Eliminated all the details, I NEVER going to go that place again. And seriously thinking of reporting that place to the consumer bureau. They forgot to closed the cap after putting the engine oil, putting my life in danger. I drove off and right away smelled oil and noticed weird sound. I opened the hood, OMG, everything was soak in the oil. I went to a different mechanic and be told that if I drove little bit longer with open oil tank, my car would been burned. They accurately diagnosed the problem, my transmission was leaking oil In a couple places and identified a major bolt had not been screwed in place by previous mechanics. Because this was the result of Burien Nissan's poor workmanship who had replaced the transmission a few months ago, they recommended I return to the dealership to correct problem while under warranty. In addition, they gave me key information about Washington state's law regarding transmission repair to empower me to know my rights as a consumer. They did not charge me for the visual inspection but I wanted to give them more business so I replaced my windshield wipers which are operating at peak performance. Brought my car in on Monday 10/5 My check engine light was on and I needed a tune up and oil change. After scanning my vehicle they called and said it would be $761.00 to fix my gauge sensor. After much research I realize I just needed a fuse. I told them just to do the tune up and oil change and I will worry about the rest later. They also changed my air filter. They said when I picked up the car it will be $441.00 They must have lost their mind. They said the sensor alone would be over $500.00 with parts and labor. So the difference is only $261.00 I asked how they came up with that number $441.00 they said that was the charge for the work they did. I looked up everything individually online for my make and model and it was way overpriced so after much debating over price they drop it to the $261.00. Great Right???? NO!!! They were still working on my vehicle and were upset about having to drop the price. I left there with my vehicle running 10 times worse than when I brought it in. I turned around and came back I asked them to test drive it and they said it was fine and would do nothing more for me. I am very upset with them. Super nice people here...just went in for a wheel alignment after purchasing tires elsewhere. Sad to say my steering wheel tracks way to the right now. Aligned? Not really. Also, they provided no paperwork showing the numbers for wheel alignment. I can't speak for the other services they offer, but for wheel alignments, please look elsewhere. read more

My car was running kinda sluggish and this is my first manual transmission car so first thing that came to mind was the clutch going out. I called Kim's and the guy gave me a quote over the phone. I get to the shop and explain more about the what had happened. I give him my keys and he gets in the car to check it out. After pumping the clutch, changing gears, and starting up the car he says my clutch is still good. I was probably shifting wrong.. Like I said I'm new to driving stick. I feel if I had gone to any other shop they would have swindled me into buying an entire new clutch kit. I was so please with their service I created a yelp account to leave a review. One day my car had an issue on the freeway and pulled over to check to find the engine light came on with the temperature gauge rising. After reaching out to a friend, he recommended me to Kim's Auto as I was heading that direction where the auto shop was. Mr Kim (owner) sent a towing guy who was one of the best towing I could ask for as we had a great time talking until he dropped my car off at the auto shop. Mr Kim said he would call me tomorrow as I arrived there right when it was closing. Next day, I got a call in the morning saying my car was fixed and that my coolant pipe broke. The price was very cheap as I was thinking that it might need a major work, but the car is working again in normal condition. =) Mr Kim was fast, courteous, price was awesome and I would recommend going here again if my car ever has a problem. The charged me for new parts and the guy in the front desk told be they used the same parts the day I went to pick up my truck, I also paid for a diagnostic and every 2 days they would call saying that there was something else. I paid $4,000 dollars for everything and they didn't even take care of the problem, the same day that I picked up my truck the check engine light came on 20 minutes later and i honestly didn't want to deal with them anymore so I didn't even bother. Had two 4-wheel alignments done here, one on a Saturn and one Nissan Quest minivan. Both cars drive straight and steer great but the steering wheel was off center to the left both times, more on the minivan than on Saturn. To have Kim's redo it you have to arrive in the morning and wait in line because alignments are on a first-come-first-serve basis, no appointments. They don't give the before-and-after printouts either. The price was right: 86 bux including tax, so I would recommend Kim's Auto if u are in the area and can drop off your car in the morning. Avoid afternoons because they are packed. Like all competent mechanics they are busy with projects, so it's best to call ahead to find out a less-busy day. Getting there is tricky since u can only access the shop from northbound hwy 99. Look it up on the map - there's an apartment complex and immediately after the last apartment driveway is entrance to Kim's. It's the ony way in & out, so when u are close to the apt. complex change to the commuter lane, slow way down as u are nearing the right curve, and u won't miss it. read more

When they found that the issue wasn't resolved, they continued to troubleshoot until they found the problem. They took the parts off and didn't charge me for the labor. My car 2012 z4 had a problem(engine hesitate/shakes when accelerate), so I went to BMW northwest in Fife, Wa. It took about 2 days for a diagnose and I was told that my car needs 'Engine decarbing' due to well, the tech said it is common problem for turbo charged BMW. He gave a quote of whopping 1800$.(8 hour job, so told). It was strange because it only has 50000miles on it. They also charged for diagnostic fee of about 160$. So, I decided to get a second opinion and went to this Kimsauto. The owner, Mr. Kim said, "90% of time it's ignition coil" then he changed it for 157$. The engine light turned off, and my car turned back to normal. This shop is very honest, conscientious, and knowledgeable. I would recommend this shop to anybody who want to seek second opinion. read more

when you do business with Kim's auto repair please be cautious because I took my vehicle there for repairs and they gave me one price but when I went to pick up the car they charged me over 3 times the amount which I had to pay or they said they will not release it to me plus they never called me to discuss the price or the repairs of the vehicle. please look else were repairs as they will most likely cheat you on the price and repairs. read more

They had my car for 3 months !!! I had them replace a head gasket , they told me all was good and my car stalled in the middle of HWY 167 and I had to have help getting to the shoulder , I have the car towed back only to be told that it needs an engine , the engine is installed and I still have a check engine light on , this is after spending $3000 with them and after asking to have a diagnostic test ran and it never got ran , after telling them any additional parts I need I will pay for because they have taken my engine apart twice and it would only make sense to fix it all at this point. I go back and no one has an answer as to what is wrong with my car $3000+ later . I'm 22 , my car is a 2014 with maybe 80000 miles on it , they replaced a head gasket , an engine, the turbo, a catalytic converter , and a water pump . They put my shitty old tensioner back on for now the second time and put the old ass O2 sensor on , 2 easy fixes that I requested to have fixed and no one fixed it . Also $3000+ later my car still has a check engine light on . I'm so livid because I busted my ass to come up with that money and my car still isn't running properly ! Do not come here at all , go ahead and spend the extra to get it done , none of this work came with estimates , I had to ask for receipts , he collects your money and quits giving a fuck about you, FUCK KIM , HIS WORKERS , AND THIS STUPID ASS AUTO SHOP!!! read more
