Eva's is a place I'd lovingly refer to as a "greasy spoon"...and I mean that in the most endearing way! Easy to miss as the sign is a bit faded out front, and the main entrance faces into the parking lot. You walk into a restaurant that appears a little worn with dated decor. Don't let that deter you! I was seated immediately and noticed there were quite a few occupied tables at lunchtime. My booth was clean and well stocked with condiments. The waitress arrived and was very friendly, took my drink order and left me to peruse the menu. It is a large menu! You won't be disappointed with the many choices offered here. My coffee was fresh and hot, the waitresses offered to warm it up several times during my visit. I ended up with the vegetarian omelet, grits and wheat toast. It arrived very quickly and was hot/fresh. The veggies in the omelet were seasoned well, and the grits were creamy. The wheat toast was thick cut. It was a large meal and I was able to take home half for lunch the next day. I'll come back again and try the pancakes next time. read more

Last Sunday a friend of mine and I went out to Eva's Pancake House & Restaurant for breakfast. I have been a fan of Eva's for a few years now but this is the first time I have sat down and reviewed my experience. We got a late start to the morning but breakfast is good anytime of the day or night. Even so, it was still the AM when we arrived. The restaurant was busy so we had a few minute wait for our table. Our server was at our table soon after we sat down and took our drink order and said she'd come back in a few minutes to take our order. I am pretty much a creature of habit and I have my go-tos. I enjoy a good skillet for breakfast and Eva's had one on the menu that I don't remember seeing before. I also like to try new and exciting things or in this case, something I haven't eaten before so I ordered the Eva's Skillet with french toast instead of toast or pancakes. My friend ordered an omelette with bacon and cheese with pancakes. Our server (I wish I could remember her name.) asked my friend if she wanted the 5 egg omelette or the 2 egg. My friend's eyes get really big and said she would like to have the 2 egg omelette. I think the 5 egg choice was a bit intimidating! As is always been the case at Eva's, our food was delivered to our table in no time flat, hot, and looking very tasty. We drove straight in and enjoyed the remainder of the morning. The Eva's Skillet is a bed of hash browns with cheddar cheese, smothered in sausage gravy and topped with 2 eggs, style of your choice. It is a carb lovers dream! My french toast was your basic two slices of bread, dunked in egg, and fried up. The skillet was good and filling. Just what I expect from a place like Eva's. The french toast was okay. It wasn't bad, it is just I have mind numbingly great french toast so I have high standards. My friend's omelette looked very good and I know the pancakes were very good, Eva's does make a mean pancake... Overall this visit to Eva's Pancake House & Restaurant was like every other... very good. The staff if quick, efficient, and friendly. You never have to wait too long for a table and smelling all of the delicious food as you wait, makes just a bit hungrier! If you are trying to decide where to eat any given morning, why not give Eva's go? I know you won't be disappointed. read more

Since moving to Anderson, we have come to see Eva's as a reliable breakfast spot. The quality is consistent and the service is always friendly. Could you conceivably have a long wait? Yup. The after church rush is brutal on the staff. Please be patient with them. They are always moving as fast as they can. My favorites are the omelets and wraps. The country fried steak and eggs is also good. They also have a light Greek influence so you can get gyros themed omelets and platters as well. In the grand scheme of breakfast joints, Eva's won't do you wrong. read more

We go here every Friday with a group of 5-7. The waitstaff remembers what we drink and keeps them filled. The fried chicken salad is great, but get the small which is more than most can eat without taking half home. Their senior menu is good. I wish they'd find someone else to seat people and take to go orders. This isn't the first time that he has been absolutely RUDE. If he doesn't enjoy his job seems he needs to find another one. Full disclosure: This restaurant has one of my favorite breakfast items in all of Indiana (western wrap), but docking a star because I just ate there and the waitress was not wearing her mask the entire time (on her neck, which serves no purpose), and another staff member had her mask below her mouth as well. Pandemic is still going on, and YES! you really can talk through a mask, so no need to exposure yourself and other people to answer the phone or have a conversation. It is especially important to WEAR A MASK WHILE TALKING as that's when stuff might come out of your mouth. I won't return for awhile, and not without confidence that the staff is wearing masks and following what I imagine is Indiana's restaurant protocol. read more

This is our #1 breakfast spot. The portions are huge and the food is always good. It is a nice homey, pancake house vibe. My husband and sons love their skillets.
