Was directed here for my primary doctor who is currently overseen my physical therapy. Is anybody who lives on the West side knows, any movement at all in this hideous modern day Los Angeles traffic has to plan ahead to navigate appointments, meetings, and damn near everything else. Lol I was instantly greeted by friendly staff as I entered this particular office which is located on the 4th floor of a well-maintained rather chic building. Instead of the usual fill out this fill out that paperwork, Dr David Pakozdi approached me and proceeded to inform me to come into the patient room as he was ready to rock and roll-and would have me fill out the requested paperwork on the fly, which was fine with me. I proceeded to have the scheduled procedure, which basically consisted of being hooked up to some electrodes in my lower calves and leg regions. And while the procedure itself wasn't the most comfortable thing in the world, the doctor and the staff handled everything as professional as one could. I was in and out in under an hour. This is top of the line when it comes to physical therapy. David and his team really care about the patients. There are usually two therapists on the floor and two aids so the ratio of patients to therapists and aids is good. It is not an assembly line. David is like a surgeon as he is extremely knowledgeable and hands on in every facet and almost all body parts. When he's not working w/you, he has eyes behind his head and is watching you and offers help when needed. The other therapist Josh is also excellent and knowledgeable. My entire family has been treated, over the years, for recovery from shoulder surgery, knee replacement , and spine fusions. There are phenomenal. You can 1:1 attention the whole time and they don't just show you a few exercises each session and then go and check in on you every 15 minutes. They're with you the whole time, observing, correcting, etc. The one drawback is they don't take insurance so it can be pricey. If it's a sprained ankle, I'd go to your run of the mill. If it's a hard to treat or chronic injury come here. read more

I cannot recommend Kinetic Orthopedic and David Packozdi more highly for back problems. I was diagnosed, based on an MRI, with severe stenosis and was having significant pain in my lower back and legs. I couldn't walk more than a block or so or stand for more than 5 minutes without triggering the pain. The only way to relieve it was to sit down. I saw a surgeon, who suggested scheduling me immediately for a laminectomy. I tried epidurals instead -- 3 of them over a period of a couple months. They had no effect. So I tried physical therapy with KO, which my primary care doc had recommended. It was obvious from the get-go that David understood the back and was extremely experienced in dealing with spinal problems. I had personal attention from David or his assistant Zaldi throughout my 50-minute workouts. They are both very dedicated to their clients' success. David also gave me a regime of exercises to do at home on days I didn't have appointments with him. The best thing I can say about KO is that, after several months of treatments and home exercise, my back and leg pain "disappeared." And I mean the quoted word literally: After roughly 10 months of severe and physically limiting pain in my lower back and legs, it was gone. I now walk several miles with no hint of pain or discomfort. It's been almost exactly a year since a very highly regarded spinal surgeon told me I needed back surgery. David Pakodzi is a capable physical therapist but that make him a quality healthcare provider. He is a petty man for whom the idiosyncrasies of his practice are more important than his patients. In terrific pain I made a therapy appointment with his assistant. On the day of the appointment - in too much pain to drive - I Uber'd to his office. Upon my arrival both he and said assistant stated I did not have an appointment. This even though I had received a text reminder. When I protested both lied to me. Pakodzi refused to perform a brief manual adjustment of my lumbar spine that as it had in the past would have resolved the pain - this even though I had been a loyal patient for going on 30 years. After stared pie faced at me and refused treatment I had to Uber back home. I've recommended him to many friends. I herewith rescind my recommendation. I have lost all respect for him. No matter how skilled a PT is if he has lost compassion he should close his shop. David Pakodzi has lost compassion. read more

20 years ago I had a very serious back problem and was told that I needed a spinal fusion, but that I could try some physical therapy to delay the inevitable. I went to Kinetic Orthopaedic and David was confident that I could avoid the surgery. Since then I have walked in two marathons (L.A. and Chicago!) and birthed two babies (Charlie and Kate!). I was in my late forties for both of my pregnancies and I had no back issues at all throughout the pregnancies nor during the subsequent intense lugging involved in toting toddlers. Back problems are really common in pregnancy at any age, and I sailed through both with no issues! A year and a half after the birth of my second child, I did have one set back and I returned to KO and am now pain free again! David is the best! Since then, both my kids have had their own experiences with David and Kinetic Orthopaedic...both suffering from Osgood-Schlatter (knee problems) and he is great with kids too! This is a truly deserved 5* review for David & his team at Kinetic. I was referred to David a few months ago with a damaged nerve & a bulging disc in my neck. I had previously seen another PT who was successful in worsening my issues, and I was in a substantial amount of ongoing pain. My treatment plan was customized for my injury, my range of motion progress has been monitored bi-weekly & the strength gains that I've experienced have been remarkable. I have gone from laying on the couch with an ice pack around my neck with near constant muscle spasms to being back at full strength & living normally. As a patient you will work with David closely & directly, and you will understand exactly what each exercise is & why you are doing it. You will be able to ask questions & you will receive comprehensive answers. After tweaking both my wrist and shoulder, I thought it best to see a doctor for a professional opinion. Simply put, my experience with David Pakozdi exceeded my expectations. He's clearly the authority when it comes to the body; he simply knows his stuff inside and out. His acumen when it comes to medicine/the anatomy, coupled with his years of experience just makes him the final word when it comes to physical therapy. He is EXTREMELY thorough, and will take his time with you, like a relentless detective getting to the cause of an issue; and he will find that cause. While doing so, he will make sure your questions and concerns are addressed, constantly. All this leads to feeling like he cares, which is refreshing. Is he expensive? I suppose that's somewhat subjective. In this case, I truly call it - you get what you pay for. His office is very upfront about the costs. Don't expect to walk in there just paying your copay amount. I understand that for some this might make it cost prohibitive. Personally speaking, I too would love to just pay the copay on my insurance plan, but have no problem justifying their rate, clearly based on my positive experience. The bottom line: If you're in a real need to get to the heart of an underlying muscular issue, and are more concerned with the results/understanding the problem as opposed to saving $150/200, then you're going to want David Pakozdi on your team. read more

Rarely, if ever, have I posted a review, but when the experience exceeds expectation it must be acknowledged. David is extremely thorough from start to finish, starting with a super detailed consultation to determine the proper treatment/s which are phased in at the appropriate times as ones condition improves. There is nothing haphazard about the approach as range of motions are measured during treatment sessions to gauge progress. David and his crew are thoughtful, knowledgeable and caring--and they throw in plenty of good humor and lively discussions of current affairs with the workouts. A back injury had laid me low when I started sessions with David in fall 2019. PT (along with medications, supplements, acupuncture and an epidural steroid injection) got me over the hump and back on the hiking trail. Once COVID loosens its grip, I'll be eager to return for a tuneup. The studio has multiple machines that look like instruments of torture but are actually helpful. The office limits the number of people in the studio at any one time, and that makes for more one-on-one care and less stress. Go for it! read more

This is gold standard of what physical therapy should be. Professional and focused, clearly and specifically customized to your malady -- in my case an L4/L5 issue that became more that just problematic, especially after several visits to a previous PT. It's work, so I suggest going in knowing that. But David and his team keep the atmosphere loose and make it enjoyable. Over the course of the last four months, they have carefully monitored me, both the work we do on premises and the home program I am supposed to be doing. If you do the work, you get better. It's that simple. Yet as logical as that sounds, that rarely happens with any other physical therapists. I am not yet where I want to be, but I'm confident I'm going to get there because the results up to this point are undeniable. And for that, I cannot recommend David highly enough. read more

I turned to David in desperation over long lasting pains in my right upper shoulder. For almost a year I was convinced that I had torn some muscles in my upper back and the pain was now moving up my neck as well. After spending years without knowing what was causing many of my physical ailments, David was able to quickly diagnose me and direct me to excellent orthopedic doctors. I have now rehabbed 3 separate injuries at this clinic and each time I was given quality care and was quickly back to my everyday tasks and athletic hobbies. His associate TJ Nathan and the whole staff are all very friendly and try to make each appointment as pleasant as possible.
