Dua is a do. I thought is was excellent on both visits. The ice cream is fantastic. Its not the creamy, soft cream rich gelato I've had on trips to Italy. And it's much much harder than frozen yogurt soft serve. Maybe it is Italian versions gelato but it's frozen really firm. Dua is a tiny place with 4 tables and a few more outside on the sidewalk. New and clean all around. Located right next to Sicilian Oven in lighthouse point. Second visit I repeated the Cherry. I'm recommending this one. I paired it with Caramel. It too was very good. Same guy, the owner, each time and he's a pleasant dude that will chat with you. I gave only 4 stars as i haven't tried the espresso coffees or muffins. First visit I had the cherry. Well it was so good I had it on both visits. I first paired it with the coffee (espresso). The coffee was super mild in coffee flavor. Frozen solid but on a good note it had a few roasted beans in it. It wasn't a repeat but the cherry...!!! Fantastic. read more

This little gelato shop is in our neighborhood. The chef is from Italy and the gelato is great. They have a wide selection including sorbet. I highly recommend the mint chocolate chip and pistachio. Both are soooo good! read more

This is a new gelato and coffee shop that opened in the Beacon Light Shopping center off of Federal Highway in Pompano Beach. This shopping plaza is across the street from Raising Canes Chicken. In addition to gelato they also serve my favorite Julius Meinl coffee. As a fan of Italian gelato I decided to stop in for an afternoon treat. Why gelato instead of ice cream? It is lower in fat than ice cream as well as creamier and smoother, it is served at a warmer temperature than ice cream so you are better able to taste the more intense flavors, and lastly it's not scooped but served with a spade. They had a lot of flavors to choose from like chocolate, Ferre Rocher, Biscoff, chocolate, vanilla, coffee, mint chocolate, tiramisu, hazelnut, pistachio, strawberry berries, mango, and passion fruit. I finally decided on a scoop pf coconut and white chocolate. The coconut had flakes of coconut in it while the white chocolate had white chocolate chips and was topped by a piece of luxurious white fudge. While the gelato was fine the reason I won't be back is I was overcharged. I didn't realize until I got home that the two scoops in a cup was supposed to be $7.50. Instead I was charged $12! It seemed like too much at the time and I should have taken more time to straighten it out especially since the man that was helping me didn't seem familiar with what he was doing. Unfortunately I was a bit distracted as I was in a hurry because I had to get back to work. Lesson learned, ask more questions when something doesn't seem right. read more

A GREAT GELATO Find! Located next to the Sicilian Oven this sweet treasure is new, bright, cheerful and serves up some of the best gelato around! Their Grand Opening is February 1st and sure to make a lot of locals and snowbirds Happy during their trip to this plaza. We had great service from the owner who was very knowledgeable and informative. My wife enjoyed her Coconut scoop and White Chocolate combo, while I savored every smooth bite of my White Chocolate Gelato with delicious bits of white chocolate throughout. (Single cup scoops are $6 and $7 for two scoops). They offer coffees of your choice along with various baked cookies to complement your sweet tooth. We enjoyed our experience and will certainly be back to try some of the other flavors! read more

If you like gelato this is the place to come. So happy to have this new sweet local place to come to and enjoy. We got great service from the owner. Their grand opening is next weekend. But warm days have been keeping them busy until then. I got a two scoop cup -- coconut gelato and white chocolate gelato. Both were yummy, but even though my favorite flavor is coconut, the white chocolate won me over. There are chunks of white chocolate every now and then within the scoop. Wow. That's not to say the coconut wasn't good -- it was wonderful with real flakes of coconut, as well. They also have cookies, crepes, coffees, and other things besides gelato. They have some vegan ones, even. We look forward to coming back and trying some more of the different gelato flavors that they offer. read more

I felt transported to Italy! Seriously, this new spot in Lighthouse Point reminds me of the great gelato shops in Italy. A Roman gelato shop owner told me years ago, "If you go into a shop and see the pistachio is green, that means they use food coloring and don't use high quality ingredients. That's a litmus test." So when we popped in Dua Gelato, you can bet that's what I first looked for! And yep, their pistachio is NOT green! They told me they source many of their ingredients from Italy. We were greeted warmly. The shop is adorable and inviting, and there are several tables inside and outside. If you are curious about a flavor, they'll give you a sample. They have traditional gelato and also some fruit sorbets. They offer crepes and have a coffee bar, too. The gelato was smooth and decadent. Lovely flavors with the dulce de leche and cherry option that I picked. My husband loved the coffee flavor (which seems to be the most popular). The serving sizes are generous, and the price is more than fair. As word gets out and the temperature starts heating up, I have to imagine Dua is going to be very popular. It's located in a bustling shopping center, so it will attract neighborhood locals and others as well. I wish them lots of success because they deserve it! read more

This gelato shop is fantastic! The texture is rich and creamy, just like classic gelato should be. I love that it's a family owned business, and the fact that it's just minutes from home makes it even better. I got the coconut flavor, and it was incredibly smooth and flavorful. What's Amazing? Bacchi & Georgie! Two marvelous character's! They love what they do and they make the "Best FRESH GELATO" every day! I think I have sampled almost every flavor in the store and usually walk out with 2 -5 Different flavors in the large freezer styrofoam boxes. My favorites are the Cherry , coconut , strawberry , vanilla. . .these two guys feel like instant friends. . .you can call ahead so your order is ready or have fun sampling in the store. Exquisito!!! This is the 1st time I've experienced gelato in the USA that is genuinely like I had on the beaches of Lido, in St Mark's Square, and in Rome. I guess part of the authenticity is the owner's brother, whom he convinced to come from Italy, with alll the insider knowledge! My favourite is the hazelnut!
