This makes the fourth and final Skyline Chili I have reviewed. I believe I got all of the Indy Metro Area SCs. Yes I am a HUGE fan of SC and no I didn't drive from Martinsville just to eat here. I just happened to be in Carmel for the day already. But they do need to build a location in Martinsville now that the new I-69 is completed there. I ordered my usual 4-way with onions and absolutely inhaled a small size. I should have gotten a medium size. It had been too long since I had my favorite chili. Service was immediate since I was first one for dinner time. The temperature inside the restaurant was a pleasant room temperature and not freezing cold like a lot of places are. They have a display case behind the cashier station with several products for sale that have the Skyline Chili name and logo on them. I was thrilled to find a Skyline Chili on my business trip. The restaurant is right off the highway, a convenient stop if you are hungry. They have a drive through or you can come in and sit down. I ate inside because I knew what I was getting was something you shouldn't eat in the car. I always get the three-way which is pasta, chili, and cheese. You can add beans (4-way) and/or onions (5-way). For Skyline enthusiasts you can buy items with the Skyline logo. I was hoping to purchase the seasoning packets but they did not carry them. I've been looking forward to having some Skyline Chili Corey's for some time now. Had an opportunity tonight and to say I was Disappointed would be an understated. I love skyline. I am trying to be more carb conscious and they have a low carb bowl that is fantastic. You get to experiance the hot dogs, chili and cheese. It's just darn good food. I don't normally give my opinions on fast food but I don't think that I had ever eaten Skyline before. I stored in the other day for lunch and grabbed a couple of coney dogs. It was cheap, came out quick, and waitress was fantastic. The chili had a strong cinnamon flavor which kind of puts me off (a little f the spice goes a long way with me). My first visit here was perhaps a few months ago, back when they still had the ice cream shop next door. Different strokes for different folks. The chili sauce is not what I am used to. It has an extra spice which is okay, but I grew up with the Detroit Coney dogs and prefer them, sauce and all. I ordered a bowl of chili and one Coney dog. They hit the spot. Parents, don't hesitate to order a hot dog or Coney dog for the little ones. The dogs are about 5 " long, just the right size for a kid. This place was featured but at the original location in Cincinnati. Atmosphere - One other customer was here when we arrived. Felt weird arriving at dinner time and so few people in such a large space. The place has very clean modern feel trying to feel like a café. But in doing so it feels very sterile. Food Drink - Just water tonight. They do have Pepsi products. Dinner - I have always wanted to try Cincinnati Chili, so I went all the way. 5 way, spaghetti, topped with chili, beans, onions and a mound of cheese. I had them bringing the heat, with their extreme habanero cheese. Like habanero the heat is brought on the back end. Skyline's own hot sauce reminded me of Tabasco with a little more heat which shows up on the front end. A great combo bringing different heats at different times. Service - Yes it was our first time and all of the staff knew it. I think most people are regulars here, which great for them. Our waiter asked if we wanted samples, we both said no. But now I curious what would have been the samples. He was friendly and great. Future - Maybe for lunch, this place knows how to get people in and out. read more

I finally had some Skyline Chili, it is not my bag baby. A lot of people rave about it, I personally like Wendy's a lot better. Chili on spaghetti, I guess that is also another personal preference, but again not mine. The food was hot and the restaurant was spotless. The waitstaff was awesome. This is one of my favorite stops when I am traveling on 69. It is bright, clean, great service, and has tasty food. Skyline is a Cincinnati- based chain that has made its way into different parts of Ohio and Indiana. It's known for its chili sauce, which has both the traditional meat and a vegetarian option. I love getting the three-way : it is spaghetti topped with chili sauce and a ton of cheese!! What more could a girl want?? :) As I get older, sometimes the sauce makes my tummy hurt (boo to aging and sensitive tummies) but the tasty oyster crackers help me prepare (served with all meals). This is always a 5-Star experience for me. Love the vegetarian 4-way, especially with habanero cheddar. I often get a baked potato topped with habanero cheddar which is always delicious. Because it is hidden behind a gas station in a strip mall it is probably often overlooked. The food is good the service is always fast. The only reason I didn't give it another star is price. It is an expensive option for lunch. It is probably about two times the cost of regular fast food. I tend to eat heavy at lunch so my typical visit will be around $16 plus the tip. read more

I don't care what anyone says...Skyline is always a five star affair for me. The Cincinnati based chain has gradually moved their way to the Indy area and I welcome them with open arms. The cost is reasonable for a high calorie lunch, and the five way chili and spaghetti (mounded with cheese) is my go to. Seems like the coney dogs have been shrinking in size for years now...two coneys equals about one regular dog. This specific location has very nice staff...we were offered some samples for my son (his first ever visit)! Very cool of our hostess to do. And there is an attached ice cream place connected to this Skyline. I have never been in there, nor have I ever observed anyone else. Oh well. Definitely the worst Skyline Chilli I've ever had. The bun was soggy, the onions were not ripe (green spots) and you could taste it, and there was very minimal cheese on it. Unlike most other Skyline experiences I've had. On top of the food being not too good, the staff almost seemed annoyed that I did carry out vs going through the drive-thru... which I had to go to the bathroom so that's why I went in. The what seamed to be manager though appeared to be friendly and professional. Just not the female who took my order and I guess the cook for sending out a meal that looked like that. As other reviewers have mentioned, Skyline is something you're either familiar with or you're not. It's often referred to as "Greek" style chili, although I have no idea whether or not that's accurate. This location was very clean, with great service. Coming from someone who lives with 2 Cincinnati locals, we tend to eat here quite often, for it is the one thing that is always craved. The customer service at this location is absolutely wonderful! They are always so professional, friendly, and they are fast and efficient. It is a great place to grab a quick bite to eat. My only problem with this Skyline location is the lack of chili they use on their meals. They are so conservative with it and it kills me! it is Skyline CHILI. I dined here in November 1, 2019. I seated myself and was greeted promptly by the waitress, Kim. She took my drink order and I told her I needed a few minutes to decide what to order. She brought my drink quickly, I ordered my food. The food was served quickly and was good. Kim was friendly and attentive, checked on me to see if I needed refill or anything else several times. My wife and I stopped by here on our way back from Indianapolis, she became ecstatic to see a Skyline sign in the sky. Given that I had never been to one, I didn't understand the level of excitement she had, but willingly pulled off the freeway to appease her whim. For the most part, this is a diner. Fast, quick, easy food; nearly all topped with the "famous" Skyline chili. The chili is okay. It tastes almost like pie spices (cinnamon, clove, and allspice) are in the chili, some people might like this but I'm a traditionalist when it comes to chili; hence I'm not a fan. For what it was, the restaurant was clean, the staff courteous, and the food fresh. They were more than happy to fill our waters and make sure that we had adequate portions of cheese on our food. However, given the nature of the restaurant, don't come here if you want something without chili, they are very limited in those types of dishes. read more

This place doesn't serve chili. This place serves Greek meat sauce on pasta. It is only called "chili" because the Greek who started the restaurant had a recipe for Greek meat sauce and needed a name that he could use to sell it to Americans. At the time Skyline was started, "chili" was meat in a spicy Mexican-style red sauce, beans came later. Soup-like consistency came later. In parts of Texas, chili specifically does NOT have beans, and they're very proud of that fact. That being said, it is what it is, and their Greek meat sauce is quite nice for what it is. They also have their hotter version, which has a tiny bit of kick in it. It's also palatable. If you're looking for fast food that's not the same old fried stuff, it's worth going here. If you're looking for actual chili, not here. read more

Skyline Chili is definitely a unique chili. If you know what it is this location is great. If you don't know what Skyline Chili is you owe it to yourself to try it. Note that the chili isn't think and the hotdogs are small so order more than you think will be necessary, or just fill the void with the free crackers, yum! I also love that they have jalapeño cheese now which pairs very well with their in house hot sauce. The Skyline is a must go whenever we are enroute to the Indy area.
