king city is a very small town, there must be 15 Mexican restaurants on the same street, even next door to one another, I tried a couple, and they were good,better than good,but I first found la Plaza Bakery in Greenfield, so good not even funny, when I learned there was one in king city, immediately I went there for dinner and every night after, service with a smile absolutely clean,I'm disappointed i didn't know they existed in salinas when I was in that town, I know where I'll be eating when I work in that area again without a doubt, so for some excellent Mexican food, I highly recommend you go there. read more

The chicken tacos were cut a bit weirdly? but still tasted good. Someone else in my family finished the enchiladas completely so I'm assuming it was pretty good as well. My burrito was OK. This is a really nice and new bakery. I found it on Yelp and had to check it out. They have a parking lot and street parking. Pandulces have to be bagged by an employee. There is hot coffee and you can order hot food too! I ordered a delicious champurrado, bean burrito and purchased a couple cookies and 2 donuts. Prices are kind of the going rate, might be high for the area? But it's because this place is new an serves quality items. I need to try more of their items in order to bump it up to a five star. Came here twice on our coastal visit to CA. As a gringo I found this place to be quite charming and the staff welcoming, even helping me practice my Spanish. The food is good depending on what you order. My comments are based on design and look. Clearly they spent money on an industrial architectural design. However the signage does not complement the building. It is also extremely bare it's as if they built the building and completely forgot or didn't care about making it a welcoming space. The industrial minimalistic feel is to bare with not a single plant in sight or custom art to tie the place together. It's like a bare industrial space with no character or life. I brought up plants because I figured it might help with the wood stain finish the space has when the fans are not on. So overall food is decent service is good. The east wall has all the classic pan dulce, while the counter along the south side of the eating area has a large selection of hot foods, as well as made to order tortas, tacos, burritos, etc, along with classic hot beverages such as champurrado. We got some of the chocolate cake, which was moist and chocolate flavored. We were heading on to the Pinnacles, so we got two tortas: one with ham and the other with carnitas. This is made with a fresh baked bollilo roll, and the usual toppings are onions, lettuce, avocado, tomato, pieces of Mexican cheese, likely queso fresco which is bland like mozarrella, and sliced jalapeños. The difference in these tortas from Tacos La Potranco de Jalisco, which must be eaten immediately, is that the La Plaza tortas are more like sandwiches, so are very portable for a trip to the Pinnacles. read more

I was searching online for a place to eat while we stopped in King City, this place had good reviews so we stopped by, found it pretty easy at the end of Broadway. The customer service was excellent, greeted immediately and took our orders right away. The food was great, I had a breakfast burrito and my husband had a chili colorado burrito, we both enjoyed our burritos. The only discouraging thing that happened was that we decided to buy some mexican bread to bring with us, unfortunately upon choosing one to eat I found one of them had the beginnings of spoiling, so that was disappointing but luckily the others were fine and delicious.
