King Garden is highly recommended for local chinese food in N. Wilmington. The kitchen and owners are very clean. The owner also listens and does her best accommodate for food allergies. Their vegetables and meats (especially the shrimp, chicken & pork) are always fresh. Only one time did we get some broccoli that was subpar, and when we brought it back to show them they quickly apologized and gladly provided a credit for our next takeout. I didn't need a special receipt or anything, the owner wife remembered us the next time we came in. Tina knows her regular customers! Parking is the only negative aspect to this great restaurant. Navigating in and out of that parking area with a Wawa on one side and a very popular Italian restaurant on the other side is often a challenge especially at peak hours or on weekends. King Garden has two designated spaces allotted to their restaurant and most times you can find one available. If you can, back in to make exiting much easier & safer. read more

Ordered Chicken Lomein with Chicken, No Mushrooms, Spicy, 1 Lg, 1 Small. Called in they were pleasant when taking my order via phone. Once I received the order, the small was very dry no flavor, no spice, the large super salty and no spice. I called to inform them of the mistake and was told I was being transferred to the Manager, I explained calmly and professionally that I had never had an issue prior to and she then asked, well can't you just keep the food. I stated, I would prefer to receive what I paid for. She instructed me to bring it back in and they would remake it. Shortly after the rudest, most unprofessional women called screaming at me stating, "No one complains about our Lomein", repeatedly. I asked what the problem was and that this is the first time I have ever had and issue and that sometimes mistakes happen. She continued to scream. I explained that I have already spoken with the Manager and I didn't understand. I asked to speak to the Manager or Owner, she explaimed that it was her, but I definitely did not speak with her previosly. Customers make your business, I have never been spoken to of treated so shamelessly. When I asked for a refund she stated, no I'm not doing that. After disrepectfully speaking to me, I said, I really needed her to refund me as now how could I even trust her to prepare a meal for me. If she is truly the owner, shame on her. I ordered an egg roll early afternoon yesterday. Unbeknownst to me, I had left my wallet. That evening, the owner drove all the way to my home to give me back my wallet. Nothing was missing! I'm giving 4 stars for my own category called "inexpensive/cheap Chinese food delivered." King Garden fits the bill & was a very pleasant surprise after various shots-in-the-dark of grease laden, uninspired dreck that passes for Chinese take-out lately. The beef with broccoli was tender and fresh, the beef cooked to an appetizing medium, the broccoli al dente but not too crisp, and the brown gravy/sauce was actually tasty; they made an effort here and it was noticed. The shrimp egg foo young was quite good, again less grease/oil than I expected, and it passed the leftover, day 2 test with flying colors. Clearly the ingredients are fresh if the leftovers still hold up the next day. The crab Rangoon was tasty, but needed more crab. By the way, make sure you specify size on the Rangoon, we ended up with a large and it must have been 20 pieces or more! The delivery was courteous and prompt, and the woman who took our phone order was pleasant. Now that we found decent, tasty, inexpensive Chinese food, we are going to stick with King Garden on Philly Pike. read more

It's a bad sign when a Chinese place can't make a decent egg roll. The food is edible.

No matter what time of the day, their rice always seems mixed with old rice. Taste isn't there. Can't see how fried chicken gets jacked at a chinese restaurant. There's just no where close enough. I am so done with this place. I always end up noxious hoping for a better result... I'll pass from here on out after a full year of trying to like it becuase it's close n easy. read more

It's just American Chinese Takeout nothing special here does the trick. I find it hard to find good authentic ethnic food in Delaware. I would love for there to be a Vietnamese spot around here . This place is so good. It doesn't look like much but I've never had anything here I didn't like. My go to meal is the steamed dumplings and the general Tso's chicken. It's delicious. No matter what you order it's ready in 10 minutes. The place is very small and there are a few tables to sit at and eat but you're probably going to want to just do take out. read more

Office ordered Chinese and this is where we ordered from. Food was bland and lacked any true taste. I ordered a spicy chicken with house friend rice. They gave me 3 small pieces of chicken with pork fried rice. A majority of my meal was onions and red peppers. Would not order from here again. read more

I usually do a lot of business with this Chinese restaurant. They have been very good food wise but my rating is based on customer service. They have very poor customer service skills and lack in being friendly with the exception of a little girl (possibly a daughter, Around age11/12) who sometimes works in there taking orders and payments. I have had the same routine with them for quite some time. I call in my order I go to pick it up and pay. Today they were very nasty to not only me but a customer on the phone who's order they were taking. There is a lady who stands at the front to give you the food wasn't too bad until a man behind her started being nasty first. I advised them that I would not be returning and it's a shame because I do enjoy their food. But customer service is key, if you are having a bad day leave it outside of your business. Your customers (loyal ones at that) are the ones who keep the business running. read more

Delicious food, and fast delivery!!! Enjoyed the Kung Pao chix... many fresh veges and chix was sliced, not little cubes of mystery meat! Couldn't eat the vege lo mein, as I was full, but quick taste indicates a winner! Had to refrigerate wonton soup too, as I ate 2 egg rolls, (my weakness).
