Can't really atest to the atmosphere as I used the drive thru. Gotta be one of the better burgers I've ever ordered at a drive thru though! I was just going to order the Mushroom and Swiss Burger but it came with an order of fries and a drink for the same price. The burger was excellent, served up on what I believe was a pretzel bun with tons of mushrooms and melted Swiss Cheese. The fries were excellent, skin on and freshly made...very good! Hamburger /tenderloin wraps etc. Great service. Counter girl friendly and helpful. Amazingly decorated. A real asset to the Cedar Valley. You usually only find uniquely decorated places in West Des Moines. Hawaiian burger and tenderloin. Both great. Bar looked very nice. Another room with pool table. The first time I ate there, I got the tenderloin and it was the best tenderloin I've ever had in my entire life. So I went back again, and it was the worst tenderloin I have ever had in my life. I thought it was a fluke so I went back again a third time and the tenderloin was edible. The breading had a weird flavor to it. It was not the hot and spicy one. It was to be the regular one. I ordered the brisket wrap, it was to die for, 10/10!!! Beer was BOGO, so that was a nice surprise as well! Took quite a while to get silverware and ketchup; which we ended up have to remind a couple of times. But that's okay, we understand things happen. Fabulous food! read more

This experience was a swing and a miss. The cashier couldn't be any less welcoming when we walked in. Gave attitude to us and only could muster single word sentences. That is a huge turn off when you pay good money and get horrible service. Environment was pretty decent - has same feel as owner's previous place, but tone was set at order counter when we walked in. Hard to overcome that initial experience. Food was ok. Tenderloin was hot and crispy, not soggy so that was good. Could definitely tell the unique flavor they add to make it theirs. The tenderloin was WAY bigger than one person should eat but I get it, that's what draws people. Fries were cold and a bit soggy. Cornbread was good, very similar to what was at the owner's previous BBQ place. The place has potential, but gotta fix the initial welcome people get. read more

Had high expectations but just didn't make it. Sorry, Jeff, but the MOJO ain't there like your first couple of efforts. Food is okay. Nothing special. Got the ribeye sandwich...under cooked piece of beef (yes, I asked for medium well) on a cold bun. That was it. Probably needs something else to jazz it up. Definitely not a reorder for me. Got onion rings. Whatever. Just the regular frozens you can buy at Martin Brothers. Kind of squishy. Fast food level. Nah! Wife got the tenderloin. Pretty bland. Definitely not memorable. Better check out some of the other local spots to see how they're doing it. Toasted bun maybe? Crisp up the edges? Just not an award winner. Coleslaw was good. Cornbread has dropped back a bit in taste and smaller size. I remember the originals from the first Starbecks. These aren't them. Live music is okay, but I'd avoid those nights if you're thinking you want to converse a little. Super noisy. The young lady was pretty good but her high notes made my ears bleed. Tone down your mike. I think I heard glass breaking. And giving your life story is cool, but this isn't Nashville. And what's with the people bussing tables? One bushy guy looked like he'd just walked over from his van down by the river and the older lady in the super tight dress (is that spandex?) should comb her hair, pick out something that doesn't accent every one of her crevices and wear some shoes that make it a bit easier to move on that slippery floor. A couple of the younger ladies speeding around putting out fires (I'm guessing here) need to up their t-shirt size and dump the floppy gym shorts that cover...well, nothing. Disappointed with this first visit. I know, I know. They're just getting started...blah, blah, blah. You've done this long enough to get it right even early on. The food was OK, but I'm quite disappointed in the service during my visit. felt nonexistent and I'm surprised to be charged for extra sauce as well. Management has expressed the commitment to make things right and indicated they would do so they didn't follow through with that promise . read more

We checked out this new place with high hopes. We ere sadly disappointed. As we entered we saw a long line ( New place, so not surprised), discovered we had to stand in line to order. The menu board was not even turned on. Th gal at the counter kept saying Huh? The decor was overwhelming. Way too bus! Too many random signs. After you order over priced food. you get a pager and then go up and get your food. The ketchup dispenser was empty and took forever to refill. There were no forks available. No salt on the tables, only ONE "community" salt shaker, For what appears to be a higher end restaurant (not fast food), you had to pick up your food and bus your own table. The table was nit cleaned ogg (crumbs everywhere), dirty dishes were piled in a bin on top of the trash can. In my opinion WAY an over priced. $37 for 2 sandwhich was, small sides and 2 drinks. The food tasted frozen, nothing was fresh. Sandwiches were under sized, the sides were small (6 onion rings). We will not be returning here! read more
