When we were there six years ago, it was Covid times so we had to be separated two different tables, but we still had fun. The bartender was fun. He actually turned us on to a root beer drink that we have made on many trips since. During our trip yesterday, the hostess wasn't very friendly as person on earth. The hostess was not there when we got there so we waited a few minutes and then thought we needed to venture into the restaurant a little further to find someone. She then greeted us by telling us we should've stayed at the hostess table to be sat. She then continue to make slight comments such as when you're ready I can actually see you and things such like that I don't normally write reviews where I have to add that some of the staff members were rude, but I do wanna note that. Our waitress , I believe her name was Rae, was fantastic. She was absolutely hilarious super friendly. And worked with all of our allergies make sure she noted it on all of our food orders. The food was delicious . The nachos were amazing. Two of my friends ordered drinks . The beer flight was cute. They came in little mason jar glasses with handles. Megan, in particular, always makes each visit special. She is knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely personable, and I always enjoy chatting with her. We usually need a couple extra pillows and they wouldn't give us any of those either. So this really does make it the least accommodating Holiday Inn Express I've ever visited. Aside from those problems everything else was pretty typical. Room was clean. No real soaps or shampoos, just those bottles bolted to the shower and sink. Breakfast was typical. They actually had bacon which a lot of them only have sausages. I would stay here again but only if someone else better around the same price range wasn't available.

Check-in was quick and easy. One thing I wasn't told, though, was that your room key is needed not only to use the elevator but also to activate the lights in your room. Thankfully, I've stayed at hotels with this feature before, or I probably would have been pretty confused. The resort is huge, so if you're bringing a lot of luggage, definitely grab a luggage cart. It'll save you from making multiple trips. I also reserved a room with what I thought would be two queen beds, but it turned out to be one queen bed and a pull-out couch. After a few nights on the pull-out mattress, my back was definitely feeling it. Another thing to know is that the in-room refrigerator doesn't have a freezer. Luckily, I brought my portable electric fridge/freezer cooler, so I just plugged it in on the balcony and kept all of our food in there. The outdoor grills are a great feature, and we cooked steaks a couple of nights. Just be aware there aren't any grilling utensils provided, so bring your own if you plan on cooking. We also had dogs staying next door that barked almost nonstop, especially whenever people walked down the hallway. It was a little annoying, but I'm a dog lover, so I wasn't going to complain. My room also felt on the smaller side. If we came back during snowboard season with all of our winter gear, I think space would be pretty tight. Now for the good... The resort is absolutely beautiful, spotless, and very well maintained. There's really no reason to leave the property. Between the winery, the upscale Italian restaurant, and the pub-style restaurant, there are plenty of great dining options. Both restaurants offer outdoor seating where you can enjoy food and drinks by the pool. The food was excellent, and the prices were very reasonable. The pools and hot tubs are outstanding honestly, they're comparable to what you'd expect at a Disney resort. There are also tons of activities for kids, including poolside movies on a projection screen, arts and crafts, ice cream events, and guided hikes. It really feels like a place where families can make lasting memories. I don't usually work out while I'm on vacation, but the fitness center here is so nice that I had to use it. It's honestly the kind of gym I'd pay a membership for. I even took one of the spin classes, which was a great experience. The only thing I didn't see was a sauna. Maybe there is one somewhere on the property and I just couldn't find it, but if there isn't, that would be a huge missed opportunity especially during the winter months after a long day on the slopes. I'll definitely be coming back, and I could honestly see myself buying a timeshare here someday. The only thing that surprised me was that no one ever asked if I wanted a tour or gave me a sales pitch. I don't know if they just aren't pushing timeshare sales as hard as other resorts, but I was expecting to at least be asked. Overall: 4.5/5 stars. A few small improvements would make this place nearly perfect, but it's an outstanding family resort and one I'd happily recommend.

From the front, the resort looks fresh and impressively sized. Service from check-in to check-out was seamless, and when we had minor complications with the air-conditioning in our space, they brought a maintenance person to help in good time. Our vineyard-facing unit offered beautiful views, and I cannot understate how helpful it was to have a fully outfitted kitchen in our unit. I made full use of the blender to make morning smoothies, we found cutting boards and spoons aplenty for small snacks, and it was just nice to have an ice machine right in our giant fridge. I could see this being a major convenience for traveling families. To call it a resort might be a bit of a stretch. In my mind, a resort is an all-in-one site, including full options for dining, recreation, and entertainment. True, there are two restaurants, a small winery, a decent arcade, and a decent pool on site. But there were no breakfast options, and the pool was frequently closed while we were there. There's a so-called playspace in the lower level that was somewhat sadly outfitted with a few coloring materials and a pretty glitchy interactive projection that kids were done with after trying for a few seconds. That said, there were curtained off areas of live construction that promise more fun things to come. If the posters in the elevator are to believed, there will be a gondola leading from the hotel to a mountaintop, which should make for a fun wintertime stay.
