in the facility, so we had to throw it all into the car. However, with the weather being extremely hot outside, we knew the food wouldn't last long in the car, so we asked if they could hold our food for us to the side for a short period, but the answer was NO. It would have been nice if they let us keep the food indoors, but because we had to move the food, it almost felt like we were forced to leave or else the leftover food could spoil in the heat. Anyhowwwww, overall, our kids and guests had ALOT of FUN and that's what really mattered, butttt, there's always a butttt, we would have appreciated if our party host was more visible and present. Also, we would have liked it if they helped hold our food off to the side at the end. It wouldn't have been a huge burden for them, but that definitely rubbed us a bit wrong. I would still recommend holding a party here, but just beware of some shortcomings.

Went in for the first time at this place for a birthday party. Easy check in process after signing waiver. The place is pretty clean, lots of obstacle based play area and huge slides. There's a dance area, toddler play area, some arcade games. At the counter they sell many different types of snacks, sodas and ice cream. There are bench and tables where they put the party decorations. Other regular tables are available for parents not there for parties. The associates help with serving pizza and cutting cake. But it seems they don't fully dedicate resources to orchestrate the whole party that I have seen in other places. Our host dropped the cake by accident cause she was handling it after candle blowout. Also didn't see any help when they were packing all the gifts. The service in this process has lots of room to improve.

I've visited here about 5 times. I've never had a bad experience. I love that the play area is all in one space and I can sit down and have view of everything. There are tables and plenty of seating. I love that you have the option to go in and out same day (if you want to leave to eat you can and then you can return). The fee is for the whole day unlike some places that charge by the hour. I've never had an issue with cleanliness. The staff have always been fine - no issues. They're attentive when they're needed. They have little motor vehicles for an additional cost. You need to purchase a card at the front desk. That I wish were kept a little better because sometimes the vehicles are stopped in inconvenience places which can block others. They have wifi here if you want to get some work done while your child plays. There's also a little area for infants/toddlers off to the side. Overall I recommend this place. I'm not sure why all the negative reviews but this is my go-to indoor playground. It's located in a parking lot near many other businesses but parking has never been an issue. My least favorite thing is route 17 traffic!

The play area itself was very clean. We went on a Sunday and it was super chill, not packed at all. Paid $27 because I needed socks. There were two men and one girl working at the front. They were attentive to any kids attempting to leave ( mine included lol). The girl was constantly cleaning, organizing, and restocking the entire time. The men, however, were mostly on their phones, and the reason it bothered me was because the place was nearly empty and the bathroom clearly needed attention. One of them even heard me mention it on the way out and still didn't bother to check it. If my toddler had been potty trained, I honestly would've left to take her somewhere else to use the bathroom. I was really disappointed because when you're serving children, cleanliness should be a priority throughout the entire establishment. If the place had been packed or they seemed understaffed, I probably wouldn't have gone out of my way to mention it, but in this case it just didn't make sense.

The day I came, 2 children had gotten injured & the lady at the front made sure they were both okay. I also noticed that the lady at the front (possibly the owner?) kept reorganizing the blocks, balls, chairs & tables, which was nice to see. Another kid got a nose bleed & she cleaned it up immediately. The bathroom is clean, which is a big plus. My 2 kiddies played for 5+ hours, we went out to the food court, ate & returned. It was a day well spent. Overall, Go PlayLand at Paramus Park Mall is a great place, for all day play; it's clean/ well-kept, I'll definitely be back.

While visiting the American Dream mall in East Rutherford yesterday with family from out of town, my partner, his family, and I decided to escape to Sea Life NJ by purchasing via their kiosk. Some of us haven't visited this establishment since it first opened up 4 years ago. Upon arrival, the staff scanned our time slot tickets, and we breezed right into the elevator. It's a smaller, quick-visit aquarium great for an hour and managed to pack a lot into it. It is a walk-through experience where one can marvel at the aquatic animals and read fascinating information on the walls. Especially great for young kids who love interactive features and photo ops. The touch tank was one of the memorable events, being able to touch the sea anemones and starfish. The various tanks looked clean and well maintained. One can pop one's head up into a few tanks for fun pics. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. It's a fantastic destination for families and ocean lovers alike.

Your kids will absolutely have a BALLLL here…read more Definitely one of the best indoor playgrounds we have been to in northern NJ. We decided to bring our kids here on a wet and rainy Saturday morning at 10:30AM to let them get some steam out .... and boy did they. First off, all shoes must come off when in the play area. In addition, it's advertised that no outside food or drinks are allowed, but I observed people with Dunkin iced coffees and bottles of water from outside. It seemed that no staff members check your bags, so if you end up bringing something inside your bag, chances are it'll make it in. As for the play area, this indoor playground is prettttty, prettttty big, as in wide and spacious. I love the fact that there aren't a whole lot of tall apparatus, like super tall slides, because it's really unnecessary for little kids. There are plenty of slides though, but, of a reasonable and safe height. The obstacles in here feel endless and there are plenty of interactive activities too, like immersive games to play. Also, there is a staff member monitoring the gate into the play area at all times as well, which is nice to see. Although we weren't here for any birthday party, we did observe quite a few take place in the celebration/cake rooms. In fact, I ended up walking into an empty party room just to see how big the room was and it felt like it was a bit on the small side, however, it seemed like the parties that were happening squeezed quite a few people inside. The parties seemed VERY, VERY well organized. I observed the staff announcing on the loudspeakers for attendees of respective parties to head to the party rooms when it was time to eat and I noticed staff members assisting the party parents with decorations and moving gifts, food and cakes. Back to the play area, there was a staff member vacuuming parts of the play area every so often, although it seemed like it was more for show because whatever they were doing didn't seem all that productive. Also, there didn't seem to be a whole lot of policing of the play rules either as I guess it's expected parents will do it. If you're wondering about food, there is a small eating area with benches and quite the menu of food (e.g. pizzas, quesadillas, pretzels, desserts, drinks) that they sell - definitely more than I've seen at other places. In fact, we ended up eating here because the menu was interesting enough and the food/combo was worth it where we got the Large Pizza with 5 box drinks for just $18. At the end of the day, our kids absolutely had a blast here. They loved all of the activities and it never felt boring for them despite the fact that we were here for 2.5 hours. Also, other kids were flying around and everyone seemed like they were really enjoying themselves. I rarely say we'll be back at some places, but I undoubtedly feel we'll be back at some point.
