Omg...I came to post a review and wish I had read them first! DO NOT GO TO THEM. I had a pair of pants hemmed and wore them once and noticed one leg was not hemmed. The woman cleaned to recharge me to hem it!! You could see it was not wear and tear but never hemmed to begin with and she would not budge. She pretty much claimed I was lying . I told her that ten dollars was not a lot but it was the principal and would take it to someone who actually was an expert and valued their customers. She made me feel horrible! read more

Dont waste your $$$ Bad $60 to clean a comforter and it smelled when I got it back - smelled same as when I brought it in. I called and they onlycredited me $5. Five. I washed it myself in washing machine and it smelled better. read more

I was new to the area when I first started going here but now that I've gotten into the habit of going here it has been extremely hard to break. The place does a pretty good job of dry cleaning and I haven't had the horror stories of dry cleaning with lost garments or anything like that so I have to be grateful. The price is a little on the high side for things that actually get dry cleaned, such as my slacks and suits, but it is not high enough to where I'll change. The people are very nice and extremely flexible with the dates, if you tell them you need something done before the original date they tell you it will be done they will definitely try to accomadate you if they can. read more

My go to cleaners for a while - just now getting around to reviewing. Love that they are eco friendly and have a quick turnaround. My stuff is always well taken care of and im consistently surprised with their stain removing magical powers! Super convenient and easy to drop off and pick up before and after work. For the past few months, I've put up with the slightly high prices and slow-moving weekend lines because the owners were always smiling and sweet, and my clothes came out looking good...until today, when they gave me back one of my favorite shirts damaged almost to the point of unwearability. Its two delicate (probably fake) mother-of-pearl buttons came back with scratches and big chunks broken off. The damage was glaring enough that I noticed it in-store and meeped "oh...uh...can you compensate me for that in some way?", to which the owner responded by shaving just $1.90 off my bill. I should have driven a harder bargain and didn't, but the more I think about it, the more ungenerous his response seems. I won't be going back. *Update: two stars docked to one because instead of docking my charge from $13.90 to $11, they apparently just charged me twice: $13.90 AND $11. Hello, credit card dispute line. :( read more

I've always had a great experience here. Frankly, the negative reviews couldn't be farther from my experience. I get mostly suits and shirts done and everything is always as it should be. 5 stars because I am partial to the owners. Seems they've been there forever and recently, despite everything going well, they volunteered to make the move to a more environmentally friendly cleaning process which could not have been cheap to do.  They're good, hard working people choosing to do the right thing and I'm glad to support them with my business. read more

Let me start of by saying: "I normally do not write reviews..." I had such a good a good experience with King Cleaners recently; I thought I'd share with the Yelp* Family. I have a few dress shirts--which for me were not cheap--but have a few stains from normal wear. I took the shirts to my regular dry cleaner (Zips), and pointed out the stains I needed removed from the shirts. One would think Zips NEVER had a customer ask if a stain could be removed! After two attempts with Zips--stains still there, but a nice little note stating the stains could not be removed--I decided to take the shirts elsewhere. I took the shirts to King Cleaners in Alexandria, and once again pointed out the stains and asked if they could be removed. I was promised they would do their best to remove the stains. Upon picking up my shirts, along with other items I dropped off, I was pleasantly surprised that the stains from my most expensive dress shirts were gone, and quite frankly that my other garments appeared to be better cared for than what I was used to getting at the larger chain drycleaner. Needless to say, I now have a new dry cleaner with whom I feel pays better individual attention to my garments that the big box drycleaners! Remember, you get what you pay for! King cleaners provided an excellent product for a fair and reasonable price. read more

A community staple! You get everything you'd expect out of a dry cleaners here. This place is family-owned and is consistent with their services. They dry clean the stuff you'd expect like pants, skirts, dresses, tops/blouses, gowns, suits, sweaters, jackets, etc., but they do comforter cleaning and will launder bigger items for you. Dry cleaning... you get what you pay for. If you have clothes that you'd like to keep for more than a season, it's worth it to go get them cleaned at a place that's trustworthy. I have had so many of my nice clothes ruined by A.) trying to wash them myself even though the label told me to get it dry cleaned or B.) going to a subpar cleaners that messed them up permanently. Overall, a great place! I've learned the hard way that dry cleaning is worth it at the price you pay. Solid joint here. read more

I agree with Allen about the price of the slacks and suits being expensive to dry clean, however, the laundered shirts are for a good cost. The owner and employees are extremely friendly and helpful. Not sure where the negative reviews are coming from. As a road warrior I love having one place I can trust to drop anything off - whether it be a suit or a sweater. I was sold when a friend of mine recommended this cleaners to get a stain out of my tie that another place tried to get out but failed epicly... twice - dropped the tie off on a Monday and swung by on Friday when I flew back in. Boom it was like a new tie. read more

I feel they must have improved since a lot of the other reviews. I come here every month or two, when I need to. Yes, they are expensive, as you should expect for a dry cleaners that has to pay for a king street location. But they are always very nice and helpful, they remember my name whenever I go in (even on my second visit), it's always been quick service for me, and they often don't charge me for additional work (resewing pockets and buttons etc). I dropped off a wool jacket to get tiny holes repaired. When I picked it up, the corrections were awful! The thread used did not match, the stitch job was not complete and threads were sticking out. When I asked them to redo it, they were not pleased and tried to argue with me. It took them a month to get my jacket back to me. The man that works there is very rude. read more

I would't even give them one star. I have been taking my stuff here for about 8 months. The customer service is always terrible and parking is the worst. I just went because of the convenience. Last week I was wearing a brand new shirt for the first time and got 2 spots of ice cream on it. I took it into Kings cleaners the same day so the spots would not set. The lady marked the 2 spots and said they could get them out. When I went to pick it up there were even MORE spots on it then when I dropped it off. The guy (who I assume is the owner and the one who is NEVER friendly) started yelling at me telling me I dropped it off with stuff all over it. Since I am VERY particular about my clothing and it was the first time wearing a brand new shirt I knew where the 2 spots where exactly. He still made me pay $4.95 for ruining a brand new shirt. I will NEVER return and I advise everyone to go to a different cleaners!!!! read more

This cleaner does not deserve any stars. They had a new dress for 3 full business days with the promise to have some alterations completed within 4 days as I was leaving for vacation and had an event to wear this dress to over the upcoming weekend. Though I had dropped the dress and new material off before 9 a.m. on a Monday, they waited unti close of business on Wednesday and said (verbatim), "Dress not ready. Two more week (not weeks)." When I arrived to collect the dress and fabric, to my disappointment, they had torn the new fabric. When I pointed it out to them, the woman stared blankly at me, and simply replied, "Sorry." This is completely unacceptable. I filed a formal complaint on Better Business Bureau as they had guaranteed the completion of work by Thursday and why they waited 3 full business days to disclose that they would not be able to complete the alterations is beyond me but suffice to say, had they contacted me the same day I dropped it off, then I would have located another dry cleaner that could have completed the alteration. Now I am out of a dress and have 1 day to search for a new one. Would not recommend them to anyone. read more
