Got a call this morning on a Saturday from Kinecta saying there was fraud on my card/account. I was able to make it down before closing to get a new debit card. Lee helped me get the fraud claim put in and get the new card. He was friendly, super helpful and answered my questions. I also I needed a cashiers check and he was able to add that in and got me on my way without waiting long. My last few trips into the branch have been great experiences. read more

Nowadays I only use Kinecta for direct deposit. I keep 95% of my money with a separate bank. I've used Kinecta for years and have recently moved to La Mirada. This is the closest branch to me. I'm glad I only have to come here once a month to get rent money. This location never has enough tellers. There's always a long line. read more

I have love/hate relationship with this bank. They give great rates of course but the long wait times over the phone and in person is insane and wildly unprofessional. If the issue is being short staffed then please hire more people. I and others shouldn't have to wait on hold/in person 30 min to an hour to talk to someone that can help. Or hire better receptionists that can actually help with the work needing to be done over the phone or at the front of the line. read more

Hey Kinecta Branch Brea, it's unknown to the public how many times the ATM area and front doors get sanitized and cleaned. I'm just saying window cleaner would go a long way. I've been using this credit union for a ling time. It seems their customer service is a hit or miss from just teller services to auto loans. Some are great and some not so much. One of the credit unions that charges you for their checking if you don't meet certain criteria. Will probably be closing this account as I get better rates and service at Navy Federal. read more

Came in today to make a deposit, I know it's hard to find good workers nowadays but it's still unacceptable the lack of customer service and professionalism. It was nice to not have a line to stand in when I walked in, sat right down to be helped. The teller was leaning back in his chair like he was on a break, asked me what I needed today, I told him just to make a deposit and gave him the money and my drivers license. He got up, counted the money, sat back down leaning back, no interaction except for staring at his computer, asked anything else, handed me my receipt, again with no acknowledgement, I had to reach over and get my own drivers license off of the desk. Customer service was extremely uninviting for a customer. Maybe next time I should apologize to him when I get there for bothering him at work. read more

Don't know where to start. However, we are definitely closing this new account. We just opened. We deposited a check. There was a five day hold on it. That was frustrating but Elizabeth was nice enough to do it after three days. 2 weeks later we deposited the same amount of check from the same bank and they put a 10 day hold on it not including the weekends putting us in severe financial situation. This was way too long. We asked them to please release the funds.We sent them pictures of the clear check from the other bank. We sent them everything they asked and they gave us the hardest time and still would not take the hold off today they won't till 2/20/24 gave us the runaround for the longest time and today they still will not do it. Alexis is very rude and talks people with no manners whatsoever and she does not care what you have to go through. She says "go ahead go ahead" for everything you tell her you're gonna do for the bad customer service, it's really been a horrible experience with this CU. as soon as they do release the funds on February 20 2024. I've been a Kinecta member for many years now and for as long as I can remember their customer service is still the same. They all lack training in customer service starting in Management. Every single time I go they have me waiting anywhere from 10 to 15 minutes while other employees are just chitchatting about their weekend or their day instead of being worried about customers. On Sat 4/3/2021 waited 45 minutes outside with only 4 persons ahead of me. Then, while I'm the next one to go in, an employee comes out and asks me what I'm here for, no problem, I explain I'm just adding my wife to my checking account, she's already in the system and she's here with me. This was the first time I saw and employee come outside to speak to the customers inline. I'm told I need to make an appointment and come back in a hour since there's no one to help me at this time. I inform this employee I'm not moving and you better get your manager out here right now, at this point there's roughly 18 customers waiting behind me and listening to my situation. Now this gal comes out and says I will need to make an appointment, I say I've changed my mind, I want to close my account now, she walks me to her station and asks for my information. Every time I come to this bank it's nothing but a hassle or I always have to wait to get the simplest of tasks finished. It used to be Hughes aircraft Federal credit Union and then it changed Kinecta. I only stayed here because I have a couple small accounts connected through my parents, after I started teaching I moved over to Schools first credit union which is amazing, and so much more customer friendly. At the Brea location, this is one of the only banks I know of that took an outside ATM and put it inside with limitations on hours for their own customers to use it. This makes no sense and this is definitely banking done different. At every other bank that I've had, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, schools first I can drive up anytime on my way to work and deposit a check that I need to get Deposited right away. But not here I have to sit in my car and wait from 8:15 in the morning until 9 AM to drop off a check because I don't have time to come back later. Banking done different couldn't be more accurate. Bank took 2 weeks to process a a check deposit, resulting in my mortgage payment being late. To top it off I was charged 2 $25 NSF fees in quick succession even though I had the funds pending. So bank is slow to process my money but quick to charge fees. Also got denied a business credit card, yet I was able to purchase a condo with my credit so I guess I'm just not the kind of customer this bank cares to have, even though my credit profile clearly suggests otherwise if a lender trusts me to pay back hundreds of thousands of dollars on a mortgage. Also, I was able to get my checks processed with a big name bank in a few minutes. Please don't make the same mistake I did, save yourself the time and money. read more

We joined Kinecta Credit Union in August of 2018. Since we joined it has been a joke! If you need service in the branch you better block out a full day! My wife and I have exceptional credit. They brow-beat us into a credit card with "low" interest, only to approve us for $1000 limit @ 18%. Here's the catch, we close the account it dings are credit. But here's the best part, our card had a fraudulent charge, so we canceled the card and disputed the charge. They denied it! A Blaze Pizza we NEVER went to while we were out of town!!! I've never really had an issue with customer service but as far as managing money-it's the worst bank. I've experienced nothing but frustration and inconvenience. My card was blocked time and time again for normal, everyday purchases but then a very suspicious and fraudulent charge of $800 went unnoticed. It took months for them to investigate and get my money back. Traveling with this card is nearly impossible and the website is unhelpful when you're overseas. I already started the process of switching to Bank of America; they have a great app and much better travel services. read more

Worse bank to do business with. I financed an auto loan through them and half the time their website doesn't let you log in to pay your bill so your bill ends up being late. Then their phone lines are usually down. Then once you get through to someone of course they are rude to you. All just to pay your bill. They've remodeled and downsized this location so much that it's over a 60 minute wait just to talk to a teller. Half of what used to be office space, seating area and space for customer service is now just indoor atm. I used to go in and out so quickly for any service. I do sometimes have to wait but it is understandable people have to learn to be patient you can see that they are doing the best they can under the circumstances! I planned to leave early in the morning to drive to Missouri. Now the asst mgr, Rene , canceled the debit card linked to my card for no apparent reason?? Now I have to delay my departure to go get a new card when they open at 9am. Needless to say I am not a happy camper at this time! Kinecta is refusing to waive late fees due to Corona Virus issues. I believe the banking industry should take the same path as the insurance industry and help out clients in need by allowing people to pay late if needed and waive fees. What happened to their walk-up atms? I came here to make deposits for years because, as a member of Schools First, this was the closest credit union atm I could reach when I worked down the street. Now non-Kinecta members can't use the atms when they're closed because you need a Kinecta card to get to the machines and that's just an asshole move. If I could given them a minus 10 I would. I would not recommend anyone putting the9money there. Had my debt card hacked over the weekend found out right away but not by them. Debt card was used 17 times within 15min took everything but $21. Of course you can't reach alive person on weekend but was Abel to close card. Speak to a live person today and because the money that was taken out is pending they said that they have to let it go through before they can file a fraud case. But they verified Debt card was closed Saturday. So I look on my account just now and they let them take more money 17 timesWTF. I have been with then since I was 17 several decades ago.
