As I was ordering... only Based on the Order takers facial expression I asked for a Split plate with Chicken + Lamb lunch plate. I am absolutely thankful I also ordered chicken! If I had only ordered lamb, I'd likely be upset: it was mostly 70-80% fat/gristle non-edible. As a former vegetarian, it definitely hit my gag reflex at least once. This was a quick stop off the freeway for us and the food was good, seemed to be overpriced for what we got, but it was flavorful and hot.

I came here after going to the courthouse nearby and was hungry for some kefta. It came with grilled onions, tomatoes on rice with a salad and hummus on the side. It may not look fancy inside but the food is OK. Order the chicken kabob plate and that's your usual. It comes with hummus ,rice and salad and pita. You do get a lot of chicken and rice. Unfortunately I had some pieces that were dry. There wasn't too much flavor either on the chicken. The rice was light and fluffy the hummus was very smooth and was actually really good. If you're in the neighborhood stop and check it out to form your own opinion, but no need to drive out of your way. read more

This is a difficult review to write. Why? Because this restaurant is betting on two, maybe three, other restaurants to move into the building to share its space. The food is okay. At the woman's recommendation, I ordered the chicken and kafta plate. The chicken was tastier than the kafta, which was basically simply lightly seasoned ground beef. The pita and hummus were good. The service was okay. I tried to use Apple Pay, but the sensor didn't read it. So I used a credit card, but the sensor would read that, either. So I used cash. The ambiance was okay. As I said, there are at least two vacant restaurant spaces in the building which would all share the same dining area. Someone was working on one of the vacancies. It wasn't brightly lit in there, but I was able to see my food okay. I didn't go back there. I was on jury duty, and I found a cheaper, tastier meal down the street at Molly's Cafe, which takes cash and credit cards. read more

Large portions are worth the price. Service was good. The server is informative and kind. The location is downtown SB, close to the courthouse. It looks like it used to be a food court, but Kabab King is the only business in the building. We came here on Friday around 4:30 and it was empty. The location is daunting as it is hard to see the name and it looks like an abandoned building. Inside there's lots of tables and room for a party. We ordered the chicken kebab and the vegetarian plate and the kafta. We waited forever for our food-we got it to go. It was easily at least 15 minutes. We got home and the plates were a nice size. They only gave us two tiny containers of garlic sauce and 1 container of some kind of sauce that tasted like hummus. The chicken kebab was good and so was the kafta. The vegetarian plate on the other hand had an issue. The eggplant mixture stuff-idk what it's called but I've had it other places, tasted rancid. It was definitely bad. Who knows how old it was or maybe they just didn't keep it at the proper temperature, who knows but I didn't eat it. The hummus tasted fine and the falafels were ok, nothing special, they give u three pieces. The samosa was good and the grape leave things were good too, they had a different flavor than I've tasted before but it was good. Personally I wouldn't return but my parents liked their food so I guess I'll be back. Maybe the pita sandwich would be better...They got three stars because of the food but it took way too long. read more
