Kim's Home Center is the OG Home Goods shop in Koreatown and I love it. They have a small parking lot which can fill up quickly but it's nice that they have one in KTown! Staff has always been friendly and kind, keeping in mind speaking Korean is helpful if you are looking for something specific. It's NOT necessary, just helpful. They have so many Korean focused products mostly in home goods like kitchen items, tons of bedding, rice cookers and kimchi fridges, but also things like makeup, skincare and clothes. Well priced house slippers with a lot of options! The entire second floor is electronics and more expensive goods, which I hear are not the best to buy here. I usually stick to cheaper items, more kitchen and cooking related needs at Kim's. They have a pretty strict return policy which I hear is a bit risky for more pricey items. I went in specifically for Makgeolli supplies and was so happy to find the pot & cups I needed, at nearly half the price of amazon! Support local stores instead of shopping online! I was impressed with the variety of products they carry - cosmetics, bedding, kitchen goods, small appliances, clothing, daily life goods, and so much more! Kim's Home is totally comp. to a Korean Target or Ikea Marketplace. They sell almost anything you could think of plus more. From reading the low star reviews, I think you need to only purchase items that you don't care about returning. Buying more expensive electronic items may be too risky for their strict, inflexible 14 day return policy. Come here to buy various 'cheaper' and fun items like inside House slippers, kitchen and home goods (especially plastic items). There are many more upscale kitchen cookware, knives that are European brands. the 2nd floor has larger $$$ electronic items, where it may riskier shopping. I feel like for expensive items, you'd be better off shopping at typical store where there is generous return policy, a la Target, Kohls. I've never seriously checked out their blanket and bedding section, but Korean blankets are supposed to be the bomb- mattress bedding that is super cooling and lightweight. I can only shop here on rare occasions that I make the long drive to K-town, so for me it's fun treasure hunt shopping, and I know I won't be able to return anything easily. This is also a great store to shop for cute gifts. The workers prob. can understand English, but don't expect American style customer service, that's not what you're coming for in older classic K-town businesses. read more

Nothing beats a store that sells everything! I went to get some Korean blankets, and I was blown away by the prices and by the variety! I went to one store back at home that was similar quality but double the price of Kim's. Kim's Home Center is two stories tall filled with anything you can imagine. Korean PJs, kitchenware, pillows... and they have workers to answer questions and help you out! Spent about 3 hours here, bought lots of amazing, quality presents for friends and family, and left happy. To think a store has great service is kind of odd, but they really do have great service! They have someone to help you park, carry your things, wait as you bring the car, and load the car. This place has been around 40+ years. The original location was on 8th & Irolo, tucked away on the bottom corner of a grocery store. We like going to this store as they have anything and everything you can imagine. Kitchenware, bedding, electronics, make up, kimchi refrigerators, etc. It's a cultural experience! There were many non-Korean customers shopping & browsing there. Somebody asked me questions about various soaps they had there. I didn't know anything about them so just translated what it said on the packaging & they selected one soap. As we were walking away, the sales associate (older man with black rimmed glasses upstairs) began talking trash about us--loud enough to hear. That kind of behavior is wildly unprofessional and completely unacceptable. Customers are allowed to browse, ask questions, and decide not to purchase without being mocked or insulted. If someone can't handle that basic part of retail, they shouldn't be working with the public. I've never heard of Kim's Home Center, but my husband has been coming here since he was a little kid with his family. They have everything! All sorts of nick knacks. I entered, with the plan to buy some high quality Korean visors and chopsticks. But we ended up walking out with multiple visors, chopsticks, as well as kitchen cooking ware, slippers, and more. We even looked online and compared prices of the cooking pan we got, and it was cheaper here than the manufacturer's website. My husband's family has also given us many amazing high quality Korean blankets from here. They also sell hanboks for decent prices. This is a great place. read more

If you're Korean living in LA, you know Kim's. It has been around for DECADES, and before there was Daiso, before there was Amazon, before there was such a thing called the internet, there was Kim's. You can find everything from facial products, to crazy kitchen gadgets, to Korean underwear, to fancy kitchen appliances, and even Korean blankets. BTW, Korean blankets are way different and use different material. They have summer blankets and winter blankets. My Mom always lectures me on how important it is to use Korean blankets, but I digress. You would think that since we now have Amazon and international products are easier to find on the internet, Kim's would have slowed down... but nope. It is still very crowded on weekends, and sometimes even hard to find parking. My Mom has bought many, many items at Kim's over the years, as have so many other Ktown ladies... it's practically a Ktown institution. Their blanket collection is second to none. And so are their hot water thermos section. Think of this place as where you can get Asian goods that you can't easily get on Amazon. Good parking on site. One and only original LA's last remaining The Korean BakHwaJum ( Department Store). They have the best stuffs from Korea hands down. We mainly went there for the advanced steam rice cooker. Now there are only two different companies competing for the Koreans who still loves high quality steamed rice. This store carries all available models and the sales ladies who are so well informed and friendly! You won't find any stores with major league helpful saleswomen like they have at Kim's. We got the one with so many welcoming features with Porridge, White, Mixed, Hyunmi Bop, Bean Sprouts Rice, High pressure cooker called Cuckoo with the forty years of making one thing, The Rice Cooker. The more expensive competitor is Cuchen. It's about $50 more from the base price of $550. We had to buy some warm cotton pants, nail trimmers and several other items. It would take us one whole day to see everything, but we had little time today. Next time I want to see the Hepa Air Cleaner and steamer. read more

I've been aware of Kim's for the longest time since I often drive by on my way to work. I started following them during the lockdown and see on their Instagram of all the cute and useful home items they carry -- with a Korean twist! All the while, they've made safety a huge priority on their social media, which reassures me it's safe to shop there. So I finally had a moment where I really needed some house supplies this week. Kim's is comparable to the merchandise sold at Bed Bath & IKEA, but I want to support not only a small business, but an API business. So i went over around midday and it was already hopping! They have two parking lots that a very proactive guard oversees! He helps customers since these lots are small and narrow, so it's easy to get in a jam. He's great about that. Did I mention parking is FREE? Bonus points! Kim's is full of Korean families which I just love to see. I love how daughters are helping their grannies pick out items; mamas holding their babies this is truly a community affair! For full disclosure, I only shopped on the ground floor but will say there are lots of home items: for the bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, some pet supplies plus ladies' gear such as lingerie and clothes. Even some traditional Korean souvenirs like pouches and purses great for gifts! I found what I needed: a little trash can, some mats for cat bowls, fruit fly deterrents, a spray bottle to water my houseplants and some coin pouches. I know now that when I'm in a pinch, I'll come to Kim's from now on and get my home goods! read more

There are several parking lots but they fill up quick! This was my first time here and there are security guards watching the parking lot and also helping with directing traffic which is super helpful. This is the place if you, your mom, grandma, etc want to stock up on Korean home goods. They have a bunch of stuff that you can't really find on Amazon (or the price would be much higher) and would have to go to Korea for. From cookware to clothes to toiletries, you may end up spending more time here than intended just looking through all the things. Found this place from TikTok. I decided to make a quick stop before we head back to SF. The store is much bigger than I though. It has EVERYTHING! Bedding, kitchen gadgets, home goods, clothing, cosmetics, and appliances!! I bought two buckwheat neck pillows. One for me and one for hubby. They are exact the same as the one I see at Korean market in San Jose. But, they are at least $10 cheaper per pillow. Score!! I also bought a paella pan for $11. I know it's a bit odd that I buy a paella pan in a Korean store. But, it's so cheap and it looks like the one I see in other stores that sell for $80. Why not! This place has been around since I was a little girl - so many home goods! The stuff is good quality and priced well. The kids goods are great - although they didn't have much selection on toddler pajamas (the soft cotton relaxed fit), the blankets were warm with cute designs. I want to get rid of my whole kitchen and start over with a shopping spree from here! So many things you can see in person - similarly priced to Amazon. They have many sales people on the floor to help you. They knew so much about the rice cookers and the different models so it made it way easier for me to decide. They have a busy parking lot with two attendants. Considering that they sell no food and only housewares, this place was busy. You can find virtually everything you need to outfit your kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom here. They have everyday use items and specialty items at reasonable prices. I found wooden spoons for under $2 and kitchen shears for under $4. Metal utensils are also available. Blankets, comforters, and other bedding are available in a wide selection. read more

The best place for Korean cookware and home goods. Kim's is a staple of koreatown and has been around for so long. I recently came by to check out their rice cookers. There are lots of employees here so it's very easy to find someone to help you. I was recommended a Cuchen rice and pressure cooker and it was on sale. The prices here are very competitive.
