Dozen donuts. The bourbon glaze on the bacon donut was the favorite!

I received delivery of a dozen donuts as a birthday gift. Very interesting flavor combinations that my kids enjoyed as well, although my favorite was definitely the maple bourbon glazed bacon donuts! I look forward to trying their donut sandwiches!

New fall and Halloween-inspired donuts. Tried a few and enjoyed them. The staple cinnamon buns and old fashioned are still a family fave. They're always smiling and chipper in the morning, so always a pleasant stop on a leisurely weekend.

Best doughnuts in Louisville! Love the variety and their cinnamon rolls are a must too! Melt in your mouth!

Amazing donuts. Was the highlight of my most recent trip. The donuts were super tasty and tasted very very fresh. I want to go back so bad.

This place is absolutely amazing. We always wanted to go to Hi-Five Donuts while we lived in Louisville, but never came down until we moved to TN. Anyways. This place is absolutely amazing the donuts were great. The customer service was great. I loved every donut I bought. We will be back!

Massive Donuts with great flavor! Visited this place before they began their move & absolutely loved the funky variety of donuts! The service was great & gave great recommendations. The donuts themselves were massive, I got 5 for my husband and myself and we ate on them for a few days. I also once got a dozen for a work event and they were a hit among the sweets lovers. I love that their women owned too, can't wait to visit the new location when it opens up!

Finally got a chance to visit the new location and though the donuts are still good, the batter must be different. I got the maple bacon and the icing/topping was fine, but the bread doesn't have the same chew and texture. I was slightly disappointed but I'll give them another try.

Hi-Five Doughnuts is a Butchertown/NULU neighborhood of Louisville donut shop that is pretty highly regarded in the city of Lousiville. After having Hi-Five on my to do list for a long time I finally made the trip here the other day on a late morning around 11am on a spring Thursday with my wife and two youngest daughters. You walk into the brightly colored yellow building and the interior is very vibrant and has fun decor. They have a few donuts out in a glass for selections and a decent sized menu. My 2 year old daughter got in the Easter spirit which was a few days away and got an Easter designed donut. She kept pointing at the Pastel colored designed heart and a coconut donut that had a peep on it. We told her she wouldn't like coconuts and the lovely worker must have been paying close attention because when she brought out her heart shaped Easter donut she put a peep on it which made for a happy 2 year old girl. So very nice and sweet of the worker to do that without us even asking her too. They have a combo where you can pick a glazed donut which a few glazed options and double it up with a group of glazed toppings to choose from. I got two donuts from This combo. I went with a chocolate glazed and topped it with chocolate chips and I got a cinnamon glazed and topped it with Cinnamon Toast Crunch. My wife went with the unique KY Fried Buttermilk Chicken Sandwich which is a chicken Sandwich that uses glazed donuts for the buns. We both also got some hot chocolates. Everything we go here was great. The donuts are rather large, super fluffy packed with flavor. The toppings were fresh, creamy and delicious. My wife said her chicken sandwich was great. She was cautious when ordering it but she said the flavor was great and the unique combo somehow worked. Our hot chocolates were stuffed filled with marshmallows, sprinkles and cinnamon flavors. I personally thought it was the best hot chocolate I've ever had. My wife said the cinnamon flavor was too much for her which hindered her rating of the hot drink. In another great moment of customer service the worker Overheard my wife and I trying to think of places to sit down and enjoy our yummy donuts in the warm weather that day as there is no interior seating at Hi-Five. Just a counter to order the donuts and some standing space inside. The worker informed us that if we walk behind there facility they have a nice shared patio with the bar next door. So we made the trip outside and enjoyed our snacks in the good weather. Overall I can see what the hype was about. Very good donuts, cool options, solid pricing, great service and cute little setup for hi-five donuts. Absolutely will be back to revisit this place.

These ladies are amazing. They were so friendly, patient and informative. Plus, they make amazing donuts! I mean, is there really more to say? Yes, there is... Pricing is reasonable for their creative creations & these bad boys are big. I opted for the (justifiably) raved about chicken sandwich (top of the menu), as did the hubs - with added bacon, egg & cheese. He couldn't pass up the cinnamon streusel donuts, so, he grabbed that too. After his sandwich, he talked about how full he was WHILE eating his donut. Dare I say it's hard not to overindulge. I loved having something savory to cut through the sweetness, as I'm not big on sweets. Of course, we'll be back. We even loved the decor!

Excellent donuts with some unique creations. The dough is perfectly moist, no dry donuts here. I love how you can create your own donut or create a donut sandwich. I had an old fashioned cake donut and a chocolate long John(or chocolate bar if you're from the west coast), the chocolate frosting has a very nice flavor.

Such a cool place. Very quaint, cozy. It's not really a place for you to sit inside. They have a couple of seating spots outside though. Not too much. The lady at the counter was very nice. She helped me pick the right pairings for toppings for my donut and told me about each special donut in the case. I posted a pic of the menu so you can see all the different options. It wasn't expensive at all. I got 2 nice size donuts for $6. I think that's a pretty decent price. One of my donuts was a create your own one. I had bourbon caramel and bacon added to it. It was so good and a pretty large donut. Actually all the donuts there were large. Well worth the money. So many different options to pick from. My son got the basic twist with cinnamon on it. He said his was good too. They also sold food. I saw some breakfast sandwiches and they put them in boxes like box lunches. I'll definitely be going back when I'm in the area. It was so nice. A great spot for locals and visitors to try.

I have had this place on my radar for the longest time. I finally made it on a Saturday morning on the weekend of Bourbon and Beyond. There is street parking and I actually had no trouble getting. I go in and and I'm the only customer in there (it was about a half hour before closing time) . There wasn't a very big selection of donuts left and I got the last I want to say Salted Chocolate that was left and a small organic milk to go. The ladies behind the counter were very friendly and I would definitely come back here, I would tell anyone maybe come when they open because the selection maybe better. I did enjoy my sweet treat though.

    Great place.... try it

This place was awesome! Stopped with a friend while driving through town. Small, cute and slightly girly inside. Lots of pink and so cute! There are several selections of doughnuts as well as " building" one for your liking. We each chose a doughnut with a frosted flavor... peanut butter, chocolate... etc, then added toppings. I chose the bacon crumbles. The king of the show was the chicken doughnut sandwich!!!! JUST SAY YES AND GET ONE!!!! One of the best and fun sandwich I've ever had! Probably good that I don't live in the area or these sandwiches might frequent my diet more than would be healthy for me lol!! Great customer service and they give lots of help in choosing your perfect doughnut!

You order at the window, take a buzzer, get your drinks and find somewhere to sit. We (a party of 4) showed up around 11 on a Sunday morning and the line was already out the door. We had a hard time deciding what to order because everything we saw coming out before us looked just as delicious as the last. After the owner greeted us and gave a run down while in line, we settled on the shrimp and grits, steak and eggs, bread pudding french toast with a side of bacon, and a chicken and bacon croissant sandwich. (I wanted to order the biscuits and gravy weekend feature but they were already sold out.) The girl at the register was polite but very soft spoken so we had trouble hearing what she said. The coffee was the perfect temperature for drinking immediately without scalding yourself, and the different flavorings and types of milk/cream to choose from was a major plus! There were no complaints about any of our food except the steak was a bit under seasoned. I had the french toast, and, in my opinion, is enough for 2 people. There was a bit too much whipped buttercream for me but I was able to rake off majority, and the fruit that came on top was so fresh! The bacon was thick sliced and 3 of my 4 pieces were cooked perfectly to my liking - not too crispy, not too soft! We all were part of the clean plate club after eating because the food was that good! I wished now we would have taken pics of our food before eating! My top-tier chum who literally went to the school of hospitality and I came here two Fridays ago ahead of a bourbon tour (thinking, correctly, that we should probably have a hearty meal beforehand so we didn't end up face-first in a gutter somewhere). Several Kentucky natives told us that we had to try a Hot Brown during our visit, and since it was literally created at the Brown Hotel, this seemed like the logical spot. The actual Hotel has some gorgeous interiors, especially upstairs in the lobby. We didn't see that area until after our meal, so when we laid eyes on the Lobby Bar & Grill, we knew immediately that that was where we SHOULD have gone for this Hot Brown dish. J. Graham's, I'm sorry to say, doesn't have the history and personality of the rest of the building and just looks like a generic breakfast spot you'd find in any hotel. It probably exists solely because the other dining options in the hotel aren't open until later and they want to give tourists and their own customers a place to eat at all times of the day, which isn't a terrible reason in my book. But it's also unfortunately not very good, and the dirty walls and overall meh appearance of the establishment just make it very clear that the hey day for this hotel overall was decades ago. The service was the biggest miss here. Our waitress was scatterbrained, often not around or around but hanging out with co-workers or talking up other customers. It was honestly pretty mystifying because when she DID come by, she was often overly apologetic and trying to make amends. But the best way to make amends is not to have to keep doing that throughout the meal. She forgot my friend's coffee (didn't write anything down when we ordered, which is fine if you remember everything but...) and when my chum asked what was in the hummus (one of just three apps), she didn't know and had to go ask someone in the kitchen. That's arguably a nitpick and she DID try to figure it out, but the lunch menu is pretty small and it was a little odd that her menu knowledge was that limited. The bigger problem was that we were in there for over half an hour longer than we wanted to be because she wouldn't come by our table. I actually actively looked for her on the way to the bathroom so I could remind her to come to our table, but instead found her off to the side gossiping with other staff. Not a good look at all. So this might have been an overall positive experience if some of the hospitality from the hotel had spilled over here. We actually both enjoyed the apps, which were the only real positives of the experience. The Bourbon Barrel Fries and the Two Timer, featuring Smoked Bourbon Hummus (bourbon tends to be the theme of your days in this town, I've found) were both really good, and I probably ate more of those than the actual entree. The fries were cooked perfectly and were well seasoned/addictive. The Hot Brown was fine for what it was (we split it to try). It's basically a dramatic turkey melt, with slices of turkey coated in cheese and other sauces. It also came with strips of bacon on top, which on a personal palate level I didn't think really helped the dish so I barely nibbled on those. It's definitely a solid entry but it wasn't mind-blowing for either of us. Maybe it's just from where we come from in the Northeast, but I'm conditioned to like my turkey with accompanying stuffing, and usually in the latter part of November. I think it felt kind of weird to be eating turkey with warm cheese. But I'm glad we tried it and got the context at least. You might have a completely different experience with better service, but I'd still recommend going upstairs for any dining. It's a much better atmosphere and you can really appreciate where this hotel fits in the chronology of Louisville. You're not going to get that from going here.

The place is positioned as this incredible Mexican breakfast destination, so I figured it had to be something special. Turns out it's just standard Mexican food and drinks. Even if they were using using "the freshest most highest quality ingredients", it doesn't show in the final product at all. Heres what i got: The Espresso Martini ($14) was actually decent--nice and foamy with a solid chocolate note. The Carajillo ($8), on the other hand, was weak. It tasted like plain iced coffee with zero detectable alcohol. I wouldn't order it again. The Wake Up Burrito $14: their biggest hype item. I got it and added chorizo for $3.50, bringing the total to nearly $17.50. It's sausage, cheese, eggs, and beans wrapped up--pretty good, but nothing groundbreaking. Without their green sauce it's completely average, no different from any regular breakfast burrito at a diner. The green sauce itself is what really the only saving grace, but they serve it in tiny thimble-size portions like they're guarding some secret recipe. So for $18 you get a medium-size burrito plus a couple of fried tortillas with cheese on the side. Compare that to mexican spot like Bandito, where the burritos are twice the size and cost much less. This one is seriously overrated. The Chilaquiles - I got the side order of these with the burrito, and were average at best. Just fried tortillas with cheese and a little sauce that had a slightly sour edge. Not bad, but nothing I'd call amazing. I thought to myself, if these had egg and beans(what the main dish has) , would I have been glad to pay $17? The answer is no. Ive had better at the airport. Bottom line: Foko is incredibly overrated. It feels like a tourist trap built for people for those Luisville people who who don't eat much Mexican food and think this is the pinnacle. I get it, the decor is nice and gives that "premium" feel but the prices are way too high for what you actually get. I won't be back.
