This review is for Maria. Hubby and I took our 2 year old son for the first time to this salon. We were really nervous due to our previous horrible experiences at other salons. Luckily we got set up with Maria and boy did she do an amazing job! We showed her a picture of the haircut that we wanted and she did exactly that! My son was so calm with her that he barely cried which was surprising since he normally goes crazy during his haircuts. Maria was very sweet and patient as well as great at listening to what we wanted. So happy to have found a great stylist for our son, we will be going only to her from now on. read more

Today June 13th we took our 2 yr old son for his 1st haircut at Kidz Cutz Woodbridge Mall. We originally had an appointment with another hair stylist who was very busy. This other Indian stylist who just got free saw is waiting for some time now, took our son. Her name is Dee, very patient and kind lady, she did an excellent job with his hair. Although he was crying and scared she still managed to make his look really nice. He looks so grown up now! Thanks Dee! read more

I think your experience depends on which stylist you get... I was hesitant to go here because of some of the reviews I read but needed to go somewhere that was open later than most other kids salons. The place was definitely chaotic on a Friday night. However, I got Fran and she was very good. She was sweet with my daughter and asked me a lot of questions about what I wanted. She was patient and gave my daughter a very nice cut. I would definitley go back again but only if I was sure to get Fran. read more

Honestly I'm a Barber, but I won't dare touch my sons hair just yet so I started going to Kidz Kutz since my son was about 6-7 Months he came out with 1 years worth of hair already Lol. Ever since we've been getting Kutz there I have no complaints. My sons person is Daisy the most wonderful person and caring person there she loves her clients and knows how to entertain them as they can get a little scared and antsy. Horrible place!! I used to go here for a couple of years. I would say about 3 times a year. I just went on sunday to get my daughters hair cut and styled and i went to the pediatrician today and i found out my daughter had lice. I have 4 kids and no one else has it. Just her and she was the only 1 to get a hair cut. The pediatrician said it takes about a week for the egg to hatch. If anyone went to this place and got lice, please respond to this. I tried calling to notify them and the lady couldn't speak a word of english and she thought i wanted to schedule another appointment. How she got that out of me telling her my daughter got lice from them is beyond me. I spoke to the manager about it who was a male who spoke English but i dont know if they take precautions...... read more

I LOVE this place ... my son is 7 years old and had his first hair cut here at 14 months. We only go to Fran ... sadly she is only in on the weekends but worth it!!! We make our appointments and never wait more then 5 minutes .... Love the way the staff is with kids ..... My husband and I took our son here, Saturday was our 3rd time. We were seen quickly which was the only positive thing about this whole experience. My son is 3 and is classifed as developmentally delayed. The hair dresser did not take any time to greet him or even ask his name. We ended up having to have my husband hold him while the hairdresser did the best she could - hair cut actually came pretty good despite him crying the entire time. What really disappointed me was the older lady who works at the front desk, after haircut was done she rolled her eyes while looking at my child and shot a very condescending in our direction. I was going to say something to her but the place was full of children and I didn't want to make a scene. I am just disgusted by the insensitivity displayed by Kidz Kutz employees towards children with special needs. I will never be returning. read more

Alan is awesome! I take my 3-yr-old nephew here and he is always happy when he hears me say, let's go see Alan for a haircut! This is the same child that would scream, cry and want nothing to do with a hair salon or barber shop! My hair dresser even has the same car-style chair for kids, but he wanted nothing with it. First visit to Kidz Kuts in Woodbridge Mall and he hesitated a little, but then sat nicely, watched the movie he chose, and let Alan do the work. Alan is very good with him. Very kind. Always playing with him with the blow dryer and the brush that he uses to clean away the hair. At the end he gives him a high five and the lollipop bucket to choose his favorite. I have been going back to him only. My nephew even cried when we went today (Veteran's Day) and Alan wasn't there. We had to make an appointment for tomorrow so he could see him and want to get his hair cut. :) read more

Customer care sucks. First of all they screwed my son's hair and my son's skin was all red after haircut by an inexperienced employee and when I said that she did not did her job well..The owner told me to pay again to get unsymettrical hair fixed from another person in the shop. I would not go there again. They were not even ready to listen to me. read more

Walked into this place thinking it's been there for years and they'd be good with children. What a shitty place with shitty people for a lack of better words. First of all the lady doing my sons hair looked like she didn't even know how to use a pair of scissors but I didn't ask much bcuz I was afraid I'd offend her so didn't ask any questions about how lost she seemed. However.... I did say something when I noticed she didn't pull the comb out of the sanitizing blue water and she pretended it was an accident. When my sons haircut was done it was embarrassingly uneven. I asked to speak to the owner and some lady called me back and apologized left and right asking for me to bring my son back in for her to fix it. I went back in and this b**** had the nerve to say she didn't recall speaking to me and since I didn't have a receipt they cannot fix anything. I paid cash and no receipt was given to me !!! read more

My kids only go to Fran. Ive been going there for about 6 years. I couldnt be happier with the way Fran cuts their hair. My daughter decided at 2 years old to cut her own hair, and I was devastated. I brought her to Fran and the way Fran cut her hair, you could barely notice that she cut it on her own. STAY AWAY FROM KIDZ KUTZ & AURORA!! Worst experience ever for both my son and myself. Very similar to a few of the other reviews the customer service was disgusting. Aurora was the hairstylist that we were given and what a cold, mean woman. Not a single smile, not a friendly gesture, just all business. "How short do you want it?" That's all she asked. And because she didn't bother to ask us any questions, when she pulled out the clippers and zipped through my son's hair, he freaked out. My son is only 2 yrs old. I told her that he has never experienced clippers before. She made no effort to take that information into account and make my son's experience less traumatizing. As a matter of fact, she walked away. She couldn't be bothered. I was stuck, she had already shaved off a quarter of my son's hair. Where was I going? After calming him down, I needed to go and look for her to ask if she was going to finish the job. I even reminded her that this was a kids place and she should know how to deal with this. My son was absolutely tormented in the hands of Aurora. His exact words to me when I finally got him out of her chair was "GET ME OUT OF HERE MOMMA!" I will never go back to KIDZ KUTZ in Woodbridge Center Mall and warn anybody who is thinking of taking their child there...stay away...especially from AURORA. read more

This was THE WORST experience ever! Took my son 19 months for his second haircut. I wanted to try this place because it is closer to home which is why I decided not to go back to the first place we did in Clifton which after this experience I will gladly take the drive and pay the $20.00 for his haircut. I had made an appointment with Jackie since I read on here that either her or MAria were the most pleasant and great in dealing with kids. Maria was on vacation so I thought I would give Jackie a try. My appt was for 4pm. I arrive on time and I understand it's Saturday late afternoon and the place is packed I'm pretty reasonable. So I walk my son around to kill time. After 30 minutes I approach the front desk and ask the lady does she know how much longer it would be? As anyone knows traveling with a 19 month old they can get restless. She just tells me well you have to go to the back and ask Jackie I dont know. So after finding out who Jackie was since it was my first time going I could not BELIEVE her Unprofessional attitude. I asked Hi I made an appt at 4 do you know how much longer it would be? Her Response in the coldest manner was I dont know what to tell you I have 3 people in from of you. Then she turned around and continued working. I mean how rude! I would not have minded waiting if she said oh im sorry i am running late or can you come back later or look I can't do it but maybe my collegaue can. But nothing she acted as if she did't care. Well Jackie if you are reading this you are rude and I will never ever recommned you or this place. Keep in mind you are not a high profile stylist if you were you would be in the demands of Jennifer lopez but you are not you are just cutting kids hair. So get over yourself and start acting more professional. The only person that gets a star there was Cheryl she quickly came over and said I will do your sons hair and it wasnt perfect the haircut but at least she apologized for Jackies error and was kind enough to take my son in as she had other haircuts to do. I really hope this Salon get a reality check in how to treat their clients. To remember these are CHILDREN small Children who are the clients. If you can't do the job in the right manner quit and find something else to do. If only yelp had a minus 1000 stars this place would get it!!!! read more
