I was visiting a friend and asked her about hers. She said I have to get mine done, come with me. We arrived at Rio nails rather late with her 2 daughters in tow plus the baby. I asked for artificial nails and she sat me down and proceeded to work. There was a rather large gap between what she added and my cuticle. She claimed she could not go closer. I have had my nails done since the 80's. I have never had an issue like this. The woman had a huge attitude also. As I suspected, she deliberately shorted the nails so I would return sooner. In the many years I have had my nails done, I have had them last 6 weeks, usually 8 before a redo. My nails just do not grow. Here it is 3 weeks, and these are lifting. No, not on your life would I ever return to this place. 1. attitude. The woman was outright rude to me, ordering that I control the kids. They are not my kids 2. refusing to do an adequate job, Arrogant attitude when I asked about what she was doing. and 3. Price! $76!!! I am furious. I feel cheated. I come in and there was a 2 hour wait for a gel manicure.... with plenty of empty chairs and nobody waiting besides me and another lady, they should make sure they have enough workers. Specially on a Saturday afternoon. I've been trying different places for the past two years and I just wasn't impressed with the quality of work. I'm glad that I turned to the guidance of my fellow yelpers! They steered me in the right direction! I was a bit leary of the 5 STAR review at first. It's very rare that a place with such amazing reviews actually lives up to it's high rating! I called in the morning and was delighted to be able to get an appointment for this afternoon! I went in for a regular pedi and a gel french tip mani with a design. Trisha was the lovely nail tech that provided my services. Wow! I don't say this very often but I was more than impressed with her work! Not only was she very skilled and talented with her work, she was also very friendly and a pleasure to be around. I can happily say that I have finally found my new nail place! Through the entire almost 2 hours I was there, the only conversation she initiated was about my diet, sugar intake, and how I could be "much more pretty" if I lost some weight. My nails weren't trimmed and filed. And there was quite a bit of shellac around the outside of my toe nails. Also the fastest pedicure I've ever had. Probably 20 minutes total. She didn't take her time. She was going to do my manicure but I opted not to get one because of the bad pedicure. I paid $50 for this. Also when paying she threw my card back at me. I was never rude. Nor did I complain. I'm assuming she was upset because I didn't leave a tip.

My nail tech this time was Sam, and he was super rude and kept getting extremely frustrated with me and the position of my hands/wrist. No matter how I moved it, it was never good enough. This has never been an issue anytime I have gotten my nails done & especially wasn't an issue when I got my nails done with Van. At one point, he stopped what he was doing, stared at me straight faced, took his tool and continuously kept tapping his tool in my hand until I "fixed" the position of it. He kept shaking his head & huffing & puffing the whole time. He told me not to look at him & even mentioned something about "fighting", but couldn't hear the full context. He never once smiled, or anything at the end and just moved on to the next person. Van had to stop what she was doing to check me out at the counter. I of course did not tip and left a note on the receipt about him. I will not be returning because of him. Do not book with Sam!
