New owners at this Little Toyko collector's paradise, and they know their stuff. There's so much here it's a bit overwhelming but they have all the high end merch from Japan, so just take your time. Pokemon galore, even first gen stuff for an old school guy like me. Misty and Brock, represent. I was in the market for a Totoro desk fan, and of course they had one at a lower price than I could find on line. Tons of plush so I had to pick up a Gudetama backpack hanger. So happy to learn that the Kimono Ya family owners also operate Burbank's go-to candy store, Sweety's. Cheers! read more

Been here once or twice and came back again yesterday to browse while waiting for our soufflé pancake from next door. They had one door open, other door was shut which had a sign that said "no food or drink" and didn't even notice it till we walked out. We had our open boba drink when we walked in but they didn't enforce it or anything. We browsed around a bit and ended up only getting a few blind boxes. They had a handful of really nice ones! Some Pokémon and SpyxFamily ones which we went for. Suuuuper cute and glad we got them since we didn't get any duplicates! The prices here are very good too. Not super expensive compared to Tokyo Japan Lifestyle at most malls. The people working there were very nice and the store was well spaced and organized. Easy to find what you're looking for. Kinda just a boring place, small place. The figure prices never change which is not good because the prices of the figures are higher than market value. Compared to other stores in Little Tokyo, this is just not worth a collector's time. The selection of figures is above average and the store is clean. I've never bought anything in the 5 times I've been here so I cannot speak on the service staff. Though I am usually in here for less than 3 minutes. read more

This store is located on the bottom floor of Weller Court next to the tunnel of lights. There was no store name on the exterior but the Japanese Chamber of Commerce confirmed to me that this is the name of the store; apparently it opened and closed at another spot in Weller Court in the past. The woman at the register greeted us and other customers as they came in. They sell a variety of plush anime characters, anime figurines, model kits, toys, novelties, clothing, etc. A fun place to browse or find a unique gift. I got a keychain with a plush character attached as a gift. Worth a visit whether you're a local or tourist. read more

I had no idea this place existed and was pleased with what they had. If you're into collecting figurines and plush, this place is for you! I especially liked the collection of BTS merch albeit older. I sent a pic to a friend of mine who is OBSESSED with BTS and they are more than enthusiastic to visit once the pandemic is over. As a Hello Kitty Junkie, they did have a small display which had some cute stuff. They are limiting capacity into the store and they do provide hand sanitizer. I didn't really pay attention to the prices as I was just browsing, but, if you want to avoid the Anime Jungle lines you may want to pop in here to see if they have what you need! read more

Horrible customer service. Grabbed a stuffed animal and gave to my son to hold onto until we got to the register. After bringing it to the counter to purchase found out that it was the wrong proce tag and wanted to charge me 2x the amount it was marked. I spoke to the cashier and she contacted the manager and there was no resolution. My son was crying in the store because we told him he couldn't get it after they wouldnt budge. Even during this exchange there was no empathy or even offering a discount. I even asked the cashier "do you understand my frustration??" And she just sat there and stared at me without the consideration of an answer. Turns out I found this same stuffy on amazon for $20 when i was being charged $70 for it. Total rip off store and horrible customer service. Will be reporting to weights and measures. Caution, you will be ripped off by purchasing from this store. read more

Literally walk in look around and walk out. Best part about this place is their small selection of yukata. Some of their Rilakkuma stuff wasn't legit but I haven't seen the knockoffs in a while. Hoping the quality will improve over time. read more

Jackie was awesome and helped me pick out a pen that my son wanted. Great customer service and cool store.

I bought a pen and washi tape to only realize two of the colors don't work and tape is not very sticky. You can't test the pens ,so that's a bit of a mistake on my part. The cashier was not at all personable and like a robot. A warning for figure collectors I'd go to Maneki Neko in Japanese Village Plaza as I suspect many of their figures are bootleg or from Alibaba . I am a huge collector so I am talking from an experienced eye. Luckily I wasn't out that much money. read more

I drove to Little Tokyo today to pick up some merchandise. I went to several locations, but I decided to spend my money in this store because the prices were pretty cheap or competitive compared to other stores. What really impressed me was that there has been new management since last week, and he was very helpful and friendly in suggesting items. He also showed me that most of the items that he buys for the store are directly from Japan, which means they are legit licensed merchandise. I say 'almost' because they also have some good office supplies from Korea. I got what I wanted and went upstairs to get some ramen. Across from the store is a grocery store, so you can do hobby shopping, grocery shopping, and have lunch all in one stop! Sunday well spent!. PS more bunny girls Inc to this store. read more

I always passed by this store whenever I go around the complex. They have a nice selection of Anime stuff there. It's a good souvenir stop shop to go to if you're going out around this area. Staff is pretty chill and outgoing. I definitely want to come back here when they update their inventory. They said they always get new stuff so I can't wait to see! read more

A cute store with many plushies, figurines, apparel, merch and even things like stationary! This is definitely on the smaller end of the Japanese Gift stores that are similar but it definitely does have a few gems in here so definitely give it a chance if you're in the area. read more

Employee's are rude. I went in to buy some figurines & asked the woman behind the counter if they accept Apple Pay. Then what I'm assuming that was another male employee that works there, jumped in the convo and said "you see this machine? It normally means that they'll accept Apple Pay." He sounded so sarcastic and as if I was incompetent. Either way I said "thank you." I proceeded to get ringed up & that's when the woman behind the register didn't even acknowledge me and continued to talk to her employee without even telling me that my purchase went through. That's when I just grabbed my stuff and walk out with a "thank you" and still did not get acknowledged by both employees that were at the register. Both had horrible customer service. Super cute spot with a lot of collectible items. Some people below said this place is expensive....but these items are all brought in from Japan and fully licensed. Some collectibles are worth 100-700 dollars! Staff is super informative and I love that it's in such a fun plaza. They can't validate parking because it's a separate business from the underground lots, but the market right by it gives validation if you spend 25 dollars or more. They have hello kitty, rilakuma, Gudatama, and all types of Pokémon characters! Slime, cute pencils, and not to mention BTS MERCH! So many cute pillows with al littlest of characters too. The anime items range from classic anime's to current day hits! They have figurines, pins, plushies, character accessories,body pillows, and more! And then the Gundams are awesome! They have really nice high grades for the pros and even assembly kits. The more traditional Japanese merchandise is nice too. Food training chopsticks for kids as well as traditional chopsticks with nice designs. I love the ramen bowl and saki sets. The samurai swords are awesome too! Love it here! I was tempted to buy some HK tank tops and shorts because they were so adorable. Domo, Mario and Rilakkuma hang out @ this place too. This is a cute store. A little on the pricey side but, it's a bunch of stuff you don't normally see everywhere else. After looking around for a bit, found some little trinkets for the house. Overpriced. Look elsewhere for similar items at better prices. Also, did not appreciate being the only one being kept an eye on by the old lady cashier. Out of everyone in the store, I was the only one she focused on. I get the whole idea of making sure no one steals anything, but seriously, I didn't like being singled out. Little Tokyo is littered with dozens of shops like these carrying trinkets and shirts imported from Japan. They are always fun to wonder around but by the third one you have probably seen everything these shops have to offer. However this little shop caught my eye because of the stunning kimonos they have for sale in a small back section. The kimonos were displayed around three walls of the room and my friends and I spent more time looking here than we did at the trinkets. Every hue of the rainbow was represented in these works of art. I have a feeling that this shop has a dual role as knickknack store for the tourists and a clothing store for those all important events for the local community. Now there is a huge sign that states "NO PICTURES" which we respected and I hope that others follow as well because it would be a shame to never see these beautiful items up close again. read more
