The best Palo Verde trees for 100 miles! Take it from me, I was misguided and led to believe another competitor was the way to go. Big mistake. I wasted a day's worth of driving, plus a full tank of gas before reverting to where I first fell in love with the tree to begin with at MV. I wish it were not necessary to compare nurseries, but I will. If only for the sake of pointing out how impressed I was with Moon Valley today. I am embarrassed to say that I literally drove store to store in search of a multi-branch Desert Museum Palo Verde and hit up EVERY Armstrong from here to Claremont. All of the competitors' options were single-branch, many with foliage starting around 7ft high. Each store had 2 or 3 pots max, so I began to think that my expectations were too grand. Afterall, I had only ever admired the tree in a 25+ gallon pot. The 15/gal were flimsy twigs in a pot seemingly 3xs too large. My Hail Mary was to reach out to Moon Valley, and like the others, I was told that they have what I want in store. I made the decision that if this nursery did not provide, I would give up the search for a later time and with better planning. Just as I was pulling into the lot, "Eye of the Tiger" played on the radio, everything felt kismet. The trees and staff at Moon Valley were full of life compared to all the others I had seen today! Since I had called ahead, they already knew what I had in mind. First I told them my budget and then a lovely service member was queued and ready to go-cart us to the product within my budget. It was the most beautiful one I had seen all day and exactly what I had wished to find. Best Father's Day gift I have chosen in many years. 10/10, would recommend. read more

I've been working with Moon Valley Nurseries on a large tree we planted in my front yard, and the experience has been excellent from start to finish. It took a crew of 8 to 10 people to bring the tree in and get it planted, and they did an incredible job with the placement. They walked me through exactly what I needed to do to care for it, especially during that crucial first year. I've also had two visits from their MVP Pro Care team, and Kevin, Alba, and Travis Zack were fantastic. They showed up on time, gave me a heads up before arriving, and took the time to explain what they were doing and how I should continue caring for the tree to keep it healthy. They were professional, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about their work. Overall, working with Moon Valley has been easy and seamless. I highly recommend them for large tree installations or any yard plants you're considering. They really know their plants and how to care for them properly. read more

If you're planning a big tree purchase, check Facebook Marketplace first. I didn't know the true cost of trees and paid the price for it--literally. Local nurseries on Marketplace sell the same trees with nowhere near the 200% markup, and the service is often better. I paid $10,000 for what turned out to be the smallest, thinnest, already-dying privacy hedges. Completely overpriced and disappointing. They even sent out an "arborist" after I raised concerns. I specifically pointed out that one tree was thin and dying. She did nothing, left it in place--and now the tree is completely dead. Never again. I learned a very expensive lesson due to lack of knowledge and experience. Hopefully you don't have to. Learn from my wallet. I'm still stuck with a dead tree. read more

I love anything and everything plants. I happen to see this place while on my way to Home Depot so I stopped in. There were so many amazing shrubs, cacti, trees and more. They also recently opened an indoor plant section through the office area. I felt the cost of something's was a bit high but then the cost of other things were reasonable. This place is such a SCAM! Moon valley charges exorbitant prices for "quality" and "professionally grown trees" claiming they grow everything themselves Well THEY DON'T! I went to get citrus trees after stopping by Home Depot down the street. But what do I see?Another nursery there delivering CITRUS. I came back later in the day with my wife and saw the same recently delivered trees there , now just with Moon Valley branding and a crazy price ($400 for a 15 gallon! And if I wanted it planted $500 + $300 for delivery, $800!!!) On top of this I saw delivery trucks from a ton of other nurseries delivering flowers and plants too! They get them delivered early in the morning so people don't see , but I don't know if Moon Valley grows ANYTHING. Home Depot literally had citrus for $60-$100 And when I called "Frantz" I told them I was a landscaper and got quoted the same from them Moon valley just buys trees from other vendors and then hikes the price up 4-5x It's a SCAM Just have your landscaper or contractor buy straight from the source and you'll save yourselves a TON of money When I told Moons I had a landscaper all of the sudden prices for everything were cut LITERALLY in half It's all a facade Don't get scammed! read more

If it can't get any better, Camille R. did!, I believe she is a manager or manager for the managers (she should be if not) because she handled her subject (me) with precision. I am not an easy person to please/convince after several incidences of feeling mishandled. But for her to reach out twice and also have the sales rep reach out to apologize for any miscommunication or mishandling shows the 'Big' personality/professionalism Camille put forth. She also represented the company she works for in a much better light. I truly appreciate people like her. We need more of this in a big company/franchise as this is lost in the business world this day and age. Staff/employees and customers come and go, but if you have business handlings the way Camille handled her 'customer service' to the end, then this is a way to secure repeat customers and reputation of a name. read more

My husband and I needed landscaping for our new home and got a tip from our neighbor to visit Moon Valley. Everyone at Moon Valley Nursery in North Hollywood took such great care of us from start to finish. It's so huge and would've been so easy to feel overwhelmed but Ani helped us navigate our way through their massive selection and she chose some really beautiful trees and plants for us (we are obsessed with our new palo verde tree!!). They also offer some really great packages that help you get the most bang for your buck, which was very appreciated. The day of the delivery and planting went so smoothly and quickly thanks to Ani's continued overnight and great work by Enrique, Ricardo, Christopher, and Alberto. Worth the drive to this amazing nursery!! They have every imaginable plant and tree in a vast facility. It is very professionally designed and has a high-end feeling to it rather than many of its competitors in the surrounding areas. There seems to be nothing they don't carry. The staff are extremely helpful and eager to help you find what you need. I was looking for a very large fiddle leaf fig tree, which seems to be difficult to find surprisingly. Not only did they have it, but they had it at an amazing price. They even threw in a huge bottle of what they call moon juice, which is a great plant fertilizer Concentrate and carried it to my car. Moon Nurseries -- Landscaping Experience We were at a standstill with our gardening plans. The landscape architects we had interviewed simply were not a match for us. In an effort to move forward, we decided to visit Moon Nurseries, and it was there that we met Robert Cisneros. From the very beginning, Robert impressed us. He immediately sat down to discuss our needs, took detailed notes, and personally drove us through the nursery on several occasions -- three or four times in total. We appreciated how patient, cooperative, and considerate he was throughout the process. Robert took the time to explain the large plants and trees we ordered, including their origins and how each would be affected by the geography and topography of our property. He even invited an associate to join us at our home for a walkthrough to ensure the right selections were made. We conducted several of these walkthroughs before planting began. The service was excellent, the selection of plants outstanding, and the planting process smooth and efficient. The team of workers Robert coordinated were professional and exceptional in their work ethic. Although Moon Nurseries is not inexpensive, we truly feel we received outstanding value for the time, service, and quality provided. Do not recommend this place. My mother was looking for a Santana Hibiscus flower, which is so difficult to find in Los Angeles. As I was doing my research online, I found the exact flower she was looking for on their website a few weeks ago. I called the store and spoke to a SA named Camille who said she would check if the plant was available and would call me back but never did. I called again the next day, and spoke to a person named Humberto and proceeded in stating the same thing however, did follow-up with me. He texted to confirm the specific style of plant I was looking for was unavailable but had other options in-stock or could place an order for what I specifically was looking for and would be ready in a few weeks. I placed the order online and waited two weeks. I did not hear from anyone so I texted him again and said it would arrive the Friday of the following week. I reached out today to make sure the item had arrived as I do not live close to this establishment. He prompted me to call the same person I initially spoke to (Camille) when I first called and she did not answer. I called the store directly where I spoke to an Anthony and said he would confirm and call back to see if the flower arrived. Waited over an hour and did not hear back so I once again called the store and the same person answered saying he would speak to Humberto or Camille to confirm. I received a follow-up call to say the plant had not arrived due to an issue with the delivery truck and how the plant was in-stock at their Malibu location if I was still interested. I think it's outrageous to have wait 2 weeks after having to follow-up myself multiple times and be inconvenienced due to a mistake from their distribution/delivery people and not accommodate to make things right and have the plant shipped to me or the store someway/somehow. Instead I was given the option of a refund or for ME to pick-up the plant all the way in Malibu when I live in the Silverlake area and is a very long distance. Joseline Canjura greeted me at the parking lot, and took me on a cart to the section of the nursery where I would find beautiful, healthy young fruit trees. Exactly what I wanted to find. After I picked out three, she tagged them and we arranged for the nursery to deliver and plant them. The price comes with 3 visits from their arborist during this coming year to make sure that they are thriving.
