After a difficult initial couple years in public school, the Aurora Waldorf approach suited his learning interests and stimulation needs far better. Always a terrific child, youth, teen and young adult, the experience here was foundational in paving the way to a brilliant life and future. We are thankful to have found the Waldorf method and to Aurora Waldorf for helping bring out his very best. We couldn't be more proud of him, now in his 30s and thriving.

Whatever. My two grand-daughters are/were attending a parent/preschooler get together from late January until either next week or the week beyond. No one seems to know. My biggest issue with this place is that I prepaid the tuition, It wasn't excessive however I've started receiving emails - not intended for me- from parents who are requesting money back because they and their children did not attend. Odd. My daughter was informed that if her children even exhibited a slight tendency towards sickness......STAY AWAY!!! I'm cool with that however it seems that this policy does not apply not apply to everyone. Tried emailing the school and the post is closed. Stay away.

Communication with family is extremely lacking. Family is not informed of emergency situations such as ER visits. Most residents rely on medication. I don't understand how a resident can run out of their prescriptions, then subsequently suffer because of it and the ARC not perceive this as a problem. Many of the staff are wonderful, caring individuals but something is obviously wrong if there is constant turnover and a severe lack of communication. have to ask - what is upper management doing or not doing?

I give it low stars because the overall organization is very poorly run by corporate management. They don't maintain their buildings, take limited insurance and bill in cycles that are not consistent. The services you receive for your child are only as good as the person hired. Training is very low for employees and turn over is high. They don't pay very much and I don't think they give out vacation time. It's hard to rely on BTs as they are always calling off and no back-ups. Not enough consistency for the children. People really rely on these services. I hope they can do better soon!

(Part 4 of 1) 10/14/19…read moreI am sure an all girls school has their own crazy antics that some girls did. Nevertheless, the main thing that I would change if I were back in time, is wearing some freaking flip flops instead of walking on the bathroom floor/showers areas.  Once done, students walked or ran back to their dormitories. This could be a long walk during the cold and miserable days. During the hot times, some (including myself) walked back to the dorm in only our towels.  Some students got a huge surprise when their towels got pulled off of them. Under the wrong circumstances some women caught an eye full and laughed; as well, as other male students. Teenagers at there finest... The Resident Assistants who are high school seniors and act like supervisors for the dormitory teachers, guarded the showers and kept everyone else from using the showers.(certainly in my dorm called Templeton) Evidently the all the classmates in the Templeton Dorm did not have the guts to challenge their authority.   We were all freshmen in that dorm and we all were intimidated by the seniors. (This another thing I would change in me if I were to go back in time my 9th grade year...there was no rule where you couldn't shower in the morning, afternoon or night in Templeton...it was just the Resistant Assistants being assholes...with the exception of one or two of them later on.) There were things that some seniors did that intimidated other classmates around the school, but after my first year, I was not intimidated by anyone.  Not even the teacher that threatened to beat me up for saying some sexual remarks to his girlfriend. I did not say those things to her, but if I did, I would have told him right then and there since he was all confrontational with me. (Of course this would have lead to a darker path. One of use would be dead and the other in prison... I am glad had restraint... I don't remember if I reported him to another teacher, but I know nothing happened to him in the years I was there...)  Ahhh the things that happen at school.   Today is 10/10/19 and I am sure everyone uses the showers in their own dormitories ...(I hope so)... since both sexes now live on campus. There are a lot more memories that I am sure will come out when I write about Winter Carnival,  Orientation,  Senior Trips, Crimes&Punishments,  musicals and acting to name several things. I am happy this school is part of my life. I am not sure who I would have been if not for The Gow School.  More to come later on...

Excellent Bussiness to receive Services from The Staff is very professional and they treat you like…read moreFamily and they are willing to go the Extra Mile to help you out from obtaining services to getting the proper Services their job development department does an excellent job with helping individuals prep for a job interview to matining a job. Their Reshab department does an excellent job also by helping you with cleaning if needed at your place of residence to taking you food shopping to Dr's APTs to even helping you find a place to live and budget your money if needed. LDA also has excellent events that individuals can go on like for example the Movies to going the Mall to having a Walking club in the Spring and the summer and many other events. Their intake and educational advocacy department does an outstanding job with getting people into the agency and also helping you with IEP and CSE Meetings and guiding you through out your Child's schooling all the way to graduation and the requirements needed. The department even guides you on what services to ask for to make your child's schooling a smoother experience. I highly recommend The Learning Disability's Association Of Western New York. They help with many different disabilities.

My…read moreson had a lot of issues with ear infections and his hearing suffered because of it which put him behind on his speech. He LOVES Ms. Shannon so much, running to her with the biggest smile and hug every time he sees her. He went from not being able to say mama/dada to saying sentences and working through his frustrations by communicating instead of being physical thanks to her. She is great at communicating his progress and things we should be working on at home. I wish I would have found her sooner for my older son.

He has a difficult time transitioning to new tasks and Fragile X causes his speech to sound muffled and difficult to understand. Shannon was professional, efficient, and effective. She used a variety of methods to help him transition into each therapy session and he responded to her and cooperated without any bad behaviors. Also, his communication skills improved. He started to answer questions using complete sentences, used more than one to two word answers, and his speech was clearer. As parents, she was wonderful to work with and helped us find ways to assist him in communicating. Wish we could give her more than just the five stars!

The class my child is in has a teacher and an assistant. This school also has an optional homework club, so my child learned to do homework each day after school. Recently, I was here twice once for a celebration of milestone. One of the university areas reached, which was held in an outside space that was really quite lovely. The food serve was good. The space was easy to navigate was all nice. The acoustic system left a little bit to be desired but other than that they did a great job. Unless you're coming at night, parking here can be very challenging. Be sure to read the signs or you will get a ticket of some sort.

I transferred to UB and attended from 06-08…read more Overall my experience at UB was awesome. Most of the professors go above and beyond. 100 and some 200 level classes can have 150+ students. Most 300 level were in small classrooms. The north campus building are very odd looking. I was told by a UB staff that this was done purposely. I have visited a handful of other SUNY colleges and UB is by far the biggest and nicest. D1 football here. HORNS UP. Besides the university, Buffalo is a great city to live in. It is considered a large city but is small for being a large city. There are a ton of things to do year round. Amazing food options. Bills and Sabres. If you are interested in the SUNY system, would prefer a large campus and has the major you are wanting I would highly recommend applying to UB.
