I was absolutely exhausted from packing, but Tim and Wayne took care of everything. They were all-around decent guys -- hardworking. clear, polite, careful with my furniture and other items. They packed everything up and took care of items that I wasn't sure how to pack -- such as a lamp. They made sure that everything was safely delivered. This was all surprising, since their price is lower than other moving companies. The price was low, but the quality of service was high. They were fast, strong, careful. Careless and Unresponsive Movers I hired Kilroy Bros to move my parents to a senior living facility in April of 2024. It has taken me some time to write this review because of things discovered after the move and their lack of resolution. While the person I contacted (Stacy) was very friendly upfront and even helped my parents sort through some stuff upfront, things went downhill from there. On moving day, the movers were cordial but even as they were moving things I noticed multiple boxes stacked on top of other boxes that said "fragile" as they were wheeled into the apartment and they were visibly being crushed at the edges. Once we got everything in and opened things up, we saw that several items had been broken either due to poor wrapping (a service paid for by us and provided by them) and/or because of lack of care in the moving process, These included several glasses, a vase and an antique tea pot that my mother loved among others. As we unpacked, we also realized that among several items that were missing was my mothers jewelry box , which along with everyday jewelry had several sentimental and irreplaceable items in it including both of my grandmothers' wedding rings. There were also several other items that we noticed missing in the weeks since after getting 100% unpacked. We notified Stacy of the broken items as well as the missing jewelry on the spot and she was verbally apologetic and even took pictures of the tea pot with the brand name as she said sometimes they can find these online and that they would investigate. Since that time we never heard a thing back from her despite multiple emails and phone messages. I must admit that I was at first a bit skeptical that anyone would have taken stuff from an elderly couple. However, after combing through everything and knowing that my mothers jewelry box was there the day before the move (and going back to their old house to make sure it wasn't somehow left behind) as well as being ghosted by the person who said they would help resolve it, I felt it was worth writing this review. Whether someone stole the items or not, they clearly broke several items and acknowledged it, and then did NOTHING about it. Frankly, I rarely write reviews even after subpar service because I like to just move on. However, since that time my mother has expressed her regrets about even making the move because of the loss of these cherished items and that is heartbreaking to hear (this is after she has also personally reached out to Kilroy several times with zero response). Consistent with several other reviews I would warn people against using their services as they will sound great upfront but service and follow-up are somewhere between negligent and criminal. read more

This is my second review as it has taken me some time to discover everything that was damage and broken. I should have known when the guy on the truck asked me which side of my furniture I want to be the scratched side, in fact, i have found big dings on all of furniture. I packed well in uhaul boxes with bubble wrap, and my plant pots were broken in a box. Honestly, it was like these guys ruined my stuff on purpose. They took a priceless piece of art that was out separate for me to take and never should have taken ; it is missing never to be found, between my door and the truck apparently......... Best mover's for me. I had 3 guys show up after I was given a great price I had a big house raised ranch then moved to a town or two over. The guys that came had a big truck 3 men and they had the whole house done in 3 1/2 hours. Great job nothing broke. Moved some big pieces that were a pain to get out of some door ways. I was happy to tip them all well and get them pizza and soda. It was a hot day and they kept it moving I was very happy and would use them again. Great local company and great professional mover's. Just finished moving from our 2 bedroom condo into our 4 bedroom home with this company. The four guys were super nice! Not gonna lie, maybe a little rough around the edges but who cares. They did an incredible job. The were fast, efficient and hard working. They really busted their asses. They moved all our stuff in like, what, 3 hours? No issues with lost items. I know I read somewhere in these reviews people were unable to find their expensive watches or whatever. Maybe I'm just paranoid but I told my husband to make sure we bring over our fragile and expensive stuff. Stuff we don't want to lose... or break. And we did that...plates, bowls, jewelry... I mean, I'm capable enough to do SOME moving. So we left the heavy lifting to them and everything worked out great! TVs, living room set, bedroom set, mattresses. Earlier today my wife and I were ready to move our house from Needham to Boston -- after weeks and days of sorting and packing we were ready to go -- with one major glitch: the movers we had hired never showed! This is where Kilroy comes in. An hour and a half after the time the other movers were supposed to show I called Kilroy begging for a crew to move s today. Stacey answered the phone and was friendy and helpful. She took my information and promised to call me in 20 minutes. She did -- this was the first of several promises on which Kilroy delivered..... They were able to pull a crew together at our house by noon -- Tom, Terry, and David. These guys were great -- despite it being an extremely hot and humid day they worked like dogs and completed the whole move in 3.5 hours. They had done a move earlier in the day but were still helpful and good humored. I can't stress what a good job they did in the heat ad on short notice. I would highly recommend Kilroy to anyone! 3 movers were pleasant - but not competent. Pack up took about an hour+ and they stopped at Dunkin Donuts on way to destination while on the clock. What should have been 20 min drive to new home became almost an hour. Lost 2 boxes that they said they'd pay special attention to. One was just cleaning supplies which they said they usually don't take but told me to cover it with a towel and they'd take it. That can be replaced easily but the second box was precious to me and wherever their "safe place on the truck" is is evidently not safe at all! Boxes were never found. Broke the corner of a dresser and dropped the base of the tv, and scratched a wall in move out home. Office said they shouldn't have taken a break, taken a tv not in a carton- they should have said that instead of being careless. I can't say enough positive things about Kilroy Brothers Moving! I highly recommend them. I called their office a few times ahead of the move with questions and I was always treated very nicely. On the day of the move, which was an extremely cold day, the movers arrived on schedule and they were very efficient and courteous. They took the stress out of the moving day because they had everything covered. We didn't have to worry about a thing! Moved and stored furniture that was only 3 months old with Kilroy brothers last March 2019,just had it moved into our New place a week and a half ago, all 3 pieces of brand new bedroom furniture were damaged. Also While they were moving the chase piece to the sectional the the sides which are leather was torn and damaged as well we had to stop the guy from doing further damage to it while coming up the stairs . A call was made immediately to the office, Michelle put Carl the owner in the phone who in turn was going to take Care of everything with "his repair professional " Craige " ASAP. An appointment was made with craige for that Friday, he came fixed the wood bedroom furniture pieces he doesn't repair leather ? called the office immediately Carl was out until the the following Tuesday ? they would have him get back to us with another means of repair for the coach. Friday comes no return call we call leave a message no return call, still Today Monday 1/27 I call Michelle gives us to Diane a different office woman ?? Who in turns tells us there is nothin else they can do ? And gives us Carl's cell number... odd we call Carl he says sorry you didn't buy extra insurance coverage I'm not paying to have a different person come fix your couch your sol .... really you already admitted your mover (guy) did this damaged on move in day while your son was actually there and assured us you'd take care of This. We had to stop him before more damage was done while coming up the stairs with the piece . I'll be contacting the better business bureau ( which I will be doing ) he yells take me to court and hangs up. These guys moved my Mom out of the house she's lived in for close to 40 years. Jay and Steve were great. After I went over the house with them, I asked what the next steps would be and they said, "we're gonna rock and roll!". Terrible. Showed up with one old guy and a younger scrony boy and couldn't get the couch in the apartment. They offered to hold it without charge till we found an alternative option. A month later when we wanted the couch, they didn't have it. I'm guessing one of the workers sold it. So $300 for moving the couch and ended up not even having a couch. Kilroy Bros. moved us on 11/1/18. 6 men showed up and after 2 hours, two of the movers exchanged words and got into a brawl in our dining room, resulting in a 2'x2' hole in the wall and clumps of hair on the floor. It took several other men to break up the fight and caused significant distress to my wife as she was screaming for them to stop fighting and get out of our home. When I called Karl ( the owner of the company) to ask him to make this situation right (ie. discount the bill ) he told me he would have the damage fixed(which he did) he also offered a $500 discount (13% on a $3800 bill) and when I said that wasn't good enough he said "I'm not going to lose money on this job". I was stunned but considering I was literally in the middle of a very stressful move I accepted stating "Karl if you think $500 makes this right then so be it, I don't have time to deal with this now". The move continued and they then proceeded to "lose" a box of my wife's shoes ($3000), one of the men that was in the fight took our cabinet hardware with him when he was thrown off the job and I was told I would have it back in 1-2 days, it took 5 days to get it back. He didn't care that grown men were fighting in my home, that my wife was traumatized by the events, that his company took my property to his warehouse and didn't get it back to me for 5 days, that a box of expensive shoes were lost in a move that was 4 miles long. After the emotions settled down I spoke to Karl and asked him to "make this situation right" and his response, once again showed that he does not care about his customers. He told me, you accepted $500 off the total bill and we fixed the damage to your house so we consider this matter closed. I can't emphasize enough how bad an experience we had with Kilroy Bros. Can't say enough good things about these guys. They've done three moves for me. One regular move, one piano move and one move that also included the piano. Each time they've done a fantastic job. Really personable guys who clearly care for your stuff. They work hard. They love to talk but I'd call them again in a heartbeat. That piano is my baby and both times it has been moved with the utmost of care. My estimate was done by the owner and told if it took less time my amount would be less and it was. Even held some things for 2 week to be delivered to our daughter's new apartment. Every thing was great, nothing broken, nothing missing, everything packed well. Price quoted was the final price we paid, no hidden extras. Crew of Richie, Mike and Germain (and the other Mike) could not have been more attentive, helpful, friendly and humorous. They were very polite and conciencious of all of my items. Since my house is small I was worried about them getting a couch out and mine in, they had some trouble getting the one out but were persistent and finally got it! I moved about 2 years ago from one apartment to another. I asked on Facebook if anyone could recommend a mover and Kilroy Brothers was unanimously recommended. I called them to book, they were good on the phone and even better in person. They had my apartment on the truck within 45 minutes, found the new place w/o incident and had me unpacked from the truck in about 30 minutes. Not to mention, that if we changed our mind on where we wanted something, they told us not to worry and would move it to the other side of the room. Moved a 4 bedroom house in 4.5 hours with 40 minutes of travel and a stop at a storage unit. 6 months later, they moved us from a 2 bedroom apartment in 5 hours with only 10 minutes of travel and no stops. The foreman was sooo unprofessional and hurried my move which caused many items to be broken, damaged and lost. Not a company to be trusted. THIEVES!!!! Ever since we've moved we keep finding things missing - expensive things. We actually have filed a police report. HORRIBLE COMPANY! The crew gave me the creeps and kept asking for more money. "Oh, we disconnected your washer... so you don't need a plumber - give us what you'd give him! hahahaha" Yeah, funny. Then when they had to come to our house a second time (long story - big scam) they asked for SEVERAL hundred dollars more than was quoted!! The owner did stand by his original quote, but the crew seems to have made the difference by taking our things. Can't prove it... but I'm positive (my Cartier watch that was in the house while I was outside, was off by 20 minutes after the move... it wasn't the battery - it had been tampered with). HORRIBLE crew... horrible experience. And months later - still finding things "missing"!!!! Like, where are some of my husbands expensive golf clubs? They fell out of the bag? BULL!!!! We were trying to sell a bedroom set through a consignment shop who hired Kilroy to come pick up the furniture. The movers showed up to our house completely unprepared to move the large items. After a failed attempt to move some of it, they said they were going outside to call their shop. The movers then proceeded to leave without saying a word and accidentally took two wooden, screw-on toppers that attach to large bed posts and are necessary in order to put the bed together. The furniture is somewhat old and is very expensive and we cannot simply replace these pieces. A few weeks later, after we decided not to sell the furniture through the shop, we called to see if Kilroy had the pieces and they said they never saw them. The movers who were originally sent to the house did not seem very professional and this experience confirms it. They also left two of their own wheeled carts here. 10/10 would NOT recommend. Extremely upset about the bed pieces, which belonged to my late mother. read more
