Since then, I've had to switch dentists 3 times. The reason... the bar was high coming out of Stansell and was hard to find the same level of service. I finally have switched to insurance that is accepted by Stansell so of course I came back. Upon calling the front desk on Wednesday for an issue I wanted to get looked at for a 2nd opinion, I was given an appointment with Dr Kat the following Monday. And, the evening of the call, I received an email to sign up on the patient portal which allowed me to upload the xrays from the previous dentist along with my medical history. I walked in on Monday and the front desk had me just sign a HIPAA form and I was set..... efficiency! Gabriella(sp?) brought me in and asked for details of the issue I had. She actually discussed it with me face to face and even provided some recommendations based on her husband's similar experiences. All the other dentists offices seemed to just want to process you, not really sit down and discuss things (especially the last one I had). Then, Dr Kat came in and really went into some great explanations before and after her examination. I asked several questions and she answered them with full dialogue until I was satisfied. Then she offered up some possible recommendations that she'll know more certain when I come back in for a cleaning and new xrays since my previous cleaning was just a few months ago. I don't really give out 5 stars very easily but I had a hard time finding any reason not to in this case (should I deduct a star because I had to walk in the rain to get in the building as they didn't come out and hold an umbrella over me?... yeah you're right... too picky :-) ). Everyone in the office was very friendly, efficient and actually seemed to like their jobs! And, I know Dr Stansell reads these reviews so please tell your folks GREAT JOB! And, I'm glad to be back :-) By the way, if you haven't figured it out yet, folks.... I HIGHLY recommend this location of Stansell Dentistry!

What ultimately made me leave the clinic after 3 years is the horrible customer service and poorly run office. Regular cleanings that should take 45 minutes took 3 hours because of wait times. You can tell there are not enough staff for the number of patients being treated. The final straw for me occurred when I attempted to order a bite guard. My order was canceled without my knowledge and after a week of back and forth they still were not able to order the bite guard. I do not recommended this dentist and will be going elsewhere after this experience.

I could not be more impressed with the services that I received and would highly recommend this provider. The hygienist, Jodi was amazing and very gentle and thorough at the same time. She was very patient and was given quite a task because I had so much plaque build up. I am not a great patient and she went above and beyond and was very kind and understanding. Dr. Singh is the best! He is knowledgeable and professional and kind and extremely understanding and gentle. I appreciate that he is not pushy and takes his time to show you and explain exactly what is needed and why. I have adult children that live in the area and they recommended this office to me. I am Zheng Li, a 60-year-old immigrant woman living alone in the U.S. My son has been deployed to the Middle East, so I have no family support here. My English is limited, and I rely on help to communicate. On July 18, 2025, I went to this clinic for severe tooth pain. I asked if they accepted my insurance, and they said yes. After the exam, they took a $267 deposit and scheduled my next visit for August 5. When I came back, I asked again about my insurance coverage. Only then did they admit they are not in-network with my insurance -- something they never told me before. If I had known, I would never have paid or agreed to treatment. I asked for a refund, but they initially refused. Later, an administrator named Elizabeth promised if the costs were too high, I would get a full refund. But my insurance showed I owe $1,077, not the $419.20 the clinic said. I emailed on October 3, called twice in September and October, but received no response or callback. They have ignored me completely. I have been living with pain from July to October, unable to get proper treatment because they are holding my deposit hostage. As a woman alone with no family support and limited English, this has been an incredibly painful and isolating experience. I feel disrespected, misled, and deeply hurt by their dishonest and unprofessional behavior. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and urge others -- especially immigrants and vulnerable patients -- to avoid this clinic. They were the most unprofessional, incompetent, and untrustworthy dental group I've ever experienced. It took them almost a month to treat me because they were denying that, both, of my doctors hadn't sent back my clearance form. My doctors sent me proof of the fax that was sent weeks ago. I called my insurance carrier to look into to it. The next day, the finally had it. I needed a deep cleaning, a filling, and my wisdom tooth extracted. The dentists did nothing, they watched and trained others, without asking my permission, then they wanted me to call someone else for my wisdom tooth. I was also told, I had gum disease but I didn't see that in the report. I will have more dental work done, but it won't be there, and I wouldn't advise anyone go to Atlantic Family Dental, at Garner, if they care about their teeth. I'm going to ask my next dentist to check their work before begining, because I don't want anyone else to be help responsible for their unprofessionalism and possible incompetence.

I…read moreoriginally signed a contract to receive clear correct treatment with the prior dentist, and my case was given to the new group without proper communication. Their lack of transparency with the difficulty of transferring my clear correct case left me in the dark for almost six months with no new trays. On another occasion this dentist ordered me a retainer rather than trays causing another delay. After almost a year with this new dentist, my clear correct treatment is "done" (a front tooth is still not aligned). He was very kind in doing some composit on my front tooth, but this does not make up for the lengthy lack of communication and unfinished tooth alignment. I was instructed at the end that I only needed to wear my retainer at night. After noticing my teeth shifting I did some research and found out clear correct has very clear suggestions to wear retainers full time for quite a while before going to just nightly. I'm exhausted and disappointed with my treatment, the lack of communication (and knowledge regarding clear correct) and my still unfinished smile after paying so much money. Endless frustrations and delays. I'll be seeking a different dentist.
