I kept checking to see when it was open and it seems like the date kept being pushed further back. But fast forward and I saw an advertisement on Facebook about joining the Dundalk swim center. Imagine my excitement! I went in for a tour a couple days ago and I was even more excited when I saw the pool in person. I was given a tour, some insight on the best times to swim, and information about future swim lessons. The staff is very friendly and they're waiting for you all to come swim! It's not a very big pool, but the secret is that not many people know it's open. So today I had it all to myself aside from a few women who were doing water aerobics. The water is nice and warm but not too warm. I swam 2,000 yd and didn't feel like it was hot. Will, the operations director/life guard, is very friendly and will answer any questions you may have. By the way, it's a 25-yard pool. The locker room is nice with plenty of lockers, bring your lock for the day. They also have one of those machines to dry out your swim gear. Overall, it's a great pool and I'm glad that it's open! I'll be back regularly!

My daughter has experienced nearly every Harford Gymnastics class over the last close to a decade,…read moreand our high-level thoughts are: this is a great gym, filled with great people, who are genuinely kind. Lots of specifics below on our experience for anyone interested: Youngest classes: (tumble bees, junior bees, etc.): These are more or less what they are - it's a bunch of preschoolers. Sometimes they focus, sometimes they don't. You don't always get the very best instructor because frankly, they need to staff an entire gym and a competition team. The parent-and-me classes are really on you to make the experience the best thing for your kid. There will be a plan and a circuit, and there will be parents who have their kids follow it, and instructors working with them, and parents who let their kids run wild. Each day and time is a different group - try a few and find one that works for your kid and their energy level. (of note here, Miss Bree's youtube TumbleBee classes during Covid were AMAZING!!!! You will never understand how many days of our lives those videos saved.) Parent free classes (Rec): We moved on to drop-off classes in the last months of Covid, so drop off was really DROP OFF, lol. No parents allowed in the building. This was actually great, and I loved getting to watch on the livestream. I can say less about the dynamics of those classes because I wasn't there, but my daughter always enjoyed them and seemed to be progressing in skills. I did like them being in the big gym and watching the circuits. At around age 5, they invited her to be evaluated for invitation-only classes, which included having another instructor come and take her to the big gym to assess her skills. The only tiny note I'd have about this experience was that she was currently taking classes with a friend of hers, and the instructor approached both of us parents together, saying that she wanted to evaluate my daughter for invitation classes, but wasn't sure she'd want to leave her friend behind if they moved her to the invitation classes, so wanted to ask first. (In effect, what it did was to imply to the other parent that her daughter wasn't as good and there was no opportunity for her to be evaluated, which felt awkward). Invitation classes: (mini select, etc,.): We did end up doing the evaluation, and my daughter was invited to join mini select classes. Honestly, the difference between even this level (remember she's still 4/5 at this point) and the rec level was significant! The training was instantly of higher caliber, the instructors more skilled, and the classes far more structured. We LOVED it. Pre-Team: (Mini D, SuperStar): After a year of mini select, she was invited to join pre-team, which increased to 2 practices a week, and even more high caliber training. At this same time, she'd received an invitation to pursue pre-professional dance training, and when we asked her which one she wanted to do more, she chose dance. I will say, I had the MOST pleasant experience in discussing this with Harford. There can be a lot of understandable tension between dance and gymnastics teams and people choosing one or the other, and Harford brought none of that. I explained that she was going to be doing pre-professional dance, and that was 3 nights a week, with one night overlapping with Mini D. Harford not only supported her choice, they offered to charge us only half the price for Mini D, and still have her come 1 day a week to train. They absolutely did NOT have to do this! They could have easily said that this was an invitational commitment and if she wasn't ready or able to commit then she could go back to the rec classes. Instead, they made room for her and continued to make her feel welcome, while also discounting my tuition! She continued on pre-team there one day a week for 2 seasons until her dance training became too intense to allow it, and Harford has continued to welcome her back at every opportunity despite no longer being a regularly enrolled gymnast! Summer Camp: Due to how amazing they've been and how they've made space for her, and also because their summer camps are awesome, we've continued to come back every summer for camp (she's going on 10 now). The coaches and staff all still know her by name, welcome her like family, and are continually willing to let her register for camps based on her skills, despite not being on pre-team or select at this point (since it's been a while since she was enrolled). Just this past summer, they offered to enroll her in the invitational and select camps for whatever weeks we registered, just so that she'd be with gymnasts closer to her skill level. She was training again with kids she used to be on pre-team with (they're all on team now), and the kids, coaches, and staff were nothing but welcoming and thrilled to have her! This is a fairly obnoxiously long review at this point, but this is a gym that has proved itself to us over YEARS by showing up as family.

The facilities are huge, but for the type of money you have to pay... you would think they would work on getting newer equipment, more space for parents to wait (like bigger waiting area), cleaner and well maintained restrooms and working on getting rid of the BO that you smell from the entrance of the facility All in all, great instructions, great classes but the facilities are not worth the money that you have to pay.

Service is great, love the climate. Good place for kids to play. But the watch out for the kids on the volleyball court, I once saw them beat up a cute defenceless little guy and his friend got PISSED this guy chucks these kids into the water (obviously volleyball people) the little guy's glasses smashed on the floor and one of kids (sadly, morbidly obese) jumped on top of the glasses. He obviously had to get new glasses. The lavatories are small and wet. Lower the urinals would you? It's fine for me, but these little toddlers either urinate all over the floor or cry because they have to use the toilet. As a male, I know, no one likes peeing in the toilet. The Dive is a perfect place for a light snack or an entire meal! Like the ping-pong table. Also, if you just got out of the pool and you're wet and cold and are craving concession stand food, sit on the wooden picnic table to eat it. It's warm on cold, itchy, wet, bathing suit bottomed buttocks. It's nice!

You could easily spend an entire afternoon here - there's plenty to keep the kids busy and happy - a basketball court, beach volleyball court, horseshoe pit and a children's playground that includes a wooden pirate ship, a sliding board, swings, and large sandbox. The concession stand has a menu with fresh offerings made by Maggitti's - we LOVE the refillable cups! The covered pavilion offers plenty of room to cool off while you're eating. You can even bring your own fixin's and cook them up on the provided grills. Two additional pavilions can be reserved for parties for a reasonable fee. Great place for birthday parties! Throughout the season, the club hosts several holiday picnics and activities for both adults and children. Swimming lessons are available too.

We take my daughter to class only to find that there was a new instructor. The issue is that no one told me she would have a new instructor after I expressed through email my frustration with the instructor we had and the only reason I didn't cancel previously was because her new instructor was good with kids. My daughters last swim session was a complete horror show, it appeared that the instructor was in training as he was receiving direction from another instructor. I sent them an email to British Swim inquiring about my daughter's initial instructor, at which point they told me her schedule had changed. I reminded them that the only reason my daughter was still attending was because of that instructor. I cancelled and said my child would not be attending her last three classes and asked for a partial refund, and they said no. Save your time and money. My daughter has been going here for about 5 months and she hates the water even more than when she started, she used to love going there and now she doesn't want to go.

This is a great pool with a family atmosphere. Generally people here are very polite and courteous and a lot of families with small children come here. They do have a kiddie pool which is separate from the other pool area. My kids love to come here, it's become a tradition in our family. There is plenty of free parking and the pool backs to a farm which makes for a terrific view while you are relaxing by the pool. If you don't want to commit to a membership, you can buy a one day pass.

Didn't notice the kids who could barely breath while in the deep end or the boys harassing my girls. Just super annoying and not relaxing at all.

The party was well-organized and truly enjoyable. However, my positive experience took a nosedive when I signed up my daughters, aged 5 and 3.5, for the summer camp for a week in August. While the birthday party was exceptional, my experience with guidance on the summer camp was frustrating and disappointing. I signed up my daughters in February, right after the birthday party, and expected to receive detailed information and instructions in a timely manner prior to camp starting. Unfortunately, despite multiple attempts to contact KNW for guidance, I received no response until just two business days before the camp was scheduled to begin. The lack of communication and delayed responses made it impossible for me to prepare adequately. I was told repeatedly that I would receive an email with the necessary information, but it never arrived until after I requested a refund. To my surprise, once they finally sent the e-mail (two business days before camp started), the information was generic and not specific to the week my kids were attending. I was really confused as to why they couldn't have just sent me that e-mail when I requested it weeks earlier......or the three or four requests after that. Adding to my frustration, I discovered on the website that I needed to complete health forms for my 3.5-year-old and obtain permission from her doctor to participate. This critical information was not brought to my attention earlier, despite my efforts to seek clarification from KNW on multiple occasions and I was out of time to action it. The response from the camp director was disappointing, showing a lack of empathy and accountability for their team's failure to guide me properly. Instead of acknowledging the issue, the director suggested I should have relied on a flyer from the birthday party for summer camp information, which was unreasonable considering the long time gap between the events. She also scolded me for not having common sense to go to the website. Fine, perhaps I missed the obvious fact that the information might be on the website, but I am a working, busy mom of young children. I can be scattered and overwhelmed at times and I rely on good customer service to guide me in the right direction and keep me on track. Not to mention, sometimes I appreciate the convenience of a really good company who still offers a lot of help through a phone call and talking to someone live. In the end, the information on the website was outdated, turns out my 3.5-year-old no longer needed a doctors permission, this demonstrated a lack of attention to detail and keeping their communication up-to-date. As a working mother of two young children new to the summer camp experience, I expected more guidance and support from KNW. Unfortunately, I felt let down and unsupported during this process. It's a shame that the lack of customer service led me to make the difficult decision not to send my kids to a camp they were excited about all summer. My request for a refund was met with a non- apologetic response of "it's fine to not send your kids, we are on a waiting list and I will fill it fast". While KNW may have a long-standing history, their handling of communication and customer support in my particular situation was disappointing, leaving much to be desired. As a result, I am unable to wholeheartedly recommend their summer camp program and I will not be booking anymore birthday parties for my kids.
