Huge shout out and the strongest recommendation possible for Dr. Jonathan Sanburg at KIME Performance Physical Therapy inside Urijah Faber's Ultimate Fitness! I've been playing hockey for around 45 years, fortunate to avoid any serious knee injuries, until...a grade 3 MCL sprain in February. From the first appointment, Jonathan was focused on getting this 53 year-old beer league glory chaser back on the ice. He was the perfect combination of motivator and taskmaster, without any over the top, in-your-face, drill sergeant-esque "enthusiasm". He listened well to my concerns, adjusted the exercise regimen as needed based on my feedback, patiently answered all of my questions, and served as a psychiatrist when my impatience got the better of me. Bottom line: I'm stronger and (in my mind, at least) faster than I was before my injury and am back on the ice committing turnovers and taking penalties just like I did in my 20s. My experience at KIME was not great . The evaluation ($160) was not detailed. The manual therapy performed was not helpful. For the last two sessions ($80 each) the doctor spent only 1-2 minutes telling me which exercises to do and the rest of the time was on his phone or elsewhere with no feedback. The exercises he had me perform brought a lot of pain afterwards, which took several days to recover from. Another red flag was that the doctor was not able to give recommendations on how to modify the exercises to help reduce the pain -- I had to rely on past experiences with other trainers/PTs to modify them myself. I had high hopes since this place came highly recommended by colleagues. Compared to my last physical therapist, however, KIME just wasn't for me and I will not be returning nor can I recommend it. read more

My experience was great here. Suffering from knee pain, Desiree guided me through custom workouts and stretching plans each session to strengthen my legs. When my quads were especially tight, she started the session with a deep tissue massage to alleviate them. By the end, I not only recovered, but ran a marathon PR! I am extremely thankful for the successful recovery regimen and so glad I came to this location. Will definitely continue visiting to train for my next marathon. read more

The facilities are located within Urijah Faber's Ultimate Fitness, which means KIME has easy access to all manner of weights, bars, machines, and equipment to suit any recovery training needs. Jonathan and the team were awesome! This is my second ACL tear in the same leg. I went through my first rehab with Tony Mikla in highschool and it went great. 11 Years later I retore the same ACL and was back for my second run. This time Jonathan lead the charge and did a great job. At this point in life I have a pretty busy schedule with work and family (a lot busier than I did in high school) and Jonathan helped me create a recovery plan that was going to fit into that. He was more than willing to help put together workouts and exercises to challenge me and continuously be aggressive towards recovery, which is exactly what I asked for. This was our first time with Jonathan and let me tell you- he was nothing short of amazing. His demeanor, professionalism and the way that he interacted and spoke to my son on his level was so awesome to watch. He had him do stretches that actually really hurt (in a good way) and tested some strengths that he didn't know he had. He also played soccer in college and helps train a comp club out here, so his experience with children and their sports injury issues is in depth as well. I developed severe back pain after several mountain biking falls. Jonathan at KIME evaluated my condition and developed an exercise regimen for me to help remove tightness in my lower back and strengthen my back muscles. So far, my pain has lessened and my strength has increased. The physical therapists at this location are highly professional and take their work seriously. They tailor therapy to individual needs, monitor progress, and make adjustments as needed. The environment is great -- it's incorporated into a gym where people are learning martial arts and doing serious weight training (lots of high-quality equipment), so there's a positive get-healthy vibe. This is much more than I expected when I was referred to physical therapy. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for seriously good PT and to people looking for a great gym. read more

I have been seeing Katie and Jonathan at KIME for about 2 months now to rehab a lateral meniscus repair surgery I had back in February. I appreciate the one on one time and specialized plan we have set up to strengthen my muscles post surgery/muscle atrophy. I have noticed so much growth in this time and really feel like I am on track to get back to my sport safely. Jonathan is the best! I ruptured my Achilles playing rec league basketball, typically a career ender at my age/level (I'm 41). Not ready to quit I've been seeing Jonathan 2X/week since my I got out of my cast. I quickly got back to everyday life, walking and driving again, and now just 5 months after surgery I'm already ramping up my sport activities again thanks to Jonathan and KIME. The PT GOAT! I am very thankful as I realize without Jonathan and without KIME it would have been a challenge to walk normally again let alone get back to sports and basketball. This is my 2nd major surgery I have been lucky enough to have Russ Dunning at Kime help me through. What I love and is unique about him is when I'm there for my session it's not just about him "fixing me".
