VERY GOOD FOOD! After a stressful Monday at work, I felt deserving of a treat. Korean food was calling me and I wanted to try someplace new. Im glad I decided to try Kimchee & Rice! Their food is delicious! I placed my order thru GrubHub and everything arrived on time, well packaged and correct. I ordered Pa Jeon, Veggie Bibimbop, Japchae, Veggie Kimbop and their Korean Miso Soup. Every item was fresh and very tasty. I was impressed with the quality of the food. Im vegetarian so I was glad to see so many meat free items on their menu. Whether or not you're familiar with Korean food, give Kimchee & Rice a try. There is something on the menu sure to please everyone. The food is SO GOOD HERE. Highly recommend.

Signature kimbap on left and bulgogi kimbap on right. Both are delicious.

A fabulous Korean with excellent and varied kimchi. Their zucchini banchan was heavenly as were their kimbaps (we tried signature and bulgogi). Definitely recommended if you want some fabulous Korean food.

I ordered here first online and got the spicy pork and veggie bibimbap. Those were enough to get me to have an in person visit! I came after the lunch rush and had a chance to talk to the owner who made me feel right at home. It felt comfortable and relaxed. I ordered the bulgogi, homemade kimchi, and the Korean fried chicken. Of course, my favorite soju was available and if you get the Terra you may get a fun surprise! Food was 10/10! The bulgogi (made from ribeye) was some of the best I've had. Kimchi flavors were phenomenal. Banchan was paired perfectly. Fried chicken was fantastic - I got the spicy! Overall, I can't recommend this place enough and will be back by myself and with friends and family!

Kind and fast service, fantastic food, and a well cultivated ambiance! I got a bulgogi dolsot bimbimbap, so lovely! If you go with someone else and you both like kimchi, get two of the kimchi flights.

We stopped by here recently. It's newly opened and has a nice selection of Korean dishes, including jjajangmyeon and jjamppong. We ordered the dolsot bibimbap and the soon dubu special. Both came out piping hot. The spice is tailored for a milder palette, but if you like spicy you can ask for it to be adjusted. Service was quick and friendly. Banchan was great. Will be back to try some other dishes.

Kimchee & Rice is so good! The kimchee is fresh and flavorful and pairs well with any of the meat dishes! The kimchi fried rice had really great pork belly on top. Katie (the waitress/ server) is so kind and she makes an effort with each customer!!

Everything was spectacular! Service was great and friendly. Our group couldn't decide what our favorite was because it was all so delicious - the ramen was awesome. Bulgolgi was on point, so was the fried chicken but the galbi was probably my favorite as it had the perfect char. I'll definitely be going back especially in a group. Definitely give this place a try!

Best homemade kimchi in town. True Korean dishes served by the sweetest married couple. Their little side dishes vary each day and it's all made in house. It's always such an exciting visit trying new things and getting a bit of everything with friends. They have 2 beers on draft, different Asian beers in bottles, and soju!! My favorite dish is the soon tofu soup when it's on special. The atmosphere makes me feel like I'm eating dinner in someone's home, it's cozy and inviting, and Katie is seriously the best host. You have to order their kimchi, share their seafood pancake, and try their bulgogi!!

This place is FIRE! Finally tried Kimchee&Rice and I'm so glad I did. The Korean fried chicken was crispy perfection, and those BBQ ribs? Absolutely next level - tender, smoky, and glazed to perfection. But what really made the night was the service. The staff treated us like family and made sure every detail was perfect. Pro tip: They sell their house-made kimchi in jars to take home! We grabbed one and it's been the perfect addition to every meal since. Amazing food, incredible vibes, and service that goes above and beyond. Portland, you NEED to try this spot! Already planning my next visit!

I absolutely love this place! The staff were so welcoming and friendly. The place was clean and roomy, a great place to take friends. The food was delicious! It's hard to find places that serve authentic banchan so this was such a great find and the bbq was super tasty. Also had rice wine which was so good. 10/10!

I was too engrossed in the book that I was reading and completely overshot my stop on the 4. When I got off on Mississippi Ave I looked across the street and saw this Korean restaurant open in between Pistils nursery and Broder. I walked across the street and stepped inside. The place was clean and inviting. I walked up to the register and was greeted by a friendly elder woman. I asked her if the place had just opened and she said it was the 3rd day of their soft opening. I ordered the kimchee fried rice with pork belly. The fried rice has a nice spice at the end and was pretty tasty. The service was quick and I would definitely come back and try more of the menu! I am so happy there is finally a Korean restaurant on Mississippi!

Two bibimbaps to go: one was tofu and the other was spicy pork. Spicy pork is not spicy but looks like it is. Good taste, so it's marinated well and the meat isn't tough to chew, like some other places. I loved the spicy pork bibimbap though. All fresh ingredients! They give a lot of vegetables, which is so nice, because other places are very sparing with their ingredients. I'm usually left with so much rice at the end. However, this place did a good job giving the right amount of ingredients. They also gave a small cup of miso soup - thank you! Would get this again! My husband enjoyed his tofu version. If you're someone who wants spice, add some of the red sauce they give you in a cup. I was very happy the spicy pork wasn't spicy, but I liked being able to control any spice with the red sauce.

Location: This bar is on the first floor of the Hyatt House Portland / Downtown. Ambiance: Pretty quiet and chill. There weren't a lot of people there so it was really easy to get a drink. Drink options: I really loved how they circle around different local beer on tap. They also have a few bottled beer too. They have a cast amount of liquor too. Surprisingly, they had a new bottle of Hennessy when we finished the first (during our stay). Usually a lot of bars in hotels don't have it, so that was a major plus. Bartenders: We met three while we were there. All of them super kind, friendly, and informative of the surrounding area. They gave us lots of tips on what to see, eat, and drink. They were really down to earth people. Pricing: I thought it to be fairly reasonable for a hotel, however I might just be jaded from Bay Area pricing (yikes). What I loved about this bar is that we were able to just chat with the bartender. I didn't feel like I had to go back to my room with my drink (which is usually the case). I was able to talk to a few other people sitting at the bar too. Of course all from out of town, but still nice talking to other friendly strangers. They do serve food at this place, but I didn't really get a chance to try it it since there was soooo many other food joints in the area.

We watched two tables leave without ordering. We waited until our food arrived to receive a drip coffee and a hot tea. (And when it did arrive the coffee was a cold cup of machine rinse. Scant options is rice. Lots of potatoes. Even the condiments were confused; no soy or siracha on the table but ketchup and Tapatio. The general lack of caring by the management is what sticks with me. The sad bowl of sugar packets, jam packets, creamers and stir sticks all thrown together on the table like a mistake. But when I asked for honey or soy our server had to go to the kitchen and get side dishes of these. C'mon y'all. Pay attention to the details. Your customer sure are.

The best thing about it was the location, beautiful area right on the water and the restaurant itself was pretty. The food was fine, but nothing really stood out for me. Maybe I am spoiled living in Los Angeles where there are so many Dim Sum places and dumpling houses. The concept with this restaurant is that it is family style, so it is meant to share, which is great, but the portions I would are small for family style. The noodles are enough for one, dumplings and potstickers, I guess for a small family may be ok, but we had a large group, so we had to order 3-4 of each thing just so people could have some. Probably my favorite thing on the menu were the sweet and spicy cucumbers, although not spicy at all, which was a trend. The dishes that were supposed to be spicy were not, even when we asked for the chili oil, that somehow did not have a spice level to it that was measurable. We ordered cucumbers, noodles, potstickers, dumplings and baos all have options for fried and steamed we got some of each, fried rice, beef pancake rolls, five spice beef, spicy beef (which both tasted the same) and some other items. The best things for me were the cucumbers, the fried potstickers and the jasmine tea. They bring you the dishes as they are ready so the service is constant as they come out. Can be a little slow, but our server was nice and kept track of everything for us and made sure our drinks were full, thank you. Atmosphere - 5 Service- 4 Food - 3 If the location and atmosphere was not so amazing, probably would have given a 3 based on the food, not bad and some high points, but mostly just average IMO. Great vibes here though and would probably come back for that alone and see if it is a different experience with a smaller group or a single family. Enjoy!
