Not only that but we tried calling 10 times ahead of time because we were stuck in traffic trying to notify we were running late. No one answered any call it was crazy. Came to this place for my dad's 75th birthday because we've been to Tempo in Orange County and thought we would have the same or better experience. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. We secretly asked the waiter for a birthday dessert and he requested for my dad's ID. We were shocked because we wanted to surprise him. Service sucked at Valle de Guadalupe King and Queen . We had reservations at 6 and waited outside for about 40 mins. By the time we got in the food service took almost 1 hour. Made reservations for a Friday and when we arrived the security greeted us and was very nice. The lady that you check in with asked where we would like to be seated and I asked what she recommended and she recommended the rooftop. Our waiter was very attentive and kept checking us. On September 11, 2022 I came to this location (I actually use to come here a lot) we brought some clients and I have to say it was the worst experience we usually come for the tomahawk steak even though it's over priced we like the experience. We arrived hungry of course we ordered 2 tomahawk steaks 3 orders of birria tacos, some dirty fries and a sushi roll and water cause we don't drink anyway everyone received the food other than the steaks then one steak came out after 30 min or more and this one was requested at medium the waiter said the other was coming right out but since we asked for it 3/4 it was gonna take longer another 25 min past still no steak we asked again and low and behold it came out when he cut the steak the steak was cook to medium so he lied he either didn't put the steak or the kitchen clearly made a mistake the waiter was no attentive to us since we were not drinking like the other tables. But anyway after I complained nothing happened we asked for the bill after ordering two deserts for the kids the bill was $465 so we left $500 and walked out then the waiter chases us down and says we didn't leave a 10% tip I was like are you serious after that experience your lucky I don't take my change back. I think it was unprofessional for the waiter to do that. I can't believe they allow this to be done I owned two restaurants and I would never allow my employees to do that. This is supposed to be a upscale experience. I do not recommend this place as they lost a customer who regularly frequent this location and always have tipped well. NEVER again!!! Have been here multiple times BUT this weekend was my last time...I will not return. The location is in "wine country." Hence, people drink. Yet, when we drove up and gave our reservations, my sister asked if they had tequila there because we were celebrating a birthday. The parking "security" immediately said I can't let you in. This is a family restaurant and the owner, Jorge Cuevas, has given us instructions to not allow people to come in if we feel they are "partying." My sister apologized and said I asked because we are celebrating a birthday but we are not partying to get wild or drunk. We went back and forth and finally he said I'll see what my buddy at the door says. "His buddy" allowed us in but I'm sure told everyone to keep in eye on us because the entire time we were eating, we had all eyes On us. The most uncomfortable feeling ever. First of all, this place has to get rid of the name "cantina" If it's family friendly and they don't want people to drink. Second, no one who enters this place past a certain time has not had drinks bc that's what people go out there for.
