Ordered a variety of different things from different vendors and I ordered the Bulgogi beef burrito, which was OK in flavor a little bland nothing crazy with the ingredients. We came here on a Friday afternoon and had absolutely no wait! The sweetest woman was running the shop and took our order and our food came out so fast. The bulgogi burrito was huge and definitely enough to split with another dish in the garden. I personally love the amount of veggies in there and I liked how it was filled with fried rice rather than plain rice. The bulgogi was a bit on the sweeter side but still delicious. Ooh La La, this is the place to be if you want a teriyaki rice bowl I love their food. It's always fresh fresh meat, fresh rice, and get it the way you want it. You usually get teriyaki chicken and a rice bowl with kimchi and potstickers but I just get the rice in the meat and they always have it fresh and ready for me to eat. They're only open Monday through Friday from 11 to 4 but I make it work. Go there when you can, they're always available right there at the beer garden fifth and Oak. read more

A couple coworkers and I walked to the food carts since we heard it was renovated and it definitely was! Though there were a ton of carts that made decision making a bit hard, I was super intrigued by the idea of a Korean burrito as I had not heard of it before. The burrito itself was $10 and I honestly was dumbfounded on how good it was!! This thing is huge -- around 4lbs is my guess! I could only eat half but it was so flavorful. It included bulgogi, rice and a salad mix with amazing dressing. The picture I have is obviously not great but I definitely recommend this cart. 5th & Oak location feels a little sketch sometimes but well worth it for the food. I was fiending for some tofu tacos and Korean twist didn't disappoint. It was spicy, with plenty of sauce and the tofu was super scrumptious. The tacos aren't very big but they're about average taco size and the fillings were overflowing. We are from out of town and were excited to try a food cart pod, but then when we arrived, I couldn't decide what I wanted. I am normally a sucker for Mexican or gyros, but I am so thankful I stumbled upon this place on Yelp. This place did not disappoint. We walked all over downtown shopping and decided Korean was gonna be it for a late lunch. It started to drizzle so luckily the food came out fairly quick. The area has some "unsavories" but we were not pestered. I ordered the tofu burrito and it was huge and filling for $9. The kid had the bulgogi plate and said it was good. We shared yakisoba and had leftovers of that for later. The yakisoba was not oversaturated in sauce which I liked; however, if you prefer a more bolder taste in your noodle you might be saddened. My burrito had lots of sauce built in, so the noodles provided enough blandness I needed. With that being said, I didn't need to order noodles but thought the burrito wasn't going to fill me. Well it did. I should've stopped halfway, but it was so good I forced myself to eat it all. We walked the 10 minutes to the car in cold and slightly drizzling weather and the food was still warm. Be prepared, there are a lot of homeless in the area asking for loose change/dollars. Many were talking to themselves. I give them vendors credit and will continue to support them. read more

Some of the better foods come out of a truck, right? Even so, if it's Korean, it has a chance of being pretty good. I went with a friend as we walked around for hours around town. We stumbled on the block or city block rather I had a bunch of food trucks all around the perimeter, what a find. Ordered the chicken tacos, as a starter. Since we had planned on hitting other food trucks around the block. The chicken tacos were delicious here, contemplated getting more, but had to stay steadfast in our plan to try other food trucks. Ordered a tofu burrito and some pot stickers, and was super impressed with the value, flavor and portion size. Seriously, they could raise their prices and it would still seem fair. I ordered a burrito bowl from here with extra meat so I could do spicy pork + beef bulgogi and I also added kimchi. It was a pretty good sized portion and only $10 so I found it rather affordable. It essentially was like a big salad with a little bit of rice, but it was delicious. I loved the spicy pork. However I wasn't really a fan of their beef... The quality of the meat didn't seem too good, in taste or looks... I didn't notice till I was almost finished with the meal, but there was some kind of boils on a couple pieces of the beef. Not sure if this is normal but it's not something I've ever seen before? If this is normal someone tell me? Definitely looked really strange, though. Korean tacos are nothing new in these parts, there are as many as 7 other places in truck or food stand form throwing down kimchi quesadillas and bulgolgi tacos. Among them is Korean Twist, one of the only stationary Korean taco stands and located at the infamous 5th & Oak food stand corner of SW Portland. Their bulgolgi (or boolkogi ... stupid romanization standards) tacos are relatively decent and at $7 for 3 tacos with a combo (salad and rice) don't exactly break the bank either. Each taco comes with a few slabs of bulgolgi, dressed by a bit of coleslaw and cilantro. Often times there is too much slaw on the taco and that's where Korean Twist tends to miss the boat a tad. It's not anywhere near Koi Fusion (http://www.yelp.com/biz/koi-fusion-portland) and it might not even trump it's sister location on 10th & Alder (http://www.yelp.com/biz/korean-twist-portland). The $5 kimchi quesadilla is sure to win a few folks over. Fermented kimchi with a little bit of cheese and some zesty salsa picante slapped together in a tortilla tag team is done rather well here. As are their bulgolgi burritos, plump and full of flavor, and widely preferred over their tacos. Tired of bulgolgi? Try the spicy pork for a bulgolgi alternative. I wouldn't recommend going with either of their yakisoba or fried rice plates - you are at a Korean taco joint after all. Just as one wouldn't order a hamburger from a Chinese place just because it's on the menu. What I do like about the cart are the people. The service is so friendly that I still find myself back here whenever I'm at this corner. I'm still holding out the hope they up their KTaco game. read more

Picture a nomadic group of food trucks that finally found their place. That would be the Portland food truck pods on 10th and Alder St. There are so many delicious looking food spots here, that it can be daunting to try and select just one food option. My suggestion is to follow the reviews and the lines. No lines. No eat. I chose Korean Twist because it was right next to my first option, but there was a massive line. Next door, the Korean Twist line was half as long, so I moseyed on over. KT had a decent list of menu options... with a twist, of course. Bulgogi burrito, Bulgogi tacos, and pretty much any type of Korean style meats, but in a taco or burrito form. I went with a lighter option, the Tofu Burrito. The Tofu Burrito was huge; loaded with veggies, brown rice, Kim chi, and large hunks of tofu. This was pretty good and a filling lunch meal option, but it started to fall apart about half way through. Too much sauce and Kim chi helped to soak right through the tortilla and forced me to use a fork and knife to finish. The flavors were there, but this is not a portable meal. I recommend eating this at your desk or a park table. If you don't, at least bring an extra shirt. read more

I'm so tired of paying $10/11 for a sandwich or lunch and that's for the "cheap" lunches. The young guy at the front, he was so friendly. I saw his interaction with each person, super nice guy. It might sound crazy but I did drive for 3 hours from Seattle just to come to the many food stands in Portland. Sorry Seattle but you need to step your food truck/food stand game up! Korean twist was one of the many first stops of my food adventure. The menu was very simple and very easy to read. It offered tacos, burritos, burrito bowls, and quesadillas all with a Korean/Mexican twist. I had the spicy pork burrito without bean sprouts and it was $6. I asked for my burrito without bean sprouts very last minute and the worker did not seem annoyed. The burrito was huge! The first bite I took, I hated the burrito. But after the second or third bite I ended up loving it! It might have been because there was way too much of the sauce from the spicy pork but after biting into the veggie side it all balanced out. This burrito was heaven and it was not messy to eat. I'm looking at you chipotle. I will definitely return in the future when I'm in the Portland area. This place is by far the best Korean/Mexican fusion food stand I've ever tried. It beats marination station back home for sure. read more
