Kong donuts is local Louisville patty shop that offers very delicious and fresh tasting donuts. They have had several locations pop up around the Louisville area the last few years so it shows they are doing something Correctly. Thai particular location on new cut road I tried for the first time this past Saturday morning. Like my last experiences at other locations they offer a good variety of choices and solid pricing. My personal favorite is the chocolate covered. Very good chocolate favorite and like all there donuts they have a soft and tasty bread. Overall solid location and very tasty. This is a new doughnut shop for this area. The owner was very friendly and accommodating. Not only are the prices reasonable. The size of the doughnuts are amazing. King Donuts has been SUCH a welcome addition to the area--an area that has been without a donut spot (or even bakeries, honestly!) for some time!! It is located in a strip mall with plenty of parking. Their donuts are clouds you eat. So soft. So airy. So delicious. I've been in here a couple times (and there will be many more to come). There has been a line both times, but it moves pretty quickly. You never really know what donuts they'll have, so don't have your heart set on anything, but be prepared to love whatever you get. They do continuously bring more donuts out every morning, but eventually, they may sell out for the day. I recommend going early or checking their Facebook, as they post updates frequently on there. Nice clean little donut shop. Very quiet, little place one counter 10' of donuts, drink cooler & coffee. Service is fast and efficient. Got two blueberry donuts $2.31. Donuts are soft and tasty appear to be freshly glazed. Not sure about the origin of the donuts? Taste like premade frozen, touched up at the end with glaze. Not bad for a quick donut stop. read more

Warning! These donuts are dangerously fluffy and airy that you can consume ten of them before realizing the consequences of overindulgence....so get them at your own risk! I have to say, they're my favorite kind of donuts, fresh and light and not overly sweet with glazes. For $8.50 a dozen of assorted (standard) donuts, I thought it was a pretty good price. They do have a good variety of donuts in the morning, not so much in the afternoon. The excitement of a donut shoppe FINALLY coming to the South End is real. Their donuts are really very good IF you get there before 11 am. They don't seem to refill the stock so when it is gone...it is gone. So essentially if someone is in line in front of you and buys several dozen, your anxiety kicks in wondering if there will be that one donut you were craving, which totally crushed your willpower, left for you to regret later. A co-worker of mine is well aware of my love for donuts, so she bought this new local donut shop to my attention. I'm always excited to support local businesses, especially those in the Southend. Upon entry the space is sparsely decorated, but I don't think it's billed as a eat in bakery so that's fine by me. The lady at the front counter was super nice and friendly which was a nice surprise at 6am in the morning. They had a decent selection of donuts. I ordered 6 and here's the rundown: -Blueberry Cake Donut: One of the best I've had in a long time -Cream Filled Long John: Bf wasn't impressed -Apple Fritter: Big, gooey, and super delicious -Glazed Donut: Meh, neither here nor there -Chocolate Donut: Wasn't a fan of the chocolate Cinnamon Roll Donut: Didn't have any cinnamon flavor 6 donuts and an OJ cost me a little over $7 so typical of what you would expect from a donut shop. Although I didn't love every donut, I definitely enjoyed the Blueberry Cake Donut and Apple Fritter enough to come back. read more

Oh my goodness, a fresh, local donut place on New Cut? Yes, please! My husband picked up an assorted dozen from King Donuts yesterday and I am so glad he did. I sampled a couple of the different flavors (i.e. annoyed my husband by taking bites of his) but my favorite was the apple fritter. It's totally different than any apple fritters that I've had before in that the apple mixture is kind of sandwiched between the donut part, if that makes any sense!
