Inflation has to be hurting them. Was rather surprised by, how expensive breakfast was this morning. Will leave it at that, as this used to be a favorite spot. It still is. A lot of it's due to its old fashioned no frills charm. It is a true diner. It's genuine and comfortable. Service was exceptional. Food was decent enough. The bacon deserves a well done. Having seen this spot many times over the years, but never stopping in, I decided to go for breakfast one weekday, while I was in the area. There only seemed to be two employees working; the cook and the server, but service was still quite prompt. When I got there, there was only one other person dining in there, but by the time I left, there were many others and several more tables sat. They also seemed to have a few take-out orders pop in while there, so they clearly do a decent business. The menu is typical, basic diner fare, nothing creative nor unique. I opted for a bacon, egg, & cheese sandwich on English muffin and it was pretty good. We just had a company Christmas Breakfast catered by Tom's Diner. The food was great, home cooked style and very tasty! Although it's not open 24/7 like the diners I grew up with, you definitely feel the small town diner vibe when you walk in. Yes there is a trailer park behind this place. If that in any way influences your opinion of the food, I don't really know what to say about except to check your privilege. Food didn't take too long to come out after we ordered. It was mostly younger families at the tables and some old timers sitting at the counter. Really liked the atmosphere of this place during the brunch hours. Oh man. I don't know where to start. Maybe it was the trailer park behind it, or maybe the tape holding the bar together. I will say that the hash browns were HANDS DOWN one of the top 5 worst things I have ever eaten. Imagine that kinda ratty couch that's in someone's house who smokes inside. Now imagine eating that couch. That's what they tasted like. We ate and got the hell out. Oh and one of my creamers was solid! Yes! Another authentic diner close by! There is one other on same road but really packed on Sunday so tried out Toms. The coffee excellent and mug never empty. My food was served quickly and was excellent. Nestled in front of a trailer park which I never knew existed, the parking was limited but doable. I liked the patrons! A biker dude was seated in booth next to me and when he saw an elderly couple enter, he jumped to his feet and gently guided the man to his seat. We will become regulars! read more

Tom's Diner is a classic greasy spoon kind of place. I've only come here for breakfast and got the same thing both times: buttermilk pancakes with the country omelette. The country omelette is carb heaven. It has potatoes inside of it (along with bacon and onions and some other things), with your choice of home fries or hashbrowns, and some sort of toast on the side. It's delicious, always really fresh, and they're not shy about stuffing the omelette. You won't leave the diner with an empty stomach. Everything's reasonably priced, staff are really friendly, and the diner attracts a variety of people... One of our favorite breakfast stops. A simple but tasty menu from a very local diner. It always seems that everyone knows each other when you are there for breakfast. And it's casual enough that when the guy comes in open carrying, no one really bats an eye. All the breakfast items are great. Absolutely amazing. The food is phenomenal. Got the steak and cheese sub. And my friend got a breakfast sandwich. Both were amazing. The staff is very lovely. My server was samantha. Highly recommend asking for her she is quiet and reserved, but her service is very amazing. And honestly I thought she was a young teen. About 15 or so. But she's in her early to mid 20s!!!?? Or even ask for her mother Wendy who just seemed to be in an incredible mood with a warm smile and always giggling . She helped with our table alongside Samantha. We went in on a Sunday. It wasn't too busy. Though our server mentioned that it was oddly slow for a Sunday. I'll give a shout-out to both the cooks in the kitchen, as I'm not exactly sure which one made our food. Perhaps both did. The vibe of the diner is what you're looking for in a diner. Though it could use some touch ups.. in regards to the physical looks. It doesn't look like much. But the service just gives that feeling that they welcomed us as family. It was just a warning thought to know that mother and daughter work there. One of the cooks was the son of the owner. Two of the other waitresses were sisters. But all together three completely different families. It just felt that they really appreciated the work they do .which is a lot to say about serving tables. But they seem to love it. The regulars that came in, were treated like family. (The only reason I'm assuming they were regulars bc the staff, even the cooks, welcomed them by name). Seab and I pretty much ordered the same thing - Biscuits and Sausage Gravy, with two eggs medium, and hash browns, plus coffee and water. This time around, for me, it was just okay. The Sausage Gravy was not as "sausagey" as I think it should have been. More sausage flavor! The hash browns were also a tad undercooked for my taste - I like 'em crisp! My first time to Tom's Went for breakfast early on a Sunday morning...sat at the bar. My first impressions were not good. The lady who took my order was timely and nice. She immediately offered coffee which was good. I had two eggs over easy, grits, hashbrowns and toast. Everything was good except for the grits...they were like soup. I had to ask for coffee even though there was a regular group of girls hanging out behind the counter. It was really annoying that they were all eating their breakfast...right in front of me....three of them. I complained to the waitress about the grits...she told the cook as I was leaving...he apologized.
