Pick up is a quick get in get out experience. The inside looked nice. It was dimmed and looked pretty clean, but there were little to no eat in guests. The brown rice was soggy and gross, but the sweet and sour chicken and soup was delicious. *Indoor dining review* Not the best restaurant experience I've had. I came here because we were in the area and was hungry, but it ended up being a mistake. Maybe we should have ordered from sushi menu instead of kitchen menu. Although we sat down almost immediately, the waitress couldn't care less even if she tried. She seemed very unhappy that we showed up on a busy night. Apparently she just wanted us to hurry and order the food, since she never bother to introduce herself, never checked on us to see if we needed anything else, never refilled our water. ~Food~ The food is below average at best. And somehow they come out ALARMINGLY fast, that should have been our signal to walk out. Maybe it just today, but the sushi rice was extra sweet today. It took away the flavor of the Uni (sea urchin) nigiri. There is not supposed to be sushi rice in Unagi Don. Unagi is already sweet, so it made the dish particularly sweet. The seaweed on the Uni nigiri was very soggy. It should be crispy. Sashimi should be served on ice. It got warm fast. The first batch of hot saké was very sour like it had spoiled. They were able to change it out for us, which made it right. The waitress was overwhelmed, but still nice. Tonight is my last attempt at supporting this restaurant. Ordered a large party platter along with a few extra rolls and they all came in soy paper not nori. I have an anaphylactic soy allergy so I wasted about $150. Strike two was when I went to lunch with a coworker, told her about the soy allergy specifically and asked for no tofu in the pad Thai and was told that they don't put tofu in their pad Thai. Well, you guessed it the pad Thai came out with tofu. I thought the soy paper was an accident the first time but no apparently tonight I was told that was their normal which leads me to strike three. Ordered a bunch of chef's rolls and luckily this time I checked before I left. All the rolls were made from soy paper instead of Nori and nowhere on the menu does it say they use soy paper and the irony is that when you order online it states that soy paper is $1 extra per roll. Pad Thai and sushi are usually safe foods for me apparently not here so I will not be back. read more

I gagged on a thin metal coil in my food at Le Shio. This is one of my favorite restaurants which I frequent often, but not sure about returning again after this. They replaced my dish, but didn't comp me for the meal which surprised me. When I complained, they just took 10% off the bill ($2). I then spent the afternoon at the ER getting an Xray to make sure I hadn't swallow any other small metal pieces. Very frustrating. This is, HANDS DOWN, the best Asian food restaurant I've been to in Wilmington, so far (pre 2020). Everything I eat here is made perfectly with fresh ingredients, EVERY TIME! My favorite is the General Tso's chicken! Since the pandemic I appreciate the practices they've attributed to ensure everyone's safety. For example, you can't dine in anymore. You must take out. Also, they use gloves and have reduced person-to-person contact to a minimum with a door where you can only pay and receive your food. Service is terrible, do not go here. My sister and I went here on new years eve and should have made a reservation however we put our name in and had to come back two hours later. Once we arrived later on we got seated and 20 minutes passed with no one to come take our order and not even ask what we wanted to drink. Then finally a waitress arrived and took our order and we had stated that we wanted to put everything in at the same time so it would come out at the same time. She then proceeded to tell us that the sushi would take longer and we tried to be understanding since it was new years eve. Once she left an additional 40 minutes had passed and people who sat down after us were getting their plates of food, every attempt that I had made to get the waitresses attention had failed as she blew past us mulitple times to help assist people that arrived after us. Finally I flagged her down and we expressed our concern as to what was taking so long and come to find out she was arguing with us and she had never placed our order in the first place. So not only were we waiting, we were waiting for a BIG FAT NOTHING. What a shock how much this food was absolutely inedible(the appetizers were stuffed in the bag, the salads were kind of warm in there too. The sushi was fine which is to be expected.) The only salvage was the bartender who was suffering without any air conditioning! on a 95 degree day! The atmosphere here is always a little dark and gloomy but that makes the place sexy in a way but this wasn't the experience I'm used to. They were trying to tell us the reason they have no air conditioning in the dining area is because of the ceilings, but in the winter it'swarm just fine. I have never see a heater in the winter months. Either way I stayed for a drink, thank you to the very overheated bartender for being so kind during our orders. The 3 kingdoms was was practically inedible i could only find the shrimp in the order and nothing else. It was supposed to contain scallops, chicken and crab. I even called to tell someone I may have the wrong order, got put on hold and disconnected 2 times. It's my absolute favorite place on earth. When I'm away from home all I think about is Le Shio (in terms of cuisine, but also sometimes it's a recreational thought). I would spend my entire life savings at Le Shio if I could and everywhere I go I search for food as good as the food I eat when I'm here. I really want to love Le Shio (it's SO close to where I live!), but I just don't. I have eaten here a few times, but typically at the suggestion of a friend and not of my own volition. I will admit I have mostly ordered sushi, so maybe I need to branch out and try some of their stir fries, but it seems that others have suggested their sushi is really the way to go. Most recently, I went with friends for a quick dinner before we had to hop on 95 to make it to Philly for a show. We arrived around 5 and were seated immediately. Our waiter had serious RBF and was struggling to understand us (ex: a friend asked for no straw in her drink, and despite asking her to repeat herself and nodding understanding, she still got straws). Meanwhile, I also had a hard time understanding his accent. Service was quite slow, and we were nervous about getting on the road in time despite a relatively empty restaurant. As for the food: Appetizers: We got the calamari (which look like onion rings made of oversized rings of calamari and were just okay) and the fried cheese wontons (which were delicious and the reason one of my friends likes to go to Le Shio). Entrees: I ordered an Alaska roll and a Spicy Tuna roll. I do appreciate that Le Shio doesn't use super thick layers of rice, so I feel like I am filling up on the good stuff inside the roll instead of carbs, but I'm just always meh about the sushi itself. I can't say I've had a terrible experience, just no particularly good ones either. Other friends ordered stir fry dishes and seemed content, but nobody was raving. Drinks: Decent list of beer, wine, and cocktails. I opted for Thai Iced Tea, which was fine. I have to say this review is super mixed. First off entering I really like the look of the inside of this place it's like on the verge of great but due to its size it docks a bit. The service wasn't the greatest if I'm being honest but still was enjoying my time. I ordered the shrimp tempura roll for my meal and I was slightly disappointed - definitely not the best I've had and would say it had a bit too much of a fried flavor like a funnel cake almost. Next I got an order of California rolls, these were really cheap and tasted very nice. Finally I got an order of lo mein that was decent nothing very special but enjoyable. W got teriyaki salmon, tempura udon, California rolls, shrimp tempura rolls and gyoza. I'm happy with the taste overall, especially the sushi rolls. The tempura was very well done too. The only unusual thing for me is the udon soup. Of all the udon soups I had, I never had a spicy soup, but this one is spicy. I'm very sensitive to spicy food and I don't like any. Le Shio was an interesting experience but I'd go there again. The menu offers classic Ameri-Chinese food (not a huge menu) and they also offer sushi. The food came out in no particular order and in our case it meant that all of my dining partner's food was served before the items I ordered. We were both craving very different dishes. My friend ordered shrimp soup, shrimp shumai and spicy tuna roll, I ordered sautéed broccoli (it was in a General Tso's style sauce) which I think they forgot about as it came out very late, and yellow tail with scallion roll. Which arrived after my friend's soup and dumplings. We shared one of their special rolls it was beautifully presented (it is the one with the martini glass in the middle). I'm not a fan of spicy tuna or spicy salmon b/c they include mayo, I prefer wasabi to spicy mayo. Most of the special rolls (listed or not) included spicy tuna or salmon and / or included something fried or cooked. It's a cute restaurant with a small bar, a sushi bar, sort of flaky service, but good enough, an interesting menu which could use more special raw roll options. It's not cheap - my broccoli dish was $17but everything was fresh and delicious. I'd go again for sure. read more

On Friday 10/7/22 we walked in the restaurant around 7:55pm and were seated at a high top table next to the bar. The kind young gentleman who sat us wiped the table down for us and the gave us menus. We sat for 20 minutes and no one even stopped at our table. While we sat at the table, a server walked by us no fewer than 8 times while serving the table next to us. We left once the table behind us--seated 15 minutes later than us--was greeted by a server. We weren't offered a glass of water--or even acknowledged by any staff--during the 20 minutes at our table. We were in full view of the 4+ people working at the host stand. We saw them looking at us while we looked around to see what was going on.
