Chicken was tasty with Salad + Fresh hummus; Lamb wasn't
    David R.

Noticed it as driving by with hunger for lunch! Saw the word 'Kebab' and Immediately thought: I'll try their Lamb! As I was ordering... only Based on the Order takers facial expression I asked for a Split plate with Chicken + Lamb lunch plate. I am absolutely thankful I also ordered chicken! If I had only ordered lamb, I'd likely be upset: it was mostly 70-80% fat/gristle non-edible. As a former vegetarian, it definitely hit my gag reflex at least once. For $30 bucks with tip, I'd hope for better. I wonder what fat the rice was cooked in. Chicken was great. Plus tasty Salad + Fresh hummus.

I came here after going to the courthouse nearby and was hungry for some kefta. It came with grilled onions, tomatoes on rice with a salad and hummus on the side. It arrived hot and fresh, the meat was juicy and tender. The salad was crispy and the hummus was creamy. Place has no a/c, plenty of seating inside, and the staff was nice.

It was all right...some were dry..but the salad was good

It may not look fancy inside but the food is OK. Order the chicken kabob plate and that's your usual. It comes with hummus ,rice and salad and pita. You do get a lot of chicken and rice. Unfortunately I had some pieces that were dry. There wasn't too much flavor either on the chicken. The rice was light and fluffy the hummus was very smooth and was actually really good. If you're in the neighborhood stop and check it out to form your own opinion, but no need to drive out of your way.

This was a quick stop off the freeway for us and the food was good, seemed to be overpriced for what we got, but it was flavorful and hot.

I placed an order online for pickup and was given a pickup time. The place is very open, spacious and just has a neat vibe to it. I walked right up to the counter to give them my name for pick up and they said they were finishing it up. There were other people waiting for their orders as well. A couple minutes later, the gentleman behind the counter called out "Daniel" and the guy waiting next to me jumped right in and grabbed the bag and took off. I had wondered "I hope they didn't pronounce my name wrong and that was MY order." But didn't think much of it. Then the gentleman behind the counter asked me the name for my order. When I said "Danielle" he said "oh that was yours, the guy just left." He kind of looked at me like it was my problem to fix, so I took off after the guy and the employee followed me. Thankfully, the guy didn't get very far because he was verifying the order, so we made the exchange. Whew! I ordered the charbroiled chicken shish kabob with extra grilled veggies and a side Mediterranean salad as well as the hummus trio with sliced cucumbers instead of pita bread. The chicken kabob meal was delicious! The chicken was cooked to perfection and the option to add on more veggies was much appreciated! I was really excited about the hummus trio, but sadly I found it to be lacking flavor. With the 3 options of regular hummus, spicy red bell pepper and edamame, I was definitely expecting a flavor explosion, but it fell flat for me. I'd definitely come back to try more of their main dishes. Seems like a great little spot to dine in.

Everything is cooked over heated charcoal so there's no flame or grimey grills. This results in significantly less smoke and a very low risk of overcooking/burning your meat. Each of the little skewers is heated slowly on a rotating bicycle chain that twirls the meat for even cooking. It's super fun to watch--dinner and a show! Haha. Another plus is that the meat comes in bite sized portions, so no struggling to remove a hunk of meat from the stick and no need for knives! In essence, adult finger food or tasting menu that allows you to try everything. GUI has incredible variety, including lots of exotic meats: chicken gizzard, chicken heart, chicken cartilage, frog, etc. I'm not that adventurous and prefer not to deal with bones, so I stuck with the classics: pork belly, chicken, and bacon wrapped mushroom. Even though GUI is known for their bbq, they also serve tasty side dishes like oysters and cucumber salad. The restaurant is located on the second level of an Asian strip mall just off the 60 freeway. Parking can be challenging during dinner hours so go early. Service is good and they kept the beers flowing. If you have a larger group, there are a few air conditioned private rooms that are nice and quiet. The staff were nice enough to store a birthday cake in their refrigerator in the back. They give a discount on your birthday but it has to be the exact day

After seated I could feel the heat from the grill next to me. I ordered a few items like Beef, Lamb, Beef tongue skewers, lamp soup, Dan Dan noodles and grilled oysters. We liked that we get it cook it on our own but sometimes I get worried if it's cooked well for eating. The Dan Dan noodle didn't have soup base but it tasted really good! The lamb soup was great too but it was too hot for the weather that day. I was looking forward for my grilled oysters but it was undercooked a little so we asked them to cook a little bit longer for us. Overall, I liked the experience and the price was decent. I wish the AC would be stronger or it was out that day... it was quite hard to enjoy bbq skewers when it's really hot. I think it would come back again when it's less hot!

I ordered 2 of the chicken kabob plates which did take about 20 min to come out which means your food is coming out fresh and it's worth the wait. The salad had great seasoning, very refreshing, although I wasn't a big fan of the pickles or yellow peppers in it. The chicken is juicy and flavorful and you think the rice is just plain white rice but it's so buttery and soft! The plate comes with one pita bread to dip in the tasty hummus that was also yummy and not too sour like some places can be. Overall food is 10/10 you get a big meal with lots of flavor. I had leftovers so I would say you can share 1 plate and be fine. The place is a little old and outdated but I think that's how you know a place is gonna serve you some good food.
