Fantastic! Loved the spicy chicken burger- juicy, tasty, crispy w fresh veggies. The wings were on point- double fried, perfect amount of breading, juicy meat, perfect taste on the sauce (sweet with a little kick). The spicy pork in the taco was delicious and the veggies were also juicy and delicious but my only comment would be that the taco would benefit if the corn tortillas were switched to flour tortillas- would let the pork and veggie flavor shine more! read more

Very yummy! SUPER sweet staff! I tried the popcorn chicken with Korean Sassy Sauce-a sweet bbq style with the perfect amount of spice. My kids devoured them. I also got the Korean corn dogs. Cheese corn dogs were delicious. Also got the boneless fried chicken thighs with half and half sauce. The soy flavored sauce was decently good, but the spicy gochujang one was better! I think they fried the two different flavored thighs separately because the soy flavored ones were considerably crispier and dryer than the super tender gochujang flavored thighs. Menu said the fried chicken comes with pickled radish, but didn't get any. Overall, place is quite pricy, but quality is good. Will continue to stop by for the occasional Korean fried chicken and corn dogs. read more

i was slightly disappointed based on all the positive reviews. we got one of each taco, 1/2 and 1/2 flavor fried chicken thighs, and kimchi fries. the lettuce on the tacos was soggy af, which made it seem not so fresh. they also put the exact same toppings on every taco so the meats aren't really being emphasized through the toppings. it's a little one note. the kimchi fries had barely any kimchi at all, or anything else. once you eat the first layer, it's literally just a box of fries for $7. you could make it yourself cheaper at home with more toppings. the fried chicken was actually really good, but they left the fat and sinuous pieces on the meat so it wasn't the most pleasant texture. over all not living up to the hype. the staff were nice and friendly but the food is what matters. i'd skip it if i were you. read more

She definitely knew how to take an order but from the phone call to pick up, it was just off, a bit like she didn't want to be there mixed with the attitude of "ugh...people". I wish that places would really put people who are cordial and super inviting on the phone, pick up and hostessing. For a chain, Kimchi Box has some delicious offerings that are consistently prepared. I had no interest in going to Kimchi Box, but my kids dragged me there on Friday evening, and I ended up loving every single thing we ordered. We had the Popcorn Chicken, Bulgogi Box, Bulgogi Tacos, Sassy Fries, Kimchi Fries, Steamed Dumplings, and both variety of the Korean Corn Dogs. The Popcorn Chicken was the crunchiest, tastiest chicken of that style I have ever had. The crust on the chicken was super crunchy, and the chicken within was juicy. The sauces (Soy Garlic & Koreas Sassy) were both delicious. They scatter sliced scallion atop the chicken when they serve it which also provides great flavor. My Bulgogi Box was so good; all of the components... the bulgogi, kimchi, rice, noodles, salad; everything was fresh and delicious tasting. The Bulgogi Tacos were excellent; the shaved ribeye in them was tender and flavorful. The kimchi was crunchy and fresh, and the sauce was just spicy enough. The Sassy and Kimchi fries were both really good; all of the toppings were fresh and had great flavor, and the fries were hot and crunchy. The Steamed Dumplings were really tasty, they were large, and the dipping sauce was delicious. The Korean Corn Dogs were crunchy, hot, and the cheese within was perfectly melted and stretchy. The atmosphere is very clean and modern inside the Kimchi Box near Lakeside Circle on Hall Road. All of the booths and tables were clean and ready to be occupied. The self-service area was clean, and was well stocked with silverware--both metal and plastic for takeout, straws, chopsticks, plates, and napkins. The soda machine has a good variety of offerings so that anyone can find something they would like to drink, even if it's just water. The service is fast; the food is prepared quickly, and comes out hot and fresh. The servers are very friendly and accommodating, too. They bring your food to your table, and ask if there is anything else they can get you, which is really nice as it's not a sit-down-and-be-served restaurant. I always pay attention to how clean a restaurant is, and Kimchi Box is very clean inside. The bathrooms are also very clean and well kept. We have been to Kimchi Box many other times, and each time the food and service have been consistent. Hidden location and good service! Their Korean Fried Chicken is good; I wish they provided plastic knives to help cut it into pieces. As someone who works in the food industry, I can tell some things are pre-made and they fry/sell it. To be fair, the Kim Bim Bap is definitely made fresh/not pre-made AND presented in a huge bowl! I was so excited to try this place and they did not disappoint at all! I came here yesterday with a friend and tried the bulgogi tacos, korean corndogs, and kimchi fries. Absolutely nothing to complain about. Flavorful, delicious, and great quality food especially for the price. I have been looking for Korean corndogs in the area for the longest time because they are a trendy food on social media so I was so happy to see they served them! They were delicious! the dough was nice and crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside almost like a churro. And of course filled with cheese and hotdog which really satisfied my cravings. Already planning to come back here with my sister and definitely coming back for many more times. Love that they are located closer to me as well in the Macomb area instead of having to drive to Troy or further for some good Asian street food. read more

Kimchi Box was great at first. But it seems that the quality of both the beef and pork is falling. Both are fatty and full of gristle. The price isn't that low, either. They frequently forget to include the right sauces. It doesn't cost much more to order from a traditional Korean restaurant, which is what I will do in future. read more

craving Korean corndogs and when I got my carry out, it was all cheese. I had to look at the menu to make sure I wasn't mistaken and nope... it states hotdog and the Korean Potato corndog is half cheese, half hotdog. I called to let them know there was an error and the person who answered the phone tells me they changed their menu at that location to cheese. I let him know that his online menu still says hotdog and he said he doesn't even know who the manager is to even let them know. Totally incompetent and unhelpful in the worst way. I saw a video on my FYP via Tik Tok from an account called Chow Down Detroit and man... I am SOOOO thankful I found this place! First of all, the restaurant looks amazing, super clean, fantastic staff, and also I love how quickly they were able to get everything out to their customers even though they were pretty packed. Now onto the food! The Mozzarella Korean style corndogs were the highlight of my life!!!! I could order 100 of those things and eat them all in a single sitting! We ordered the wings, both chicken sandwiches, fries, and corn dogs. Honestly everything tasted phenomenal. Someone complained about portion sizes being bigger months ago, and I think they're nuts. I was blown away by how much food we got and by the quality. The wings and chicken sandwiches were cooked to crispy juicy perfection. What am I missing? I placed a to-go order for the Korean Corn Dogs (2). The menu clearly reads: "Korean style corn dogs stuffed with cheese and hotdogs". THERE ARE NO HOTDOGS in my corn dog batter - just cheese, with a glob of sugar and a side of ketchup?!?! Once home, I immediately called the restaurant and was told, "that's how they are made." You can't advertise an item containing a hotdog and then not include it! So in reality, I paid $6.50 for two sugar dusted cheese sticks?!? Something is really wrong here. read more
