Fresh Tuna Belly Roll with green onion

My first time here. A Beautiful Resturant with a patio on Preston St. Friendly service and fabulous Tuna belly roll with green onion. Its the taste of quality you wish for! I will be back.

After a long morning at the office I started to crave some sushi. So I went to my local sushi bar on Preston street. When I entered there was a friendly attendant who greeted me, I told her that I was interested in their lunch menu. I checked the whole menu, their prices were fair. I chose the bento box 1 (lunch special)..I probably waited less than 10min for my order to be completed. I took the chance to check out the restaurant. It is extremely clean and elegantly decorated, the staff is very attentive of their customers. Great place to be! When I got to the office, I was blown away by the aesthetic of the presentation and the scrumptious taste of each item in my bento box. I will go back..they definitely know the art of sushi.

My friend and I always go back to Kiko, mainly because they do have a lot of vegetarian options for me. Also it's right in the middle of Little Italy which is where we like to hang out. My favorite gelato shop is across the sheet. I like the interior design of the restaurant. It's very pretty, very clean. The staff is very friendly when you walk in and very accommodating. For anyone who needs to be gluten free like I do (celiac disease), this place is GF-friendly. They can make most of their maki rolls gluten free. The only ones they cannot make gluten free are the ones that have soy sauce as a marinating sauce. But what I like about this place was that our server was really knowledgable about what could or couldn't be gluten free. She also asked for some maki rolls to be changed so I could eat it. And they even had gluten free tamari sauce! I've been to many sushi places in Ottawa and very few have tamari sauce. I had the yasai maki, kappa maki, sweet potato maki, and a few others that I found were simply delicious. My friend loved the dragon and spider rolls. We just kept ordering more. We also shared edamame. In a way I prefer to eat à la carte over all you can eat. With the latter, you can get pulled into the "eat as much as you can" theme and you don't quite enjoy the experience that you are supposed to feel when eating out. Some people I know have pointed out that it isn't authentic sushi but western sushi, but let's be real: this is Ottawa. We barely have quality ramen shops, and sushi can be great but it is nothing like what you will experience in other larger cities in Canada. The food here is yummy, and the eating experience is great. I recommend it.

I've been craving Asian food but there aren't a lot of Asian people or cuisine in Ottawa. When I saw this place, I got very excited and walked in without thinking about anything! Well, the place had very pretty and colorful Asian-style decors. Also, the seats are very comfortable! Those cushions!! I could sit there all day! I went around 1/1:30pm, so it was right after lunch time rush. Because there weren't many customers, the waitress was extra attentive and friendly. I was very thirsty and downed the glass of water very quickly, and she would come frequently to refill my glass! Based on the environment and service, I would give this place at least a 4 star. However, the food I got was bad. Maybe I should've gotten sushi or asked for the waitress's recommendations on the customers' favorites. I got the duck spring rolls and Korean-style wings. The spring roll had too much meat and not enough veggies! Since it was a spring roll I was expecting it to be more veggie based. The lack of veggies made it rather heavy! The Korean wings were very fat and hairy. I think the sauce is pretty good and spicy, but I can't do fatty wings.

Nice food, unhappy waitress. Interesting Will go there again for the sushi and salad!

Pretty expensive for mediocre to decent quality fish. The sashimi is not very fresh or high quality. For example, the salmon sashimi was not very fatty and the tuna was frozen. I may be coming off as cynical and picky, but I expected higher quality for the price tag. The Kraken, a flagship item, was also a let down. For 22$, I expected actual sashimi to be in the roll, not just imitation crab stick. While Kiko Sushi bar has the atmosphere and service of a higher priced sushi place, the food definitely is not up to par.

Visited Kiko for dinner a couple of weeks ago on a Friday evening. Nice looking place overall. Tried a number dishes including the beef tataki, the kraken (full squid), the chirashi don and the mango tango rolls. Overall, this was some of the best Japanese food I've had in Ottawa to date. That being said, the food is certainly a bit more expensive than other comparable places. The only real downside was the the service - although friendly, it took over an hour to receive our order - glad to say at least it was worth the wait!

We made a reso and decided to try this out for dinner as we were both super craving sushi. When we got here we were greeted warmly it was extremely clean and well laid out. The food was pretty good, the sashimi and sushi was extremely fresh and very tasty.

The oysters and sea urchins are the best!

I've had sushi plenty in Vancouver and Toronto, and this place was disappointing in comparison (even to Toronto sushi). I think AYCE sushi is more popular in Ottawa. This is one of the few places that do a la carte. I found the prices to be a bit expensive for what you get. 3 of us shared a sushi and sashimi party tray. It came to around $30 a person, and was quoted on the menu to be for about 3-4 people. I would say it's barely enough for 3 very small people, let alone 4. It did not come with miso soup or salad. The quality of the sushi was nothing to be amazed about. Although it was probably a bit better than AYCE, I think for the prices, I'd expect better quality sushi. If I had to, I'd choose AYCE sushi over this in Ottawa. Also, in terms of authenticity, I think this place is Chinese owned. It is a small establishment, so if you want to be sure you get a table, I'd recommend reservations. There is street parking available on Somerset. I likely won't be back, and will definitely try my hardest to persuade my friends to go elsewhere if they want to come back.

Their sushi is delicious, especially for takeout sushi. I decided to get a platter for dinner for my husband and I. I got their Maki Platter A, which is 36 pieces for $47.95. You get 8 pieces of California, 8 pieces of Spicy Salmon, 10 pieces of Dynamite and 10 pieces of Orange Dragon. UberEats was having a special where if you spend $40 or more you save $11. So I ordered through UberEats for pick up and saved $11 :) Note that with this deal you pay taxes on the regular price and then get $11 off the post-tax total. It took about 25 minutes and pick up was quick. Staff were nice. The rolls were delicious. I loved that the rolls were mostly filling with very little rice. I had requested no sesame seeds and that was no problem at all. The California rolls had cucumber and surimi crab and was topped with masago. The Spicy Salmon rolls had raw salmon mixed with spicy mayo and was topped with tempura bits. The Dynamite rolls had shrimp tempura, avocado, cucumbers, and surimi crab and was topped with masago. The Orange Dragon rolls were Dynamite rolls with the additional topping of sliced raw salmon and sliced avocado. While everything was tasty, I did feel that this platter could have used more variety. The Dynamite and Orange Dragon rolls were too similar. Nonetheless, my husband and I enjoyed the platter. I feel it's a good size for dinner for 2 people. Glad to have discovered this sushi takeout joint near my current work place. It's so convenient to pick up a platter for dinner. Street parking or paid parking in the various nearby lots only.

I had lunch at Yuzumi and it was delicious!…read more Yuzumi opened in August 2019 and took over the space that was The Bowl. It serves primarily poke/rice bowls, sandwiches, and sushi rolls. I had the Shrimp Po Boy Sandwich with a side salad ($13.95). I loved that the shrimp in the Po Boy was not breaded/deep fried, so it didn't taste greasy or oily at all. The amount of shrimp was good, as I had shrimp in each bite. The sauce had a slight spicy kick to it, and the cabbage slaw added a nice crunchy texture, and a bit of creaminess without being too rich. The bread was dense and it held the sandwich together well, the bread did not get soggy and the sandwich did not fall apart. I thoroughly enjoyed the sandwich. The side salad was real mixed greens (hurray for no iceberg and no romaine!). It had shredded carrots, cucumbers and grape tomatoes. Vegetables were fresh, and the dressing arrived on the side as requested. The dressing was a sweet and sour vinaigrette, which I enjoyed, as it wasn't too oily. Service was friendly and the place was bright and clean. The layout is unchanged from when the space was The Bowl. It's a very casual eatery for a quick meal, by yourself or with coworkers or friends. Not exactly a romantic spot for a date, IMO. There's one gender-neutral washroom at the back of the restaurant. It was clean. A great place to grab lunch/early dinner (they close at 5pm) if you work at Tunney's Pasture, or live nearby. I'm looking forward to trying their other options! Street parking only.
