The park has a picnic shelter with picnic tables under it and a grill just outside of it. It has two picnic tables. One of the tables is rectangular and the other is a square table with a checkerboard on it. There is also a couple of picnic tables and a grill in a grassy area in the center of the park's circle. You will also find a nice full basketball court at the park and a nice paved trail passes through it. It is a really nice trail and very peaceful. The highlight of the park though, is its playground. The playground has a rubber mud free floor, which is in great shape. There are benches around the playground's perimeter where parents can sit and watch their little ones. The playground's equipment includes a small jungle gym with slides, a large net climbing structure with a slide. There is also a bank of swings with a toddler swing, An ADA compliant swing, and some traditional swings. This is a very nice park. I didn't know if I would make a special trip to visit, but it is still very nice. I ended up here because I had picked up some food from a carryout joint and needed a place to eat it. The park's picnic shelter was the perfect spot. So, if you are in the area, and looking for a park to visit. I recommend checking this place out.

The size is on the smaller side so it might get boring after an hour. My rec is 30-60 minutes stay. Also it's in a neighborhood which is a bit inconvenient when driving through. Stop by if you're already in the area but I wouldn't make a special trip again.

Pre-COVID 19, it was usually very crowded on weekends. Our last visit was a few days before playgrounds closed and we were the only people there. We came here today during Fathers Day, and it seemed like all of the fathers were seated in the park benches while the kids were playing in the fountain. There is also a large playset section wmthat has several slides, plastic ladders, and hoops for kids to play in. Down on the far end, I even noticed an old school swing set with actual chains holding the swings up. There are porta potties, and the entire park is also connected to a large walk and bike path. I believe this path connects to both Patomac Yards and Crystal City. We stayed for a good two hours, and everyone had a lot of fun, even the old folks.

We were the only people there other than the rangers. It is quiet the walk from the parking lot, but scenic with farm animals on the way to the station. The inside area was amazing, with facts, books, coloring station, a map of local stations and examples of badges from there (super cool), interactive cow milking station (with water), a play farm stand, etc. We got to learn about the site, and had an opportunity to learn about the five different animals they keep, see the feed for each of them and helped feed the chickens. Was a great experience for all of us. Thank you!

My fam was hanging out under some umbrellas and I could see lots of water fountains and sprinklers all about. There's nothing particularly exciting for adults (except for the bucket pour, but it's a great environment if you're looking to cool off the kids! The bathrooms had an interesting protocol that I hadn't seen before. The park closes at 7, and each of the bathrooms closed in 15 minute intervals leading up to that time. For example, the leftmost one closed at 6:15, the second one closed at 6:30, and so on. What they don't tell you, which I do think would be key (kids and their bladders) is that they start cleaning the bathrooms out around 10 minutes before they close... so really you can't use the first bathroom after 6:05. Other than that, the park is cool! Seating is first come first serve, and they close promptly at 7.

A lot of youth sports, adult league baseball and softball, it's just one of those parks that stays active. You can pull up on any given day and see games, practices, or people just out enjoying the space. The park has a lot to offer too. Baseball fields, basketball courts, tennis and pickleball courts, open sports fields, walking paths, and even a dog park. There's a nice skate section, solid playgrounds, and plenty of space to just hang out. Growing up, we used to run around the playground area with family and have small cookouts. Just simple times, but those are the kind of memories that stick with you. Now it's cool getting to come back and watch the youth in my family play sports in the same places people once watched me, and being able to share those memories together. That part really hits different. Everything is kept up well, and there's enough space where it doesn't feel overcrowded even when it's busy. Overall, it's more than just a park to me. It's one of those places that's always been there, and still delivers. Great for sports, family time, or just getting outside. The good old days type of spot for sure.

There are a couple of swings but the real focus here is on the toys. As has been noted previously it is VERY sandy, even outside the sandbox. On our visit there were quite a few hornets within the sand area so I was mostly steering clear of that. This park is very tiny and can get crowded quickly, which is not ideal for social distancing all of the time. Parking is easily found on the street. Also, just as an FYI, there is a playground relatively close (Martha Custis Park, I believe) if you want more apparatuses to climb.

After familiarizing with the place, she had to courage to go explore the playground. She had a blast there. We will definitely be including this in our list of playgrounds to continually visit.
