They do arts and crafts, have out door play in a super duper play area outside, have story time, nap time and everything else a pre school/daycare should have.. The calm, prepared environment immediately put him at ease, and we've watched his confidence, focus, and independence grow every day. We especially appreciate Miss Leslie's leadership. As the director, she's created such an amazing program--her experience and passion shine through in how she trains the teachers and connects with every child. It will always remain one of the best things we did for our son (who's now 8 yo and in grade 2), we see the difference in him in so many tremendous ways and it started with this school. Our 2 year old daughter now goes there, there is no better school for them. Leslie who runs the school has been doing this for 40 years, the team of teachers are all so special and have been with her for such a long time. The energy of the school is priceless, it's calm, structured, dynamic and respectful, and I love that it lays this foundation for the kiddos. The way they teach and learn there really fostered incredible independence in both my kids, and invaluable confidence and a real true love for learning. I couldn't possibly have found a better foundation for my children, and I owe it to Leslie and her crew. I remember the first day I went and "observed" my son at school I was in tears, blown away at what he was able to do at such a young age, and so happy to see him in an environment that allows him to thrive in his unique individualized way, I love that it builds this competence in them while at the same time maintaining a structured respectful environment to also ensure kids learn respect and appropriate behaviors. My children developed their social skills, acclimated to structure and were academically prepared for kindergarten. I volunteered extensively in both of my children's kindergarten classrooms and was pleased to see that El Dorado Hills Preschool had them at an academic level (knowing letters, numbers and some basic sight words) that put them at the top of their classes. While this is wonderful, what makes the program exceptional, is that they were always having fun and it never felt like work. Their imaginations and creativity were encouraged! EDH Preschool made learning fun so they loved to learn, which continues to serve them well in elementary school. Miss Kim and Miss Stephanie are nurturing and gifted teachers. They have endless energy and their passion for children and teaching is evident. There is no one I would recommend more than these two to help mold my children and prepare them for elementary school.

When I asked what happened to my daughter to the main teacher, the teacher had no idea and the teacher said to follow up but never got a response back. COVID-19 response The staff never wore masks and never required kids to wear masks but one Monday all staff were masked up, it was eerie. Later that day, the school notified me that my kids were exposed to COVID-19 with no details of exposure, and the school was closed for a week. The tuition was reimbursed. Discipline Policy There was a child who is disruptive and harmful to other students, the school had no procedure to correct the kid's behavior. The kid was aware of no consequences for his behavior and bullied kids who were playing alone or kids who doesn't retaliate. Teachers appeared not responsive until kids scream, cry, or tell teachers for help. Basic manners such as taking turns, sharing with others, and being kind to others were not important to teachers and were not disciplined. If these are not taught in a school, why should I even bother sending my kid here? My kid got chased, sand over her hair, and her sand castle was destroyed by one kid. The staff never tried to stop the bullying behavior, they didn't even know it was happening. Teacher-to-Student ratio The school advertises a 1:6 ratio. One teacher and two assistant teachers for 18 kids. However, that's only in the classroom. When kids are outside at the playground, the teacher stays inside the classroom and only assistant teachers are monitoring the kids.
