We really enjoyed this fun Cantina. Food was delicious and their happy hour is excellente!! We tried the pork belly bites ( which were basically pork belly with tortillas so tacos yum) we also had the fish tacos that were in a tasty tomato based sweet chipotle? It was really good . We also Had the Korean tacos that were like a Hawaiian pig style with corn, salsa, creama and cilantro? So yummy. Fun vibe gorgeous views, good service! We shall return
Came for a Bachelorette Dinner and was pleasantly surprised with this place. First and foremost they were able to seat us as a group of 16! (Luckily we called in advance to make accommodations since we were a huge party). 2 stories, upper level is an outdoor deck with an overhead covering. Live DJ and big screen behind the bar. The DJ was OK the night we went, he played a variety of music but his transitions were not the best and he went from upbeat Spanish music to slower English and EDM so was a little all over the place towards the end. Combination of high-top table and VIP "booths". Quite a bit of staff who are pretty friendly and attentive. We ordered a bottle and they made a whole show; I'm talking fog machines, sparklers, music, whistles, and more. Ambiance/Service - 4.5 stars. For food/drinks, I am giving it 3 stars. I ordered a "spicy margarita" and it was so watered down. There was zero spice to it and it just had floating pieces of cucumber I think it was. Honestly, very disappointed for its price. As for the food, I ordered aguachile negra and it was good! I will say I wish it was a bit more lime-y and spicy but overall it was good. All in all I'd definitely come back as their menu is extensive (a little overwhelming) but a good amount of options for sure! Definitely a place to visit with friends if you want a little more of a "club" scene in Valle.
Overall I personally wouldn't come back. Maybe if I was a local, I would visit. But I definitely won't be returning. The experience was not bad but it wasn't great. Food 4/5: Definitely good here, doesn't stand out much but it's better than average. Food is fresh and priced well. Drinks 3/5: Nothing stuck out about the drinks. Some were better than others and some were just watered down. Over priced for the value. Seating and environment 5/5: They have plenty of seating and the environment is beautiful and very relaxing to enjoy. Service 1/5: Our waiter was not attentive and we paid $140 for our entire order (including shots) we left a $45 tip and we were chased down by the hostess and told us we did not tip enough. Then the manager came out and made us feel threatened that we only left $45. He said minimum was $60. Horrible experience. Overall great place but not worth the drive or experience after feeling like I was getting robbed.
We sat on the rooftop, which felt more like a night club than a restaurant. The DJ was loud and the tables were buying rounds of shots and bottles, making the whole place extra lively. There is a huge menu that ranges from sushi to tacos to burgers.. I got the Kings Favorite taco plate which is a grilled bean, cheese, and steak taco that comes with 3 side sauces and a side of more beans. This place I'd a vibe so come prepared to party.
This is my second time coming to King & Queen in Valle de Guadalupe. The vibe was cool, the music was good and the service was very attentive. Having come on a busy holiday weekend previously, it was nice to have the restaurant basically to ourselves I ordered the blue cheese salad, while one of my friends ordered the seafood rice and the other ordered the chicken tinga Taquitos. The blue cheese salad was really good. I enjoyed the bites that had the blue cheese and nuts because it was simultaneously sweet and savory. The portion was huge so I only had about half before I was full Both of my friends found their dishes to be equally good. The portions were great for the price and were presented beautifully King and Queen is definitely my favorite Friday night spot in Valle and I will definitely return next time I visit!
If you come to Valle de Guadalupe, don't miss this place. Birria tacos delicious! Octopus super tender and flavorful. A nice selection of wines and a lot of fun drinks. The place is very lively, and a really fun decoration and not too far out of the way And last, but not least, the service was great! A great change from all the terrible service we been having at these other so-called five star restaurants. Tony El mesero fue excellente!!! he was very attentive, and it was just the right amount of asking questions and checking in to see if we were OK. Will definitely come back here my next trip to Valle.
We visited many restaurants during our trip, but I have to say this is one of the most versatile places I have visited yet. They have pages and pages of choices not only in drinks, but in food. Their drinks were refreshing, especially during the hot summer days. Their food came out quick. This place is a total vibe. You arrive and you're automatically just happy to be there because it's definitely a cheerful place to come and listen to music and just relax. It is kind of loud so if you're trying to have a conversation, this is not the place to be but if you're trying to have a fun time then it's a perfect spot:
I really wanted to love this place, service by David was perfect, drinks strong but the food was lacking. The hot cheeto fries needed something else, the hot cheeto was not the star of the dish and was overpowered by the sauce. The vegetarian tacos were meh, the tortilla was soggy and the salsa bland. The best dish was the shrimp tempura jalapeño roll which I added cream cheese to and was just really good. We also got the taco sampler plate which was basic, no flavors to write home about. The margarita Sampler was nice it was served with a small firework which was funny to have lit up at an almost empty restaurant. I really wanted to love this this spot as Mr Tempo has such good energy on social media but it didn't live up to the hype. The portions are huge so it's a good spot to go with a group.
I first had King & Queen in Little Italy in San Diego and loved their vegetarian menu so when I was visiting the Valle I had to try it here too! We made reservations that same day on their website and when we arrived we were quickly greeted and seated. They have an outdoor patio and are pet friendly :). There was upbeat music playing but it wasn't too loud where we could still have conversations. We had a 7 yr old dining with us and it wasn't too party-like around dinner time which was nice. We ordered the hippie tacos, tacos de la sierra, and the hot cheeto cheese fries. The hot cheeto fries were so good! Not overly spicy or too heavy. The tacos de la sierra were crispy and flavorful. Their chipotle sauce paired well with the grilled tacos. I enjoyed the hippie tacos a little more than the tacos de la sierra because of the sweet potato tortillas and the avocado puree. So much flavor in one bite! I also had their sangria and I really enjoyed it! It was super refreshing. If you decide to dine here, make sure to also visit the lavender fields right behind their restaurant. The lavender is super fragrant and there are lots of picture ops!!

I'm from San Diego and oh my goodness thia King and Queen location is more lively than the one in SD and that spot is already wildn out! So jsut imagine what this spot is like. Great service, good food. Make sure to double check your cash when paying the bill... the waiters will try and swindle you lol.
Fun atmosphere, reminds me of a Calaveras type of vibe. The food is ok, but not amazing. Servers are friendly and attentive but the service isn't out of this world. I'd return especially if you're looking for something different than a wine tasting experience. Food and drinks are a bit pricey like everything else nowadays. Seems like a fun place to go for a birthday since the servers bring out a Mexican flag and make it a whole production if you're celebrating. Good place to chill for diner on the patio or upstairs if you want a dj and lounge experience.
Weird issue when we arrived -- we had reservations at 7pm but were told at the gate that we could not drive in due to it being "over crowded." They had people pull over along the long drive way & park until they said it was okay to drive in. However, some cars were allowed to go in lol? Seemed like they picked & choosed who could go in. Anyway, after 40 minutes of waiting, I was about to pee my pants so we drove into the parking lot anyway. We get to the stairs to walk up to the restaurant & realize that they were still seating parties, didn't even bother to ask if we had a reservation or not. The reservation was a complete waste & not necessary. I can't imagine how long we would've waited in the car before given permission to park inside. Despite the weird hiccup, after getting seated, we had an amazing time. Our server was so sweet & attentive. She bussed every single plate & piece of trash. Food was amazing. Very consistent with the food we've had at their Brea location. Tomahawk steak did take extremely long -- the rest of us finished our food by the time the steak came out but it was so bomb & mouthwatering. We weren't in a rush so we thought it was worth the wait. Hoping that the "reservation" issue isn't consistent on a daily basis. Other than that, no complaints!

A whole weekend Im rosarito and not once was I able to get any ceviche. When I finally saw it on the menu I instantly ordered it. The ceviche with the salsa verde was my favorite. The one with the red sauce was good too but I preferred the green. I also liked that they included a veggie ceviche in their sampler. 10/10 would def order again. Drinks were good also and I got to try some of their Caesar salad as well and it was probably the best I've had in a while. read more

What a good time this place is. We have been to the one in San Diego a few times, and have never been disappointed. This was the same. Service is super good, quick and responsive. You can sit inside or out, both have their perks. We sat in the covered patio where you can still see the TV's and everything in the restaurant. The drinks are incredible. I had the Inferno Mule- on point. So. Damn. Good. Per usual, the flights were also delicious. The food portions are generous. We had a little bit of everything- tacos, aguachile, some rolls, shishito peppers, carne asada fries. You know everything that will leave you feeling super full. We will definitely be back again! The food is great. Steak was good . A little far out Sushi was good as well we went to leave and I let 200 pesos tip but a hundred on top of the other and waiter stopped me and was going to tell me I didn't leave enough tip then he seen second 100 and was like sorry. Shouldn't be obligated to pay tip especially with prices being pretty much the same as Cali. Also they were very helpful but it got to point were it was to much slightly annoying,mabye because not many people were overall ok experience. I can understand the overall rating of this place read more

This past Baja excursion went very well for many reasons. One of these reasons is that I was finally able to make it to King and Queen Cantina in Baja California. The owner of this place goes by Mr. Tempo, and I had the pleasure of meeting him at one of his locations in SoCal. He informed me that he had a location in Valle de Guadalupe., so it was definitely a must to come here. The drive from Tijuana to this restaurant was somewhat long, about an hour or so. There was some traffic merging from the free road onto the toll road that connects TJ, Rosarito, and Ensenada. Once on the toll road, the ride was seamless. Sometime before this highway reached Ensenada, we took an exit and headed toward the countryside. It was a half-hour drive from there, which led us to this huge place. At the entrance, we were greeted by one of their staff members. And while we didn't have reservations, he was still able to accommodate us. We drove into the property, and parked in their sizable lot. We walked up the stairs and toward their building. There are two building on the property, with the bigger one being the restaurant. The smaller one houses a souvenier shop. Toward the back are the restrooms. The place is modernly decorated and very well kept. They run this place efficiently, and the staff is very friendly and attentive. We sat down and ordered some drinks and appetizers. Remembering the awesome plate I had at their San Diego location, I recommended the carne asada plate. We ordered one each, and it did not take too long to get our food. The taquitos and the chips were delicious. It was a good start toward the main course. The carne asada plate came with a sizable cut of beef, a cheese enchilada, fried beans, veggies, and Mexican cheese. It was delicious! The food left us with a bit of a coma, but considering how much we ate that day, that was understandable. It did sit well with us, and gave us fuel for the rest of the day. Much like all their other locations (Downey, Brea, Santa Monica, and San Diego), I recommend their location in Valle de Guadalupe wholeheartedly. Come check them out, and enjoy the scenic drive down the toll road on the way here. read more

I have been going to the one in San Diego downtown. But I decided to give it a try to the one in Valle de Guadalupe and wow it was great. I was not disappointed at all. We got there around noon and got sat right away. We chose the table right next to the wine yard. They have a very similar menu to the one here in San Diego so it was very easy to choose. I chose the margarita flight and my fiancé got another drink. after my margarita flight I got the no mames martini! It was so so delicious. The staff was very friendly they were on top of literally everything everything! We had just eaten so we just went for drinks and a nice view. I'll come back soon to try some of the dishes! I like the whole Valle viñedo theme!!! It's amazing!!! If you're here in Valle you have to go and try this place! The only advice I'll give them is to incorporate more wine since is in the Valle de Guadalupe! Have more like wine options! Create a crazy sangria! Something unique that we won't get anywhere else!!! And maybe once the COVID is gone create a tour wine tasting! Make it special!!! Unique!!! I feel one of the few places who does wine tour underground is el cielo!!! Prices are decent?!! Excellent food and service! We thoroughly enjoyed our appetizers and margaritas! This place is worth visiting. We were vacationing in nearby Ensenada and made the drive on a recommendation. We loved the green shrimp enchiladas and the blue fin tuna ceviche. So very delicious and the presentation was a beauty! The carne asada nachos were very delicious, the meat had a lightly smoked mesquite flavor. The cucumber margarita was so flavorful and the right amount of tequila. The staff was so accommodating and professional. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

Food was really unique and fun bar upstairs if you feel like dancing! They don't have a dance floor but people were just dancing by their tables. Food was really unique modern twist to Mexican classics with some Mexican and Japanese fusion. We had the pork belly bites and the Japanese lemon roll. The bites were super tasty. Really simple cubes of pork belly fried with a honey sriracha and green salsa. The lemon roll was really fresh with slices of lemon on top. Would have loved to order more food if we had more people with us to share. read more

Amazing place. As soon as you drive in they ask you how many in your party. Then by the time you walk up to the restaurant your table is ready. Top notch service overall. Great ambient; custom made tables with a "platform" on the table to allow for more space on the table. Food was very good and the house margarita is amazing. read more

Over all bad experience. 1 star because the music was good. The margaritas were $25 each and watered down. We didn't taste ANY alcohol in them. The food was even worse. Save yourself the time and money. We spent $71 on two orders of lousy tacos and two margaritas. If I wanted to pay gaslamp prices I would have stayed in SD. I recommend a quieter place in the valle with affordable food and drink options. I will not be returning, disappointed on the level of service. This place is fun. It is cool and it is real Mexican. I don't know if you understand what I mean but you will when you arrive. It is too difficult to describe but you get the vibe when you are here. The staff likes to sing to Ranchera music and the cooks join in without trying too. The architecture is of cement and glass. There is abstract art on the walls. The menu is simple and simply good. I ordered a New York steak with potatoes. They brought it with corn tortillas, guacamole and refried beans. Órale! It was wonderful to eat. I ordered a local Cabernet Sauvignon /Tempranillo red wine which paired well with the meat. You will have fun here. read more

So came to see what all the hype was about! Drove all the way from LA and was not exactly impressed. I understand it just opened but there's still a lot of work to do. Let's concentrate on all the great things: Security greets you and definitely is informative and makes every effort to help. Hostesses are a bit slow but try to accommodate especially walk-ins Server- excellent, our server was fast even as busy as it was on a Sunday afternoon. Food Bone Marrow-wow excellent flavors, served generously with garnishes Drinks- oh sooooo yummy, flights of margarita are a fan favorite. Ordered Bone Marrow nachos but they ran out Stuffed oysters- were just ok, not really flavorful at all and looked nothing like the IG pictures Octopus was probably my favorite thing. Had so much flavor Ambiance So if you've ever been to South Gate in LA it's equivalent, I would say South Gate came to the Valle so you be the judge of that type of crowd. CONS: For starters the restrooms, please fix your toilet seats 2 out of the 3 women's restroom had broken toilet seats, no toilet seat covers, and trash cans were filled to the rim Entrance: the entrance is shared by a winery right next door. It would be nice to have the hostess desk located right outside so you know exactly we're to go. Patio: definitely needs some more love and attention, it would be an excellent place to put some couches for those waiting for a table and even have a waitress for drink orders. Bar: the location of the bar is not exactly convenient all the way in the corner hidden. The patrons at the bar definitely interrupt with those trying to have dinner. They crowd around the bar and are literally stand right next to you as you dine. Overall, it was just ok. I would say a one and done type of situation. But definitely hope they are successful in the months to come with continuous improvement. read more

A unique and fun experience to El Valle de Guadalupe! This place has the vibe, food and cocktails you would expect at a cantina... with the architectural touch you would expect to see in the Valle. We had the best customer experience that started in the parking lot and didn't stop until we left the place! The tuna tostada was so amazing I forgot to take a picture of it ! Busy just enjoying it . We also had the pleasure of meeting Mr Tempo, Jorge Cuevas, the proud owner of King and Queen, and rightfully so ! Definitely a nice twist to the Valle and a must visit again and again! read more

I have been to Mr Tempo's restaurants in downey and brea but this place is beyond amazing!! It was hard to get a reservation made since they don't answer the phone but thankfully the concierge at Coral and Marina came thru and was able to get us in. I loved the fact that you cannot enter the premises unless you have a reservation, i think it keeps it organized and gives it exclusivity. Upon entering we received service that was above and beyond. Our server made great recommendations that did not disappoint. The food had a very unique taste and it was a different menu than any of his other restaurants. We were lucky enough to actually meet the chef, Jorge Cuevas, he was very attentive and a cool guy all around. Overall the food/drinks and service exceeded my expectations and it is worth the trip. read more

sangria is delicioussss birria tacos&&fries ON POINT!!! beautiful space. just didnt like how the young man waiting our table was alwaysssss right next to us... trying to eat and he was behind our chair :/ attentive but maybe too much. staff was very nice !! i actually had a medical emergency there and they helped me immediately!! the heat&low blood pressure. they gave me salt and a paramedic was on site !! thank you kindly. we will be back. amazing venue. read more

Our group was very excited to come here for our dinner reservation after a day of wine tasting. As we entered, the atmosphere was very lively and we got seated quickly. Service was good and food and drink presentation was definitely there but some of the food items came out quicker than others. Our concern with this was that some dishes were not hot and instead room temperature such as the VIP tacos, tuna tacos, and surf and turf burrito. The majority of the food was decent but there were some items that the majority of the group did not eat. Unfortunately some of our group members felt ill and were unsure if this was caused by the food. read more

We came on a Sunday, around 5pm the drinks were good the food was delicious the service was fast, everyone was on point getting our food and drinks, it was a little too packed and not so much social distancing during Covid, but we manage to have a great time, as we were leaving tho our waiter said we did not tip her enough, so she had asked my dad to give her more money because it did not match watch she gets paid , I thought that was rude. I have never seen a waiter count her tip money in front of us , & be unappreciated for what we gave her . She tried to give us a whole speech that they don't pay her enough so we should tip her more to make her pay even , I couldn't believe what I heard , so I just ended up giving her money tip money cause my dad was already drunk , we tipped her 100$ That was the only thing that through us off. read more

I came because this restaurant was recommended by a friend when I was on vacation. The customer service was so good that I over tipped. I was in Mexico and could not read the menu so I went with the recommendation of the bone marrow taco and OMG it was so good! I found out they have a location in Santa Monica and will be opening a place in Hollywood and they have the exact same menu. I'm so excited and I will definitely attend the California locations in the near future. read more

pretty good setting, very cute good service broad menu lots of drinks but they're not very strong and not very large prices are approaching $$$ Gringo Tourist levels Food is alright, not "OMG" I would take tourists visiting us here but living here part time I wouldn't be coming back there as a local due to higher prices and reasonably good food but not great value and not amazing taste. read more
