Beautiful hotel but I find it concerning that I had to ask for microwave that was broke down and refrigerator that got wheeled to room also didn't get cold; for a 4 star hotel that is not good. Deceiving not mentioning at check in about valet only parking $44 a day and if you have visitor drive to see you they pay $24 a day. Beautiful pools! Gorgeous views! Waiting on valet was annoying you wait at least 25 minutes even after you tell them you are on way down. Room was nice loved balcony view! Also don't like that incidentals also not mentioned at booking is $600!! That's crazy!! No vending machines in hotel either and u can get a can of soda at front desk for $8! And cookies for $10! Highway robbery at its best- I know it's Miami but cmon! I know next time I won't stay there downtown or rent a car! read more

I stayed at this hotel end of July for a business meeting. We held a conference. It was great except the fact they decided to charge me 90 days later for about 540$ after I already paid prior to my stay in addition to having my final bill at checkout on 7/31/19. Will be reviewing with everyone. Contacted several times no return call. According to the T's & C's to their checkout policy. No charges occur after 30 days from the stay. Kimpton never disappoints. I love Kimpton! This hotel is in prime location downtown Miami. Right on the water with beautiful views. Rooftop pool, great restaurants, spa, and more. Our room was a waterview premier King and it was lovely. Adore the huge bathroom and tub. It was super clean too. Balcony with chairs to enjoy the waterviews. We are celebrating my parents 50th wedding Anniversary so they had champagne on ice in our rooms to celebrate. Kimpton members get free wifi, pets stay free, and a $10 credit for your in room snacks/minibar. We are leaving on cruise today and the port is a little over a mile away. This hotel feels like a cheap hotel pretending to be a nice one. We stayed here for just two nights but in that short time we were bombarded by a slew of problems. From our fridge not working, to our toilet breaking, to the uncomfortable bedding, The reasons I would not return here are rising. At the beginning of our stay, we requested a rollaway bed to which the Kimpton agreed to. Upon our arrival they said the bed was a fire hazard and we couldn't have it. Well then why even have rollaway beds and offer them? The thin walls made it easy to hear our neighbors loudly playing music and talking. The TVs are not smart TVs so you can't connect your laptop or phone without bringing a physical cable. We went to order from their 24 hour room service to find that it had been halted for COVID. I don't understand how the two are connected, seems like a way to abuse the pandemic to cut corners. The valet service is useless, we contacted valet to bring our car, when we arrived our car wasn't there and we had to speak to valet again. The service took forever, and costs an absolute fortune. I stayed here for work and really enjoyed the hotel - nice rooms and bathrooms, good food, cool Miami vibe that made me feel like I wasn't really at work. Everything about the hotel and facilities is great. However ... the service was not as impressive. When I arrived at the hotel, at 11pm, the room I was assigned had a distinct smell of smoke. Upon calling the front desk, they said they would send someone to "spray and bring a fan" - when the person arrived (15 minutes later) I decided that sleeping with the fan going was not ideal. When I called the front desk again, they were not very accommodating with a new room or apologizing for the inconvenience. They put me in a new (and inferior room to the one booked, no apology) and said someone would be right up with a key. 20 minutes later some arrived, dropped off the key and did not offer to help with my luggage. I was also attending a conference in the hotel and the meeting rooms were kept at an absolutely frigid temperature (despite 80+ degrees outside). We contacted the hotel multiple times to address the issue to no avail. read more

I loved this hotel. By the 2nd day they valets not only knew my name but also my car and were very speedy about getting it. Concierge went above and beyond to help me find a restaurant for my specific tastes that day. I.e. I wanted a vegan restaurant the squeezed fresh juice. Had a really enjoyable stay here for July Fourth. Writing this on my last night here, and I can confidently recommend this hotel for its service and location. We got free drink vouchers when we checked in which was really nice. Free coffee and tea in the lobby during morning hours was a really nice touch too. This is our second stay within a month and the property offer GREAT value, super location to both the highway, Brickell, AA Arena and super restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. We also had beautiful views from our room and patio of the bay and river and enjoyed the sight of the cruise ships coming in and out on a regular basis. Rooms are clean and comfortable with a great bed and the bathroom amenities, while not over the top, are just fine. The key to this property getting high reviews are the staff........ Whomever you interact with, you will be impressed with the sincerity and desire to make your stay memorable. I especially want to point out the front desk greeter, Luca and his assistant manager, Roger Sawh. To me, the best judge of any type of establishment is not how close to perfect they come, it's what they do when a problem pops up. We had some extremely minor issues which were treated with such care, the issues evaporated. All my wife and I could think of was how much we wanted to come back again and again. Stayed here for business and pleasure many many times and I've never been disappointed. The Epic is just that - EPIC! Form the first time I stayed at the Epic pulling up to the front of this hotels makes you feel like you pulled up at a luxury car dealer, from bentleys to Maserati to other exotic cars and Yacht's. Immediately you are greeted by the staff who are all very friendly. The hotel is also residences so their valet gets a lot of volume therefore call your car in advance before leaving your room. The hotel has one of the most amazing Japanese restaurants Zuma please try it out you won't be disappointed( read my review on it). The bar by the pool is also very chic and has amazing views. The rooms are soo clean and the beds are very comfortable I've stayed in the standard rooms all the way up to their one bedroom suites and all of them have the same amenities and quality of luxury. So you're not missing out on anything but space. Wine happy hour is the best thing ever. I also love Kimpton's service of -if you forgot it we will get it- This is a genius perk that I have never seen at any other hotel, because you know when traveling something is bound to be forgotten and these people go above and beyond to get it for you. The location is also great! Very easy to walk over to the bayside area and enjoy the water as well as the American Airlines Arena to catch a game or a concert. Ahhh just writing this review is making me want to leave the cold and book a trip down to Miami and stay at the Epic. A must visit while in Miami. read more

First off, the property is absolutely beautiful. However, we didn't really enjoy our stay. My husband and I booked a 2-nigh stay here post-cruise. We booked a waterfront king room and walked into a beautiful and spacious suite located four floors above the pool. We enjoyed some time by the pool but at 6:30, were met with club music from the restaurant by the pool. We left the room and came back three hours later to it still happening. (Turns out this is a regular occurrence on Friday and Saturday nights. Both nights we were staying.) My husband called the front desk and they moved us to a room on a higher floor on the opposite side of the hotel, which is a room that sells for less than we paid. That room was still beautiful, but smaller and had a view of the hotel across the street. From this room, we could hear the traffic from the street echoing between the buildings. So basically don't book a waterfront room for Fridays and Saturdays unless you're okay with the noise. read more

What a beautiful beautiful hotel! I wish I was able to stay longer than one evening in this hotel. The moment you pull up to the hotel you know its going to be fabulous with huge yachts docked right outside. We had a super early morning flight and the hotel accommodated us to check in a bit earlier than scheduled 4pm check in. We hung out in the hotels spa area and pool. The pool was beautiful with gorgeous views in downtown Miami. Was fun overlooking where all the cruises are docked and as boats pass you under the bridge. They had little pods around the pool where we spent our first day. I loved the dj they had playing upbeat music and the live trumpet player was amazing! What a nice touch! We had a nice breakfast at the restaurant by the pool. The rooms were nice and I really enjoyed having a balcony attached. The only few downfalls of the hotel was although there were some extremely helpful and nice employees some were totally clueless and it was painful. Firstly, one of the reasons why we booked the hotel was that it offered late check out services. We were told when we checked in that would be fine just contact the front desk early morning. When we called they said there was nothing they could do and the hotel was totally booked. Our flight wasnt until 8pm so we were kind of stuck. We looked on other 3rd party sites for a hotel and saw that Epic was listed for MUCH cheaper on many other sites such as booking.com and hoteltonight. so we ended up booked a second night just so we can stay in the room a little bit longer. So clearly the hotel wasn't sold out. Seemed a little greedy. Hotel was in a great location. I am starting to love downtown Miami much more than south beach away from all the madness. After being left out to dry by Airbnb and the nearby W residences (host cancelled as I was checking in), Alejandro and the Kimpton were extremely helpful in booking a last second room at 3AM as well as accommodating late check out the next day so I could get some rest. 100/100, will definitely be returning every time I come back into town. read more

The worst hotel experience of my life. Full Stop. Room was a dump, service... what service? I booked a high floor room on the water. Got a room above the pool where the morning after my late night arrival was awaken by a pool party I wasn't informed of at check-in or I'd have asked for another room. This party lasted all day into the evening. Non-stop nightclub pounding from the DJ was so loud I couldn't hear the music in my own room! It shook the floors and my friends could hear it blocks away, even worse this party wasn't even for guests it was for profit. I needed rest before my evening plans but that was impossible in my room, and clearly relaxing at the pool wasn't an option. I had to leave and stay at a friends hotel which was a shame since I'd paid for 2 nights at the Kimpton EPIC. I regularly stay at 4 and 5-star hotels, I don't expect my experience to ever be perfect so never once have I complained... until this horrendous experience. read more

Horrible experience from check-in to check-out at this 3 star hotel at most. Day 1: We checked in at 2AM due to a delayed flight. Only to hear a loud buzzing sound going off and on through out the night. Day 2: We got locked out of our room because my bank declined the security deposit due to fraud protection alert. Which, I authorized by text at the front desk upon check-in. Only to wake up the next morning to go eat lunch and cake back to a locked room by security with our belongings inside. Mind you, the room was paid for in advance. Day 3: Security woke us up at 2AM with a loud knock and literally walked in after announcing himself. Asking if we were making noise or filed a noise complaint. We told him no only to find out it was the neighbor constantly arguing in the room and balcony. After 2 hours (4AM) of non stop bickering we called front desk to complain and informed them the room next to us is the guest they should of confronted at 2AM. I went to front desk after hearing security knock on their door repeatedly asking them to open to door. I told him why don't you just walk in like you did our room. With a dumbfounded look on his face and no apology. We finally checked out at 530AM to catch our 7 hour flight home. This is by far the worse hotel experience in my life. Not coming back or recommending this place ever! read more

Management need to work on a more effective valet parking process. The hotel is really nice and we enjoyed the jazz lounge. However, Area 31 was disappointing. Nice hotel... Incompetent management. I have stayed at this location over a dozen times and never had any issues until now. Ivanna, the manager, believes that if one of her staff tells me that I can stay in the room because there's a very important sporting event on, that I am responsible for a late checkout fee. This would make sense only that i offered to leave the room and was told it was "no issue". The worst part was the constant interruption I experienced in my discussion with Ivanna. She made claims that she didn't interrupt me, even though on numerous occasions, she did not let me finish my sentences. This was certainly not a luxury experience. And the service could be considered terrible. Although I stayed the first night after they opened, I expected basic services. Elevators did not work. No where to get a drink although I was told I should go to the pool area. Pool guy says are you kidding I don't even have ice. I called down to the front desk to get an ice bucket with ice; a coffee maker with coffee; and a bathrobe, all of which were advertised amenities, but not in the room. To obtain these 3 amenities, it took over 3 hours and at least 5 separate reminder calls. When I went to shower and wash my hair, I realized there was no blow dryer. Because I had no idea how long it would take to get a dryer, or how many times I would have to call to remind them, I just didn't wash my hair. Although there was no room service, that I expected. And of course at check out, the bill was wrong to their benefit. On top of all that, the construction site next-door was loud and dirty. It was really difficult to sit on the balcony because of all the dirt and noise... or keep the door open after 7 AM when the construction began. Now that there are many empty hotel rooms in the city I would certainly choose a different hotel. The cost of parking was also outrageous. read more

The Kimpton EPIC Hotel knows how to do customer service. My honeymooning husband and I stayed here on the last leg of our trip. After traveling for 10 days, we were kind of tired and ready to go home, but now EPIC has made us wish we could extend our honeymoon! They upgraded our room, provided complimentary champagne, gave great advice on where to eat in Miami. Overall I'm very impressed and their location is great as well- centrally located and within walking distance of everything in downtown Miami. read more

We chose this hotel because of the roof top pool which they closed last minute for a wedding. Hundreds of paying guests here and they close down the pool. After complaining they did offer us some free room service or movies but money isn't a factor for me personally so this isn't really helpful for me. Flew from Boston to enjoy a nice pool for the day and will be checking out tomorrow with tags still on my bathing suit. Let me be clear, it's Sunday, so this is a low budget wedding with rowdy people. One guest bumped into my so hard in the area near the elevator I spilled water all over myself. Also when we checked in there was very loud construction and a maid still in our room. The notepad had the last persons scribbling. Overall, we wish we stayed in any other hotel in Miami as any other hotel would have a pool. Update the help rings the bell once before barging into your room and the complimentary breakfast is non existent. read more

Stayed here for Rolling Loud. It's location is perfect, Downtown Miami right on the water. We originally booked the two double bed room with water view. It was busy, which is the norm for a Friday, especially when 40,000 people were booking hotels in Miami for the festival. We got there at 3:50 and checked in at 4:30. They didn't have our room available. We had the option to "upgrade" to a king bed room which would've been a little awkward to share amongst 4 people. I appreciate the front desk's effort though, they were very kind. They offered us a rollaway bed and luckily we brought a blow up mattress in case something like this happened so it ended up not being a problem. The stay was wonderful, I have no complaints. The room was beautiful and comfortable. The staff were extremely friendly and didn't frown upon us even though we were a younger crowd. I wish every hotel was as welcoming as Kimpton Epic. Unfortunately, I didn't have a chance to go to the pool but I had a lovely view of it. At the end of our stay, we had paid for our hotel room and it wasn't until later that I had noticed that we had been charged double for each night of parking. In all, we were charged an additional $160 on the invoice paper we received from the front desk and the statement on my card said even more. We called to dispute the extra charges and they refunded it after two weeks. Make sure you check the invoice before leaving! I will definitely stay again he next time I'm in Miami! read more

It pains me--it really does--to write a bad review of a Kimpton property. We used a Kimpton for our entire wedding party and family our wedding weekend and were very happy with it, I'm an In Touch member, we were "early adopters" of the Palomar in Chicago...but alas. We stayed here for one night on a layover coming back from the Caribbean (wanted a chance to see the city instead of just bumming around an airport hotel), and...ugh. I would have taken the airport hotel, in hindsight. All seemed good at first. The gentleman at check in was very friendly and, when we mentioned we were heading to a nearby restaurant for dinner, suggested we inform the concierge as they had a good relationship with them and could likely get us some food or drinks comped. Awesome! Once we settled into our room, I phoned the concierge as suggested and got a reaction as if I had three heads, but he said he would call the restaurant. Okay, fine. Except by "call the restaurant" he apparently meant "get our reservation cancelled and cause us a significant amount of confusion"--and he apparently didn't even mention where he was calling from, as no one from the restaurant acknowledged their call. The room was...okay. Beds were surprisingly uncomfortable for a Kimpton, and bathroom setup was strange (there is basically a "pass through" window between the bathroom and bedroom, so if you forget to put the blinds down, your roommate gets a lovely view of..well....). The last straw was on checkout--we had prepaid for our room, but this was somehow missed at checkin and they had to temporarily double charge us. However, the woman at the desk promised she would take care of it within hours and took our information, but we never heard back--we had to eventually call back and get transferred from department to department about 5 times before getting the charge removed. Frustrating, and not the level of service I expect from a Kimpton. read more

I didn't stay at the hotel, but I sure wish I did, I stayed for the night life, and sure wish I hadn't. Not that it was bad, it was great. I was bad, very bad, it usually starts that way when I order champagne. Then the place started rocken, and my credit card went hopp'en that rap star quality came out in me, but I didn't shoot anyone "darn it". The Epic is epic when it comes to night life, no recession here.
