La Plaza Bakery & Café is an absolute must-stop every time we're in Greenfield visiting family. If…read moreyou're looking for authentic Mexican food and incredible fresh-baked pastries, I honestly don't think you'll find anything better in town. The bakery is attached to the café, and you can actually watch the bakers at work through the large windows facing the street. Everything is unbelievably fresh--from sticky buns and chocolate muffins to cream cheese and raspberry-filled croissants. It's almost impossible to leave with just one treat! The made-to-order burritos and plates are outstanding. The flavors are authentic, the portions are generous, and you can tell everything is made with care. The ladies at the counter are always warm, welcoming, and bilingual, so even if you don't speak Spanish, ordering is easy and comfortable. They make everyone feel right at home. Because it's so popular with the locals, there can be a line during busy times--but don't let that discourage you. The service moves quickly, and it's well worth the wait. There is plenty of seating both inside and on the outdoor patio, making it a great place to relax and enjoy your meal. The self-serve coffee is fresh and high quality, with fresh milk and all the fixings available. Whether you're stopping in for breakfast, lunch, or just a pastry and coffee, La Plaza Bakery & Café is one of those places you'll find yourself coming back to again and again. It has become a tradition for our family, and we look forward to every visit.

The whole area of Ragged Point is such a must-see! It's like it's own little town, complete with a gift shop, general store, and restaurant. The whole area overlooks the ocean, and there are plenty of places to sit and enjoy the outdoors. The thing I loved most about the coffee shop was its vast flavor menu. There were an endless amount of combinations, as well as their own craft selections. I got the iced Caramel Toffeenut, and it was delicious! It was a bit on the sweeter side, so be aware of that when you order. It was super busy in there since it was around lunch time and I believe it is a hot spot, but I was able to get my coffee surprisingly quick! Overall such a great experience, I recommend stopping by if you're driving through!

Many weddings take place here, so you might get lucky to catch one and the decorations. It is also a motel. There is a restaurant, but is open lunch and dinner. If you are early in the day, as we were, the coffee shop is just fine, along with the rest rooms and, if you need it, gas. Coffees are made to order and there is a great menu of coffee suggestions. Wife and I used to live in the Monterey Bay area, so Hwy 1 is old stomping grounds. Best to make the scenic drive during the weekdays, avoiding prime holiday and weekends. Tourist traffic is heavy and the drivers are distracted with the views. Be careful.
