We drive from Indy to Anderson once every couple of months just to eat at King Gyros. Their Gyro special is one of my guilty pleasures. The gyro is delicious, the fries are good, and the price is incredible for the quality and quantity of food you get. My husband also loves their Italian beef. Stopped by the drive thru and ordered a tenderloin combo. Sandwich comes with lettuce, tomato and mayo. I was THRILLED to see they used shredded lettuce and not a piece of dark green wilted lettuce like so many other restaurants use! Tenderloin was bigger than the bun! I cut my sandwich in half to make it more manageable. Sandwich came with a generous portion of French fries and a 22oz drink. Employees were friendly and my food was ready fast. There food is really good. I always get the chicken gyro with extra pitta bread. What I don't like is the dude at the drive through window. Every time I go there he has an attitude and it's making me not want to go there. This location needs better management or something. read more

King Gyros is pretty ok. I'm from a place where Gyro joints seem like they are on every corner, so moving to Anderson has been an adjustment. Back home, this place would have been right in the middle of the pack. I might have eaten there out of convenience or necessity. Here, though, it's all there really is. Don't get me wrong, the food is decent. I'm not going to rave about it because it isn't that kind of place. Everything is very consistent. You definitely always know what you're ordering. I haven't strayed too far from the gyros because...it's called gyro king. You don't go there for a hot dog... Still loving this location! We always stop in for the near perfect grilled cheese sandwich and fries. Comes out piping hot on buttered potato bread, with a generous portion of fries. I also tried the big baby burger and it was totally worth it. The burger comes out with 2 large patties, cheese, grilled onions, pickles, ketchup and mustard. Horrible customer service i called and was placing a order over the phone. They had a attitude taking the order then hang up mid order and never picked back up. I've had issues with the owner and some of their male workers too. They need a change in staff. They losing my business I'll just go to steak city at least they taking your money without a attitude and get your order right the first time. The food is really good. I'm a big fan of their chicken gyros and fries. My boyfriend usually gets the bbq chicken and fries. Since it is a meal it comes with their garlic bread, which is really good. (Simple things can be the best things) The inside is a little outdated, but I always get it to-go anyways. read more

I am back from the Las Vegas area having discovered that the probability of getting a good gyro decreases with every mile traveled south and west of Illinois. This is my first gyro since my return from this gyro wasteland and the experience was great...though I have had better gyros. The era of gyro meat on a spit is pretty much over, the victim of taste-impaired health departments worried about all of us eating raw meat. So that means the deeply flavored almost crispy gyro meat is a thing of the past. Now the meat arrives at the restaurant sliced and frozen, ready to be plunked on the grill. How long it is left there to brown is one of the keys to a good gyro and this place does a good but not great job in this regard. The portions are extremely generous, they are not stingy with the sauce and like I said, not bad at all. The fries were undistinguished, undercooked and soggy, perhaps the victim of a fryer set at too low a temperature. Overall though, I recommend this place. read more

Decided what we wanted before arrival, only to get there and order it, and the guy behind the counter looked at me like I had 3 heads! So we had to rethink what we wanted to eat, the Gyro was good but my wife did not like her plain ham and cheese on a pita, there menu (online) said it had tomatoes onion lettuce and Italian dressing nope did it get that.
