I've been visiting the winery during my stays at RiverWalk Resort, and it has become one of my favorite parts of every trip. The winery consistently adds to the enjoyment of my timeshare weeks. My absolute favorite is the wine slushies--I look forward to them every year and couldn't wait for them to return in the spring and summer months. I also highly recommend the wine and cider flights, which are a great way to sample a variety of offerings. The staff and service are outstanding. Megan, in particular, always makes each visit special. She is knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely personable, and I always enjoy chatting with her. We stopped by after seeing an advertisement that they also have hard ciders. Both me and my partner were incredibly disappointed in their cider offerings. We had flights and tasted all of their ciders. Ironically our mutual favorite was a hopped cider. It was literally the only one we liked. At least for now, it seems they should stick to wine. The man working there was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. It was a great experience learning about the ciders and speaking with him, just wish they tasted better. Seven Birches Winery will forever hold a special place in our hearts. We hosted our welcome party the night before our wedding here, and everything was fantastic. All of our guest commented on how beautiful the winery itself was, and from the moment they arrived the atmosphere was warm, relaxed, and elegant--exactly what we hoped for as we kicked off our wedding weekend. The team at Seven Birches was outstanding. They were welcoming, attentive, and genuinely invested in making sure everything ran smoothly. We opted for a wine and cider tasting, and the staff was very friendly and made sure the entire process was easy and seamless, allowing us to truly enjoy the night with our loved ones. The wine and cider were both amazing, and after the tasting most guests stayed to have another glass. In addition to our welcome party, Mark and the team at Seven Birches also helped us create our own red blend and white blend for the wedding, complete with personalized labels and everything. Not only did this help us create our own special touch for the wedding, but also it was a great opportunity for my husband and I to learn more about the wine making process and all the intricacies of what goes into it. This is such a great experience within the Riverwalk Resort! Come with friends or if you are a wine lover and your spouse is not, come by yourself (they can go to the arcade!). A mom even brought her quiet young kid as she sipped. This place is for anyone. I chose the 5 flight experience. I think you can also choose a 2 glass experience. Shain really knows his stuff! I'm sure other staff are wonderful but when I was there Shain was our guy. He really was great. The wines were all nice. I bought a bottle not featured so I could try more of what the winery has to offer. I love that I could experience this while at this resort! I had visited my friend in CA and she took me to wineries out there. This had a similar feel. Wish I was able to book a tour. But the tasting hours are pretty open. I was worried I wouldn't be able to come by at all with our hiking schedule but I made it to tasting at least! If we come back to Lincoln we are definitely staying here again- for lots of reasons but this winery is a big one! They are under construction now. We have been going to Seven Birches for years. This was our first time in the new location, it is real nice, spacious, clean, and plenty of outdoor seating. Our server this time was Karmella, she was very pleasant and friendly and made us feel comfortable. Her knowledge of the winery is very good. She seem generally concerned we dropping our club membership, explained the changes to the membership and how beneficial it would be for us to reactivate our membership. Great place, highly recommend it if you are looking to have a relaxing glass or flight of wine. read more

The atmosphere and service were both great. They were set up in one of the rooms for a murder mystery theatre experience so we sat at the bar in the main room. We were provided water and crackers for our wine flight (5 wines for $20). I thought the wine was subpar. The reds were better than the whites, and after a quick taste of the mulled wine/cider, I dumped it. If coming here, I hope you like red wine. read more

A highlight of my fall leaf peepin' trip! You must make a stop to SB Winery while in the Lincoln area. The flight was $20 and included a 5 sample selection. The pours were generous at 2oz each so you pretty much end the tasting with two glasses of wine. The selections were well varied between whites, reds, and roses so there was definitely something to suit everyone. We opted to add a cheese plate which was customizable. They'll plate whatever you like from the store. Make sure you sample a local cheddar with the wine! It definitely completed the experience. Come enjoy some delightful wines surrounded by a gorgeous view. Oh! And ask for Kristin. She was our sommelier and was a joy in addition to being an expert! Amazing!! Didn't expect much from the outside because it was in a resort (hmm...is the winery..in there?) But it will blow you away. Excellent service, excellent wines for both white and red. Loved the red blends and also loved the apple mulled wine which tasted like an apple pie in a glass. Did the wine tasting (~$20) where you can pick 5 wines with generous pours. I didn't get her name but the lady with beautiful red hair was just delightful and taught me a lot about wine. You can also buy cheeses (~$7) or crackers inside a la carte and bring it outside to enjoy. We sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful weather and sunshine and views. They are expanding quickly! In the future the nice spot we sat will become a clubhouse for wine members so we were glad to experience it before it expanded. read more

If you are not a wine connoisseur and for the caliber of New Hampshire, not bad wine at all. I was going through the town and wanted to give it a try and I am glad I did. For $20 for wine tasting, also not bad but we definitely shared a glass. The highlight was actually wines made from 100% strawberry and 100% blueberry that would pair so beautifully with angel cake! The reason why the place got 5 stars is thanks to the customer service of Zach, a fourth year student at Plymouth State University. This is such a fun spot if you're heading up to see the foliage, for a hike, to go row a boat by a lake or do something fun and outdoorsy! (but not that outdoorsy since I still need to stop for my wine and cheese) The wines are local, and so are the cheeses. Makes for a super fun tasting to try out the blueberry wine (probably my favorite. I know. Real wine enthusiasts would scoff at the idea of a blueberry wine but hey, when in New England right?) The wines were pretty tasty, but I think we all decided the cheeses were phenomenal so you definitely have grab a bunch. And by grab... they charge you per cheese out of the fridge and you cut it and serve it yourself. Which is also reflected in the really reasonable price. And the view from this place is phenomenal. Seriously, for the price we paid the view, the ambience, the food... This place can't be beat. I just hope it doesn't get too crowded next time we're back! read more

Seven Birches Winery is located inside the RiverWalk Resort at Loon Mountain in Lincoln, NH. It offers a wine tasting room with an adjoining restaurant as well as a cider room across the parking lot. Seven Birches Winery is an extremely popular destination for tourists as it is situated inside of a ski resort that overlooks the mountains. The tasting room offers a beautiful view of the mountains, and their outdoor pool and hot tub. We first visited the wine tasting room and shared 8 tasting glasses of wine between 4 people. Seven Birches Winery boasts high quality wine and I particularly enjoyed the blueberry fruit wine and the mulled wine. The mulled wine is a winter-must. You can even purchase a kit to make it at home. Following the winery, we went across the street to taste their seltzer water, mead, and cider. We also ordered their deluxe picnic platter. As someone who considers themself a cider and mead connoisseur, I recommend sticking with the wine, and avoiding the ciders and meads. They really need to be improved before they can be enjoyed. The seltzer water was okay, but again, nothing special. The deluxe picnic was tasty, however, for the price of the charcuterie board, it would have been nice if everything was already cut and placed on the cutting board. When you receive the platter, you are handed a box with the cheeses, meats, crackers, and maple syrup. You are then expected to cut everything yourself, which is a bit of a pain. I understand that it's supposed to be the novelty of a picnic in a restaurant, but still. Of this picnic, we adored the smoked maple syrup. We even purchased a bottle to bring home. Overall, seven birches is a high quality winery and a nice place to stop on a cold or rainy day. I would award them 4/5 rather than the full 5 stars simply because their cider and mead leave much to desire. read more

If you're looking for the aesthetics of a standalone winery, Seven Birches is not that. It's located on the first floor of a resort in Lincoln. However, if you're looking for knowledge and a really good wine tasting, this is definitely worth a visit. We enjoyed our two hours a great deal. read more

Wine tastings can be scheduled or walk-ins are accepted. There are two options, just a tasting or a tasting and a tour. A tasting is $10 for 5 samples. All wines are local. In reality it's 3 1/2 stars. The room is on the smaller side and tends to get super crowded. Also, we ordered the cheese tray & our friends ordered the chocolate tray that after our third tasting we had ti ask where it was. They look like the trays are made in advance and shod definitely been out to us earlier. The sommelier basically read the descriptions off of the list we checked off. Also, this is the only place that really only poured "a tasting" in our glasses. The place was decorated super cute and I loved the wine cork backsplash. They had a refrigerator that you could buy cheese or drinks and have with your sampling. The wine wine was absolutely delicious, I truly did enjoy all of the wines I tried. The bottles to purchase were a little on the expensive side $24-$28 for a bottle. I did overall enjoy the experience and would definitely come back to try other wines because they do change seasonally. read more

I don't understand some of the terrible Yelp reviews. This winery has the whole package. Beautiful tasting room with a lovely atmosphere, gift shop items to support other local businesses, great ever-changing wine selections, fascinating and informative wine tours, and palatable wine. What more could you ask for? Viognier- A fruity white French wine, light-bodied with mango and tangerine notes. Couldn't leave here without a bottle of this fabulous tasting wine. Malbec- One of my favs from here. Aged in steel a tank and was very lush. The Chocolate Sampler ($8)- You get to try out these decedent little pieces of locally-made chocolate. Wine tasting and snacks to nibble on, it's the only way to do it! Overall Service: Excellent! The sweet young lady that did our tasting was new but was well-articulated and personable. And we totally lucked out when one of the owners did our tour. It was blast! It literally was one of the best wine tours we've had the pleasure of experiencing and I would absolutely recommend anyone who's planning to visit the White Mountains to bookmark this very winery. read more

I've been to this winery 4 times. 3, were when it was located in the Riverwalk Resort, and 1, most recently where they've moved the location to the Village Shops across the parking lot. Soooo disappointing. When located in the Riverwalk, views were amazing and they somehow made the wine and charcuterie taste better. I went back again and again for this view. Now that it's in the Village Shops, the view is a parking lot. The wine didn't taste as good, and the charcuterie was all brought to us in its original packaging... $40, for still-packaged meats and cheeses. We had to arrange the entire board ourselves. While we looked at a parking lot. Incredibly sad. Hopefully they move back to the Riverwalk. read more

My husband and I did the "Meet the Winemaker" tour. The Assistant Wine Maker took us out to see the newly planted vines, then into the production room to view the barrels and taste the wine. It was a great intimate experience and we were able to ask so many questions. He was impressively knowledgeable about everything and very friendly. We tasted 6 wines and they were all great. My favorites were the Sauvignon Blanc and Sunset Red. After our tour we bought some bottles then headed over to the Atrium to taste some of the ciders. The blood orange cider was amazing, we bought a few of those to take home. We ordered a cheese and meat board which came wrapped up for us to slice ourselves. The cheese and pepperoni were very tasty. The patio was very nice to sit out on and service was great. We will definitely be back next time we stay in the area! read more

The winery conducts something called Crush Festival. I attended the grape stomping in 3rd Crush Festival. This review is only for the festival. I did not go inside the winery. The winery is part of River Walk resort building. The surroundings were beautiful. I went in thinking, there will be multiple grape tubs, and many people can do stomping at the same time. In reality it is just ONE grape stomping tub. There is a queue to get into the tub. Once you step into the tub, they take around 10 pics in your cell phone for you. And you leave the tub for the next person in the line. So basically there is not much stomping, but you will get an opportunity to take a picture that you are stomping. The festival as such was a lot smaller than I thought. May be I saw 50 people at the time I was there. read more

An impromptu reservation a day ahead, made for a really memorable experience at SBW. My girlfriend and I toured with another great couple (T&K) to make, in total, a 4-person tour with Nathan the wine maker. T&K 'proactively' brought their cheese pairings selection and added to the experience. Nathan gave us knowledge of each varietal on offer. Every question asked gave us great insight to the production/tasting process and then some. Really congenial guy and very friendly staff before/after made for a great experience. The location may seem small but they are expanding, so more great things I reckon to come. I would definitely visit again should I be in this region in the future. read more

It's too bad they don't sell it bottled and it's certainly too bad they don't ship wine to Massachusetts or I would have signed up for their club membership. The 1-2 person meat, cheese and cracker board was a lot of food! If you can't finish it all, they let you take it home. I wasn't in the mood for sangria, but I did try a sample based on the glowing reviews. It's delicious and would be nice on a hot summer day. read more

Faith was excellent and gave us enough information about all of the wines we were tasting without making us feel silly for not knowing much about wine in general. Cute little wine tasting room right in the center of town... quality wines, but a little on the pricey side (per bottle). The tasting itself is a great deal - $10 for 5 2oz tastings (of their 10 options). I chose one white - Chardonnay (meh - but I'm not a white fan), all 3 available reds (unfortunately the menu online doesn't only show the tasting options, so I'm not 100% sure which ones). 2 were quite peppery/earthy and delicious - would go very well with a good steak! The 3rd was a bit lighter and sweeter and would be perfect for a pasta or chicken dish. We also tried the rose, which was light, bubbly, and refreshing... and the blueberry, which almost tasted like a dessert port wine and was way too sweet for my liking, but 2 of the people I was with loved it! Small intimate room, w/ glass doors to large balcony & a breathtaking view. The price for the tasting was perfect: $10 for 5 good samples. Between us, we sampled 8 wines. We enjoyed 4 whites; Solstice was unoaked & a bit sweet for my taste, although Liz definitely warned us! It would pair nicely with some chicken salad, but I was glad I sampled a glass rather than buying a bottle. For sweeter palates, the Strawberry Wine was a pleasant surprise & would pair perfectly with Summer Berry Trifle. The Pinot Grigio was crisp w/ expected apple notes. Riesling was nice light, semi-dry & refreshing. Our fav? The Sauvignon Blanc w/ nose of stone fruits (apricot to me, peach to my husband) & kiwi made for a crisp refreshing drier white. 3 Reds were quite pleasing for a summer day. Sunset had a very nice finish with a medium body. Cab Sauv had a great jammy nose w/ just a hint of oak & tobacco, perfect for some grilled meat on a cool summer mountain evening! Our favorite was the incredibly smooth flavored Syrah. Great nose, great flavor & finish. The absolute highlight of this tasting was Liz's expert guidance. Her friendly banter through our tasting provided just enough information to confirm our choices, sharing little tidbits along the way about the winemaking, the winery & Virtual Tastings. We definitely enjoyed the well-curated selection of wine accoutrements & local foods: a nice variety of retail to pique the interest of any wine taster! We loved the local crafts. Pros: This is a fun activity to do with a small group of friends, especially when the weather is bad outside. Wine tasting is $10. If you want to do a tour, you need to book and it will cost $20. Cons: I did not like most of the wines except for the fruity apple wine. This is a personal thing, you might like the wines, but I thought that the wines were pretty bland. The white wine was very very light, almost too light. The reds were so so, I found them too light as well, and I just didn't like the taste of the reds. The fruity apple wine was delicious though. They also sell local hams and cheese so that you can make your own cheese plate at home. Alternatively you can also order a cheese board while there. We bought some salami to take home, as well as tirasmiu wafer sticks. We thought those were locally made too, only to find out that the tirasmisu wafer sticks were from Indonesia... read more
