The staff were super friendly, and the prices were about what I'd expect for a busy tourist area. Parking is the usual paid parking nearby, and it's just a short walk from the beach. The good... plenty of sweet treats just minutes from the beach, a short walk. The lower fat Greek yogurt with raspberry swirl was delicious, not overly sweet and had a full fat flavor. The bad...pricing. Coming from New York, we expect tourist areas to charge more and are highly accustomed to high price points. However $7.95 +tax for one scoop on a regular cone still felt exorbitant. No one else in the family wanted ice cream but I had been wanting to try Kilwins for quite some time, so I ventured alone and although no complaints about quality, ice cream could be had locally for quite a bit less elsewhere. Would I go back? Maybe but I'd really have to be in the mood for something sweet, and close my eyes to the pricing. I had a sweet tooth and went for a drive to the beach so decided to go in . I saw the Dubai chocolate truffle and some other chocolates and ice cream to choose from. I wanted chocolate and I am a dark chocolate person but they didn't seem to have a lot of the dark ones . I purchased the Dubai chocolate but it was milk chocolate and was on side of a regular tasting chocolate to me. I did see Halloween apples and cookies that looked creative but didn't want to purchase . Some fall ice cream flavors like pumpkin are available now too. Thanks for the response. However, nothing in the response is substantive. You don't even explain what the surplus charge is for. Anyway, I learned that nearby Whit's charges $6.50 for two scoops so that's where my subsequent ice cream store visits have been this trip. *** Been going here for years when down from the north. It's walkable from our condo. Their toasted coconut is our favorite flavor. Even my wife gets it while she usually gets chocolate elsewhere. But the portions are now definitely way less and the price definitely way higher. A small dish or cone used to allow you to get two different flavors and tonight we were told that's no longer allowed. Just one scoop and not very big at that. Some places that sell you one scoop give you like one and a half. And the price with sales tax and something called surplus (which I cannot figure out even after googling it) is $7.87 each. While I like that ice cream, I can't see spending that much for a scoop. I could buy a two pints of Ben & Jerry's or Häagen-Dazs for about $1 more than one scoop here and it will be a much better value and just as good. read more

I have never been to Kilwins shop at Deerfield Beach, FL , so a friend recommended that I go since their ice cream was great. So today, I finally visited the shop. Asked for a certain ice cream, but it was at the bottom of the container, so asked the employee if she had a new container and she said yes. Then another employee came over and told me that I had to take the ice cream from the bottom since they didn't have a new container. This of course wasn't true. I did not get my ice cream and would not recommend going there. Poor customer service. read more

I don't know if it had too much air or what, but it severely missed the mark for a $5.00 small portion. It didn't have the consistency of ice cream, it was kind of like a soft serve. It's hard to describe the product, it just wasn't a frozen consistency. Moreover, it didn't taste like ice cream. It had little taste and was very-very disappointing. I am not a diabetic but I act like one and to me when I hear Kilwins I think sugar rush! I also think FUDGE! NO ONE LOVES fudge like I do! So after looking at all the beautiful hand dipped chocolates, fudges, marzipan fruit I asked the guy behind the counter if they had any sugar free candy. My friend was like they wouldnt have that here. I said, "If they dont they would be crazy!" They did and I got myself a box of turtles which is chocolate, caramel and pecans and mind you its sugar free! I moseyed up to the ice cream counter and looked over those sweets and decided upon the lemon gelato! My friend got a vanilla based ice cream and it was called cookie batter. I didnt try that but I did enjoy every scoop of the lemon gelato i had in the cup I bought. The PERFECT thing to be on the beach is an ice cream shop that had hand dipped chocolated and candies. Dont forget my favorite the FUDGE! They have it all at Kilwins. I am so glad we stopped here for dessert! I loved my lemon gelato! I cant wait to try my sugar free turtles! I try and watch what I eat but this treat I had to get for myself! Go in not hungry or you will buy one of everything. Very disappointed in the customer service! Sunday May 28,2023. We passed the other Gelato place in front of Flannigans to go to Kilwins since we always enjoy Kilwins. According to Yelp and the sign on the door it closes at 11pm! We arrived at 1030pm with 5 girls from a volleyball team, only to be turned away from the employee, stating they were closing early due to short staff problems. I may be wrong but it shouldn't take more than 1 employee to scoop ice cream to 5 more customers before closing! This isn't how you should treat customers especially kids! We went to the Gelato place down the street and were treated very well! I'm glad we gave them our business! read more

Homemade yum! I was in during the day last Thursday and was the only one in there. The fellow helping me out was so patient answering all my questions. They have so many options it took me a while to decide on a perfect birthday treat. I got an assortment of chocolates that were soo tasty. Great quality. The ice cream was amazing! I got a medium scoop of chocolate peanut butter and another of their famous turtle ice cream. The turtle ice cream was the best! It's like a caramel ice cream with chocolate covered pecans it was so good! It was about $18 for everything not bad for homemade goodies. I'll be back for some turtle fudge next! read more

The two women that were working there tonight (2/10) were welcoming and friendly. Very patient in allowing us to sample the ice cream flavors. The store is bright and cheery. It is close to the beach so a nice place to stop by for a delicious treat. It is in an excellent location next to the parking garage so they will stamp your ticket for a free hour. We've been to this Kilwin's location now twice and we loved it both times! The ice cream is superior to most other places, especially the marshmallow s'mores and the toasted coconut - which has the most delicious little coconut flakes mixed all throughout it. One of the best coconut ice creams I've found anywhere, including Hawaii. Soooooo tasty. My only complaint would be the abruptness of the woman working the second time we came. The first time we came, one of the male workers was amazing, he even let me split one of my scoops into two flavors so I could try three different flavors. This was awesome! The lady working the second time mentioned something about split scoops but then when I asked about it she very curtly told me that wasn't a thing she could do. Oooookay? No other place has ice cream better than this. I love the pecan flavors they have, I normally ask for the small one, more than enough. My husband likes the roasted coconut and banana. It is also really good. My daughter always picks the same bloom moon, since they removed the super man from menu. The super man colors were reproved by fda. They make their own waffle cones, always fresh and crunchy. The location is perfect, if you park in the garage, kilwins stamps your ticket and you get one free hour. Terrible customer service. I'm a local. I walk to the store a couple times a week for my pecan Carmel apple, which they NEVER have. The girl yesterday told me she doesn't know how to make them and she would make sure the guy who does will make them tomorrow and put one aside for me. So I walk back there today (I'm 74) and as expected no apple. The manager said he's too busy to make them and he can't train the "young kids". I've lived in the areas for years and I'm constantly begging for them to make me an apple :( I guess I'm going to have to get in my car and drive to another location. We go to Kilwins regularly and have been to other locations even closer to the water. Why is it $20 for two scoops of ice cream and one of us didn't even get a cone? Every other kilwins I've been to we've both gotten cones and it was $14. Way over priced for no reason and the place looks very rundown and not maintained/cleaned. Nowhere to sit and ice cream was like soft serve it was so runny. Wouldn't recommend this location of kilwins. Such a disappointment. read more

The ice cream was delicious! The workers inside were pleasant and friendly. Parking in the garage was easy. There are only outside tables. Unfortunately, the group of kids outside ruined the atmosphere for my family. The children ranged in age from 9-15. They were using extremely explicit language at a very loud volume. What a great Kilwins! The moment I walked in I was struck by an overwhelming smell of deliciousness. It is a very CLEAN store with a broad selection of treats. SALTED CARAMEL ICE CREAM!! I love ice cream. It's one of my favorite things in the world. This salted caramel ice cream was so very good!!
