I took my daughter here twice: May 2015 and then October 2015. The experience was great but we moved out of state and haven't been back. I just took my daughter to the dentist in our new town 10 months later (yes, I know I should have taken her sooner) and she has a cavity that is so bad that her tooth has to be extracted. How is it that Kid's Town Dental did not see this coming last October? I called the office and they said they didn't do X-rays on her last visit because she had them done in May. They said that they had told me to bring her back 3 months later to get them done (which I don't remember them doing) and I never received a courtesy call to remind me. I know that I am responsible for my daughter's dental health but it would have been greatly appreciated to have received a phone call or notice in the mail to remind me to bring her back to get the X-Rays. I feel horrible about my daughter's dental situation and if I had only received a call to make an appointment to bring her back all of this would have been prevented. read more

I am dissapointed at this clinic. We had an appointment for a consultation which was supposed to be free. But nothing is free at this place. I handed my insurance card as i entered for my appointment, the receptionist told me I can go ahead she will call and check after I asked multiple times if they take BCBS. They confirmed that they do. Doctor told me she needs braces and retainers if I make my mind and it was about $3400. I told them its too much for a 7 years old, she still has her baby teeth, she will still need braces when she is older, and I am a single mom, I lost my job two years ago and wasnt even working at the time yet so I had to think and talk to her dad. They suggested to do the cleaning, I told them they should check with the insurance first, and they told me she most likely gets 2 free cleaning a year and I will just pay the copay. Guess what, as we excused ourselves to leave, receptionist told me I have to pay the full amount for xrays and cleaning, then I can call insurance and get reimbursed. I toild them i didnt have $314.00 on me and they are on their dad's insurance I cant make the phone call, they will not reimburse me anything, so call their dad since he is the policy holder. I receved a bill a month later for $314.00. I called, they said they take only PPO our insurance is not PPO as if they didnt know that in the beginning. IS this how they make their business? First of all, it is too much for cleaning especially for a kid. Ididnt have an insurance at the time I was paying $76 for just cleaning and $104 with the xray. Where did they get such prices? Second of all, i asked too many times if their insurance is good enough, they said they take BCBS but system is down, they will let me know. Its been almost 2 years, I thought they already got their payment from the insurance, I receive a bill again. I called again, tiold them they must be out of their minds for doing this to people, they told me they will give me a deal if I paid now $250. I told them to send to collection if they wanted, but i will not pay if even if I had the money, they can not treak people like taht and hung up. I didnt ask them to clean her teeth, we were their for a consultation. read more

Care provided by the dentist was excellent. Not a big fan of the multiple treatment chair/tables in one large room as there is little privacy for the patient. I am unsure if we will return because the wait time was really long at 1 hour. read more

Just took my 3.5yo and 1.5yo for their first appointments and I was so impressed by the office, staff and overall experience. My 3.5yo really struggles with anxiety at the pediatrician but he was so comfortable and I was amazed with how well he did. The dental assistant and dentist were patient and caring. The "baby room" was a great environment for their first visits and a positive experience with going to the dentist. read more

Do NOT go!!!! Very shady with insurance and run arounds. First off they said that they don't take my insurance because they are out of network before they even knew what I have. So I called my insurance and they said they cover up to 100$ for cleanings in and out of network. They charge 250. When I told them this they said when they checked my policy it said it wasn't covered at all. That's just my experience this time. When we did Tongue tie release for both my daughter and son we didn't have dental so we just paid out of pocket. No problem with that but when it came to check ups and making sure it healed properly they were very vague and now I need to check to see if it reattached or got tight because my daughter is not speaking. They told me I supposed to come in a year after the procedure to make sure. I was not told that because if you pay 500$, you remember to go to all the appointments!!! . And now they want me to pay (250) to get a cleaning so they can check it. They won't just check it. I don't want a cleaning because I rather go to a place that is upfront with cost and insurance. I have never had a dentist not be able to tell me cost before the appointment. My gut told me something wasn't right at my daughters Tongue tie check up at 6 weeks when they sent in a dental assistant to look in her mouth. She literally just looked. Took my son here hoping for a fresh start after a series of traumatic-to-him dental checkups. Our regular pediatric dentist that is good with my other 3 kids is just not a good fit for my son who has oral sensory issues. They are incredibly patient and sweet and they won his trust. We will be back in a couple months to see if they can do a full cleaning on him, and I am hopeful it will be a success. read more

I was happy with our family Pediatric Dentist until he told us that my three year old son had two cavities. In order to fill the cavities the Dr. wanted us to bring my son in without having breakfast, give my son a medicine to relax him, use a needle to numb his mouth and possibly another medicine if my son was not relaxed enough. I didn't make the appointment with this denist. Instead, I found Dr. Luedemann. She does most of her fillings without medicine and no numbing! We first scheduled a basic exam so that she could determine what my son needed. There was no wait and the Dr. took us directly to a play room where she made friends with my son. She then had him sit in my lap while she looked at his teeth. She agreed that we needed to fill the cavities but would not need to numb his mouth or use oral medicine to relax him. I made the appointment. Again, no wait. My son snagged a book from the waiting room. Dr. Luedemann asked him if he wanted her to read it to him. He nodded his head and she read to him very slowly. He had brought his favorite movie that was played on a tv in the ceiling above him and he had on earphones that were placed so that he could hear the movie and the doctor. Dr. Luedemann was very loving and talked him through each step. I think it all took only 45 minutes and his cavities were filled! She did have to use laughing gas to keep him from gagging but that seemed harmless. When we left my son said, "Mommy, that was fun!". Both times that we went I had two daughters with me also. They were entertained with ample toys. The room where my son had his cavities filled has a pocket door that opens to another room with a ping pong table. That's were my girls could read, play and have a snack. The assistants are all charming and office is seamless too. I filled out some forms online to bring in and they took care of the insurance billing. We alI look forward to going back for routine cleaning! read more

My kids love going to see Dr. Amy. Everyone in the office is so sweet and make it a fun experience for the kids. Yes, I meant to write "fun"! This was an amazing appointment. I went to get a second opinion for my daughter on needing caps. Today was just an exam. Everyone was gentle and patient and she was really comfortable - no anxiety and no tears. They offered innovative, less painful solutions that I have never heard from other dentists before. They are out of network for us, but honestly are still worth the extra cost. read more

We have only visited the office twice and feel they are the most trusting staff to meet the needs for our two year old.

This place is amazing!!! My 5 year old was so scared about going to the dentist, but the people at Kidstown made him love the dentist. We had a very little wait (even though we are new patients). As we walk in to the back the kids get to pick out a tooth brush. They sit with the dental hygienist and they put this purple stuff on their teeth. She tells my son that it is "magic" and turns different colors. She was so polite and encouraging. He quickly calmed down. They have a open setup. This means they have 3 chairs in one room (it is still very roomy). This helps because if your little one is scared they can see that other kids are getting their teeth cleaned and it will make them feel better and see that nothing is wrong. There are also toys and stuffed animals for comfort in this room. A girl next to us was very upset and was crying but the dental hygienist started to sing her a alligator song and made her laugh and feel better. After the teeth cleaning the D.H. brought out a tub full of fake fruit, veggies and candy. She had my son pick out food he liked. She then went through the food he picked and explained what the different kinds of food do to his teeth. Everything here is 100% kid oriented, I was amazed. At the end of the visit my kiddo said, "Mommy, I love the dentist!" He got to pick a prize and got a smile certificate and his picture taken. He was so proud and the D.H made sure to tell him that she was proud of him also. I love this place and will definitely be coming back. read more

This was the first time for my little son going there. The nurse has no smile at all and seems don't know how to handle kids. The way she was working was rude and scared my son. My son was crying after going out and told me that she was mean to him. Highly not recommend to anyone unitl they changes the nurse. read more

Phenomenal place to take your kids!! My young teen on the spectrum and neuro-typical daughter are taken care of with utmost competence and care! Our experience with this dentist was not good. Our child needed some dental work due to cavities. My first big issue is that the wait for appointments is ridiculous. We went in for consultation in October and were not able to schedule her dental work until mid January. We were able to get her in earlier due to cancelation (early December) but the experience for this appointment was a disaster. First off, the dentist is truly into research and has strong opinions based on what the literature says. I appreciate a doctor that is well read and stays up to date on the literature, but I have an issue with any provider who does not offer all viable alternatives. As a parent it is my job to weigh the options after you give all the info. I feel I was almost robbed of this right. From the get go the dentist was pushing stainless steel crowns and extractions on us for front teeth on a child that still has 3-4 years before losing primary teeth. She was acting as if there were no other options until I kept pushing. Finally she ended up putting porcelain crowns on my child's front two but did not have them for the other two because she claims she has to preorder and that they do not keep them on site because they are too expensive and insurance does not cover the cost...what kind of archaic stuff is that; all other practices I talked to gravitate toward porcelain standard and offer payment plans. They understand that kids can get teased for a mouth full of "silver" and some parents will pay out of pocket. Children can be relentless. Also, the crowns they placed were ridiculously RIDICULOUSLY crooked! Did y'all even check her bite? Needless to say, immediately after paying all this money to get the work done here we went elsewhere to get it corrected and spent at least $800 out of pocket. The new dentist we saw was totally appalled at how crooked her crowns were placed. Do not go here; unless you want regrets like us. read more

I am so happy with Dr. Luedemann and her staff. The entire staff is obviously very comfortable dealing with children - even children with special needs. Not only did they handle my special needs son with good humor and understanding, Dr. Luedemann even recommended a great book to read regarding my son's situation. Both of my boys LOVE Dr. Amy and can't wait to go back - how often does THAT happen? They have been great with reminding me of my appointments and I've had nothing but a great experience with them. read more

Our first visit was great! The staff are great and very patient with rambunctious kids. Even though the dentist didn't formally introduce herself I still appreciated her service. Our second visit, a routine checkup, was not so great. I left work early and arrived at the appointment on time only to find out Delta Dental insurance is no longer accepted. The office manager insisted that a letter was sent out to all patients in June. Needless to say, we never received it. That said, I received 8+ reminder email and text messages of the appointment. read more

I have never seen such an Unprofessional and Unreliable and Inconsiderate pediatric dentist as Kidstown Dental. I called this dentist over a month ago and they gave me an appointment for 4pm on March 11th for my three kids, I did not ask for this day, they gave me this appointment by themselves. I canceled work meetings, rescheduled their private tutor appointments, picked the kids up from two different locations rushed so hard just to make the appointment and got to their office at 3.45pm for the 4pm appointment that they gave me. Only to be told that they are sorry that but that their computer changed the 4pm appointment to a 3pm appointment because of the time difference change yesterday and that they no longer have a 4pm appointment. HOW LAME, and TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL. They said they were already closing down and everyone was getting ready to leave for the day for their own appointments. I have never seen a totally Irresponsible and Incompetent act from a business in Katy where most businesses go through great lengths to satisfy their customers. They gave me a wrong appointment due to their mistake and try to blame it on the Computer and Time Change that happened the day before. They did not care that they gave me an appointment and I jumped hoops and tried hard to honor that appointment, they were concerned about their own personal interests and personal appointments. And to think that No from the office called me when they realized their incompetent mistake. No one called to point out their error and ask me if I could come in at 3pm instead of 4pm. They called me the business day before and left a usual appointment reminder message to remind me of my appointment for my three kids at 3pm, she NEVER said by the way we want to change the appointment to 3pm from 4pm because we want to close at 4pm. They never tried to call me the day of the appointment to clear up their mistake. How truly Unprofessional. IF A BUSINESS ORGANIZATION CANNOT HONOR ITS OWN APPOINTMENT AND HONOR THIER OWN WORD ON A LITTLE THING AS THE TIME, I WONDER HOW MANY OTHER DISHONEST VALUES AND PRACTICES IT HAS. read more

Dr. Garrett and Mrs. Elisabeth are by far the most professional and personable dental professionals that I have had the pleasure of meeting in a very long time. The customer service at this office is phenomenal. When I read reviews on Yelp sometimes you take a chance of them being from actual patients but after taking my 10 year old there I have to say it was a great experience! My daughter was traumatized from previous dentist offices and it took a long time to find another one that she trusted to touch her mouth. I drove far but Kidstown Dental was perfect and I will continue to drive that distance for great service! From the kid friendly atmosphere with movies playing in the lobby to ease them to the kindest dental assistants that help make the kids feel as comfortable as possible. (Thank you Keely & Stepfany!) The fact that parents are able to be with their child and see how they are treated is a huge plus with me. They are very gentle and waited until my daughter was very comfortable before they started working on her. I love the method Dr. Garrett and Keely used to extract my daughters tooth. They used terms that made the process very calming for her and she had no idea she was actually getting shots in her mouth. HUGE PLUS! lol! After her visit they gave her a frozen treat which I thought was so sweet for a dentist office to do for the kids. When we left my daughter made me promise that I would always take her there. Don't take kids to this place... awful experience. My daughter became scarred of nurses and their attitude so she didn't want to be touched by this persons... Since my daughter didn't want to perform the procedure the nurse threatened my wife that if the procedure is not performed they will charge us a $250.00 USD fee. Yesterday my 3 year old was less than cooperative when trying to get her teeth cleaned. The staff was more than understanding and put me at ease. When she finally laid down after watching the older kids, I went to find the friendly staff to come back for the cleaning and we were able to complete the process. I could hear her whispering to my daughter how well she was doing and that she would get not just 2 stickers but 3, but don't tell anyone because not everyone gets that many for doing as good as she's doing right now. It made me so happy that after all the hard work to get her to that point she made the extra effort to make her know how good she was doing and behaving. And to top it all off, when Dr. Garrett came to do the examination, she sang her songs from Frozen to make the process even easier!! 1000% would recommend because of the time and effort they put into working with the children knowing going to the dentist isn't always the most enjoyable or fun place! read more
