Wow!!! Service was incredible and the quality for the price is 10/10. Highly recommend making this your new spot for plants. We got a beautiful rosemary bush and plant. Skip the TikTok recs and head to this business that's been around 43 years and gives you your moneys worth vs over the top prices for the same exact thing.

Such an underrated amazing gem with great plants, esp olive trees. Super kind helpful owner!

Kim's Plants should have a motto: "Good plants. Cash only." Mr. Kim isn't one for extra customer service, but has some nice plants at competitive prices. For cash, obviously, which I didn't realize before I came in. That being said, it was easy in and out, and im very happy with my plants!

A very pleasant place with a beautiful selection! There was a large collection of big and healthy plants to walk around in. Customer service was friendly and helpful. Overall a very cute place and I will be back.

"Oh, Mickey…read more.. You're so fine! You're so fine, you blow my mind! Hey Mickey! Hey Mickey!" Mickey Hargitay Plants is the coolest little big plant store, plant nursery, garden center and serene landscaping places I've ever seen. From the pure vibrant vibes to the incredible staff that make this gem thrive. Tucked away in Hollywood on the cusp of West Hollywood off of Sycamore Ave and Fountain Avenue, just a small skip east from La Brea Avenue. They're open from 9 AM until 5:30 PM all 7 days of the week. And carry plants, planters, gardening essentials and wonderoud things of all shapes and sizes. I've been passing by frequently for nearly two months on my way to work usually before they're open or after they're closed on as I make my way home and finally got to stop in and explore. That wave of calm, relaxation and vibrance that being around nature and all it's planty goodness lives here in abundance. Explore in person, place orders for pick up or even delivery. Mickey Hargitay has a rich history to match it's ambiance since it's birth in 1980, starting off with succulents, cacti and their own macrame designs Voted one of the best places to buy plants in 2015. Featured in the L.A. Times in 2016. Featured in Voyage LA in 2021. Not to mention a great spotlight in 2025. Founded and owned by Mickey Hartigay Jr. a fellow Sag and plant lover like myself. He and every single person here is a gem, I picked up on nothing but good energy even after the end of a long day and rainy weekend everyone here does their best to bring a slice of joy to each person. Ringing up my assortment right as they were closing they still didn't miss a beat. Hoping to stop in a lot more (scheduling pending) and get to know everyone, find more plants for the house as well as a new plant for my boyfriends place of even bring him in to explore. Pup friendly. Family friendly And very much open to all. Recently started following their Insta and I'm "obsessulated!" Easy parking in the neighborhood, street parking primarily or an easy stroll in closeby, riding the metro or parked off La Brea. Four new very healthy plants in various sizes for under $20... I was impressed by the size of the store, with both an indoor and outdoor section filled plants, planting supplies, and other types of home decor. I know this wasn't cheap, but they know how much I love plants -- I have over 100 indoor plants -- so it was such a thoughtful and meaningful gift. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this company due to its replacement policy and customer service. Even with a green thumb and years of experience caring for plants, almost half of the plants I received did not survive for more than a month. What is disappointing is that the company only offers a replacement or refund within 3 days of receiving the plants. Plants are living things, and sometimes issues do not become apparent immediately. A better policy would allow customers enough time to see whether the plants are truly healthy. For comparison, companies like Costa Farms have a much more customer-friendly return policy, which shows they stand behind the quality of their plants. The person who emailed my daughter today after she reached out for help was also unfriendly and unhelpful, which made the experience even more disappointing. I truly appreciate the thoughtful gift from my children -- the idea was perfect because they know me so well -- but unfortunately, this company did not live up to the expectations that came with such a special gift.

Jimmy is one hardworking dude, I see him there all the time. This plant spot is great for small gifts like a $10 plant or a thousand dollar Australian tree! They're pretty amazing and he has a great selection. Parking is not that hard. Just drive up college street towards Jade Wok and there's plenty of metered parking north of hill street. That's a 3 min walk. Or try the lot by Bruce Lee statue ($5) or get a slice at La Sorteds and park in their $5 lot. Or go to the atm across the street at Bank of America and get validated. So many options. Of course, make it a day and get a slice of strawberry cake from the famous Phoenix Bakery and latte from Thank You Coffee.

**OK INDOOR HOUSE PLANT SELECTIONS IN CHINATOWN**…read more After eating at nearby Broadway Cuisine, we wandered into this garden shop while exploring the area. PARKING There are nearby lots, but we had street metered parking. Most likely limited, especially on weekends. AMBIANCE A typical Broadway storefront in the heart of Chinatown. The space is airy and bright, with natural light filtering in from above. PLANTS I purchased a 12" watermelon peperomia for $40. They didn't have the fiddle-leaf fig I was hoping to find. Credit cards are accepted. The overall plant selection is decent, and everything looked healthy. OVERALL The staff was pleasant but hands-off, not informative unless you ask. I didn't receive care instructions until I was practically out the door. Pricing leans medium-high (but reasonable), so this isn't a budget-friendly stop, but the quality is solid, and it's nice to support a local, family-owned business.

Be careful when doing business with The Standard Design Group…read more In 2023, my husband paid The Standard Design Group a $15,000 deposit under a contract for the company to grow 60 ficus hedges for our future landscaping project. Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, we became unable to move forward with the planting. When I first contacted Chriss, he told me we could use our deposit as store credit toward other materials or installation. After that, however, months of text messages went largely unanswered, and it became nearly impossible to get a response. It wasn't until I reached out through The Standard Design Group's Instagram account that Chriss became "responsiv again, telling us he would discuss the matter with the Board. After that, communication once again came to a standstill. When we ultimately requested a refund, we were told our only option was to pay the remaining balance of the contract and take delivery of hedges we can no longer use. Rather than working with us to find a reasonable solution or putting us in touch with management, we were repeatedly directed to a generic company email address. After reviewing our contract, we have serious concerns about the company's position. The agreement contains a cancellation provision referencing a 15% cancellation/restocking fee, yet the company is attempting to retain our entire $15,000 deposit, claiming that too much time has passed and that they have cared for the trees during that time. While we understand there were costs associated with growing and maintaining the hedges, that is the very business they are in. Larger hedges are substantially more valuable than smaller ones. If these hedges are still in their possession, they are worth significantly more today than they were when we paid our deposit in 2023. If they have already been sold, then they have recovered value from the same inventory while still attempting to retain our entire deposit. Despite this, we have never been provided with any explanation or documentation showing why the company believes it is entitled to keep the full $15,000 despite the cancellation language in its own contract. We have spent months trying to resolve this matter professionally and in good faith but have been met with poor communication, broken promises, and no meaningful effort to reach a fair resolution. As a result, we will be filing formal complaints with the California Attorney General, the Los Angeles County Department of Consumer and Business Affairs, the California Contractors State License Board (if applicable), the Federal Trade Commission, and any other appropriate regulatory agencies. We will also be pursuing all legal remedies available to recover our funds. We expected professionalism, transparency, and customer service from a company handling a project of this size. Instead, we've experienced the exact opposite. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend doing business with The Standard Design Group. Before signing a contract or paying a substantial deposit, I strongly encourage prospective customers to read reviews across all platforms. We are not the only customers who have raised concerns about this company's communication and customer service, and Chriss's name appears repeatedly in many of those reviews. Buyer beware.
