I went to Kim's Deli to grab lunch and was pleasantly surprised and impressed! The place is tucked inside a small shopping center behind La China Poblana. The space is really small, mostly for takeout, with Mrs. Kim running the counter. I ordered a sandwich and a daily special (it was a Tuesday so I got bulgogi) and both were delicious! I went again to order some sandwiches and was still impressed. The prices were reasonable and Mrs. Kim takes great care in making sure you have everything you need (extra pickles, utensils, etc) before you leave. Highly recommended! read more

Another mom and pop shop. Mostly mom. The owner is always working. They seem like a very close team. Everyone's very sweet. My boyfriend discovered this place many years ago and is loyal, that's what consistently does. It's about 50 min drive, he will make the drive if he's really craving something homey. I'll tell you everything we had and everything was worth it. Biscuits and gravy, chicken salad, steak and cheese, chilli, breakfast bagel, breakfast platter with ham, and their homemade brownies. I find everything price worthy. It's a to-go spot, no tables in there. It's very small. For those who know, that is fine with me. I prefer to-go anywhere. So just a heads up. This is the best sandwich I've ever had. Period. PERIOD!!!! The pictures don't do it justice. It was so flavorful, juicy, fresh, crispy, all the good adjectives. It's a great price, quick service, and kind ladies. It's a tiny little shop and you could miss it if you blink so keep your eyes open for it. Can't recommend this place enough. Love this spot, it's become a regular lunch/breakfast spot for when our business has morning or lunch time meetings. Super friendly and fast service, we usually call ahead and have never had to wait for the food to be prepared. Ready to go and kept warm. Sometimes the sun roll is lightly toasted & sometimes it's not. Very inconsistent cooking. When ordering French fries if it's past 1:00 the owner likes to turn off the deep fryer (to save money). So you have to wait 15 minutes for fries but your sandwich is cold by then. There are many places to get a good steak 'n cheese but this is NOT one of them read more

Stopped here for lunch today. Your run-of-the-mill Deli from a sandwich and sub offerings standpoint. Ordered a 12" Italian Hoagie with everything and a bottle of water. I had planned to eat there - BUT - there is no "there." There is no seating in this place for customers. And thank god - it was so bleeping hot in there - it was not even funny. I couldn't wait for them to finish making my sub so I could pay for it and flee to someplace cooler to eat. They have an AC window unit mounted in the wall above the front door - but I don't think that poor little window unit is rated for a room that has a bunch of kitchen equipment running. I mentioned that it was really hot in there to the guy running the register - he waved at the kitchen equipment and muttered something about the heat from the kitchen equipment. Sub itself was very tasty - more like a 3.5 stars, bordering on 4 - BUT I am deducting stars for how damn hot the place was, no inside seating, and the place is cash only - no credit cards accepted. This is not a Pho joint guys - you are the only Deli in Manassas that does not accept credit cards! Worth checking out for to go subs! read more

I've only gotten delivery/take out from this place because my company loves it. I'm not sure what's so amazing about it but it's not bad for a quick cheap lunch! I've never actually been here or interacted with any of the employees. I've gotten a meatball sub, fries, and the GENERAL TSO'S LOL. The sub was huge and very flavorful. I had to make it two meals. Their fries are pretty good. They're crispy and crunchy on the outside and very soft and warm in the inside. The general tso's is actually really good??? It's an off-menu item. You can get it with white rice and lo mein. I got it with rice and the rice was actually perfectly cooked. I like my rice more wet, and it was almost like Korean rice. I wanted a quick bite of breakfast so I stopped in here for a biscuit. They don't have biscuits but rather breakfast sandwiches. They also have burritos and will serve up eggs to order as well as omelets. I decided on an egg and cheese sandwich on whole wheat toast with light mayo. There were three other people waiting so it took a while. As I read some of the earlier reviews mentioning no tables well, you now have one table with four chairs and a small stool where you can sit at a small bar and eat. While I was waiting, I struck up a conversation with a fellow who told me the food there is good, he and his mates who work at the Micron factory nearby come there almost daily for the steak and cheese sub. When I 1st saw this place, I'm thinking Kim must be a local from Manassas who has started her own deli and maybe does caterting on the side. It turns out that Kim must be the last name of the couple who own and run this place. English isn't their first language. She takes the orders and he cooks. When i got my sandwich which was wrapped in foil, I opended it to check it out. There was no cheese, I got white bread instead of wheat and there was no mayo. Mr Kim offered a 'do over', I said thanks but I'll just go with this. I really didn't want to wait another 10 minutes. He still charged me the full price at $1.86...I wonder what a slice of cheese goes for these days? If I go back, I'll probably try the steak & cheese sub and hope they don't forget the cheese. read more

I really like this deli. I eat here a lot and so do my coworkers. We all say that we have never gotten a bad meal here. Service is quick and average priced. Kim's has a daily lunch special of a different sub each day of the week which saves you some money. The only drawback is that you cannot eat inside because it is takeout only. read more

The owner/chefs/register workers are polite and clearly take customer service seriously. The next time you're about to go to McDonalds for breakfast, go to Kim's instead. Stopped here for the first time today. I ordered the 8 inch grilled chicken. The sub was very good and ready fast. The chicken, onions, and peppers were well grilled Sub roll wasn't fresh baked but the standard roll you get from the grocery store Language with the employees can be a barrier because the husband and wife running the deli don't speak/understand English that well. Also they don't accept credit cards for purchases under $10. Prices seemed reasonable. I'd go back but it won't be a regular stopping spot. Fitst let me say that I have been a regular customer for over a year. The service was never stellar but not horrible either. This morning was different. I ordered a scrapple and egg on white toast. When I got to work I opened up the bag and it had the wrong sandwich. I went back and she starts to make me a new sandwich I thought except she took an already made sandwich (not mine), took the egg an scrapple off the wheat bread put that on the grill and then put it on white toast. When I said I didn't want an old egg she started yelling at me that it wasn't old. I kept saying I just wanted a fresh sandwich but no dice. They gave me my money back but now I've wasted a half hour and I'm still hungry.. Make that hangry! read more

as often as I eat here, I should probably give it a better rating. A couple of years ago, I would have. I think they started going to a cheaper variety of ingredients. I just started getting the gristle in the steak and the lettuce tastes bad. Having said all that, I still keep coming back. The New York Avenue still tastes as good as it ever did and it was always my favorite. I pretty cool selection of chips and drinks, which is a staple for a good deli. Prices are very reasonable. If you get the daily special, it's probably cheaper than packing a lunch. I just can't give it that high of a rating if I've had to learn to not eat certain things.
