This company was highly recommended by one of my neighbors. They did a great job on their landscaping so I decided to hire them. The workers arrived on time as scheduled and they performed the complete difficulty job (on a very hot day 115F) in one day. The outcome was exceptional. They replaced the drip system tubing and mechanism/timer, cleaned up and truly redesign the landscape where the results were exceptional. It provided my front yard a new street appeal view. We live in an HOA and we wanted a view fence. 20/20 reached out to the HOA and received approval for the fence. What started out as a small project, we ended up tearing out the landscaping and all new plants, cactus, pavers, turf and new BBQ area. Zach did a great job laying the project out. We added to the scope of work and they were accommodating. They also put in a new irrigation system along with lighting system and the place looks amazing. Just like Amy jobs there were some hiccups along the way. The reason I'm giving them 5 stars is their team did a great job laying everything out and redesigning the yard. I'm updating my original 5-star review due to a frustrating and misleading experience after the job was completed. I hired this company to design and do my entire yard, including a sprinkler zone for future sod. Naturally, I assumed this meant the sprinklers would be installed underground, functional, and ready to go when I was ready to lay sod. I was actually ready to move forward with ordering sod through them, but they didn't carry the type I wanted (Kurapia), and that's when I found out something surprising: the sprinkler heads had been left completely exposed above ground, and I'd need to bring in 8 tons of dirt just to raise the grade enough for the system to work properly. That was never disclosed upfront, and it seems odd that I'd be quoted a sprinkler zone for "future sod" without the proper grading to support it. It felt misleading and incomplete--like a bait and switch. I paid to have a functioning system, not one I couldn't use until I hired someone else to bring in truckloads of soil. To make matters worse, the patio overlay is poorly finished--it doesn't sit flush with the house, and it tapers away, leaving a visible gap filled with sand that gets larger & washes onto the pavers anytime it gets wet or windy. It looks messy and unfinished. I brought these issues up with Zach, who said for three weeks straight that he'd come out to take a look. He never did. He finally sent Tio this week instead--who was helpful and respectful--but it should not have taken that long. Tio also had to correct multiple things that were supposed to be done right the first time: he extended the perimeter drip line, which didn't actually go around the full yard, and he fixed a sprinkler head that had been installed with a 360-degree spray pattern where a directional spray was needed. Despite these issues, Zach was condescending and dismissive in our follow-up call after Tio left. He made it sound like I should be grateful they didn't charge me for fixing their own mistakes. I even had to ask him, "Are you done?" on the phone because he kept talking over me and not letting me speak. Not to mention, I believe the drip and sprinkler systems should be covered under a one-year warranty, so his comments felt especially unprofessional. I want to be clear--I had no issues with Jeff, who was always respectful and great to work with. My experience went downhill this week because of how Zach handled things after Tio came out. Overall, I'm disappointed. Not just with the work, but with the lack of transparency, accountability, and respect in how my concerns were handled. I can't confidently recommend this company anymore. read more

***edited*** Soon after this review was posted, I received a phone call from Zach with the company. He wanted to confirm some of the things I mentioned and asked if there was anything they could do to make things right. I said I would I appreciate them fixing the area of the yard where the roses are where his guys laid the rock, but no weed barrier. He told me he would need to go by the house to determine whether or not they did in fact use weed barrier, so we scheduled a time for him to go by and look. As it turned out, there was no weed barrier, so he scheduled a time the following week to get his crew in to remove the rock, clear the grass and weeds, lay the barrier, and lay the rock back down. As much as I appreciate him reaching out to try to fix things, scheduling was a problem and he had to reschedule twice. This wouldn't be such an issue, except that I have a tenant in the house and need to work around her schedule. I also was the one who had to reach out to him to see if he was coming. There wasn't any communication from his end until I initiated. At the end of the day, the crew fixed the problem with the weed barrier and it looks a lot better. I decided not to remove my review because the experience I had absolutely needed to be made known. One problem was fixed, but that did not take away all of the problems I endured during the initial job. Again, I truly appreciate the company reaching out to try to remedy this situation. This is why I changed my rating from 1 star to 3 stars. The last two photos are from when they came and fixed the weed barrier with a double layer. It looks much better now. ------------ I would 100% never recommend this company for anything other than the design. Tom is the designer and was wonderful. Outside of that, my experience was a complete disaster. I paid a substantial amount for them to build a firepit, add gravel and plants to (already built) planters, adding plants to the front yard, and plant a new mature tangelo tree. I asked them to prune the citrus trees and rose bushes, as well as cut back and manicure a bush near my driveway. The crew left my property a mess- throwing my grandpa's tools all over the yard, trash, cans, hats, etc. They left foot prints in the concrete surrounding the firepit. The concrete boarder they built around the roses had concrete bleeding out into the grass and all along the bottom of the boarder. The irrigation line they laid down through the yard wasn't dug deep enough and was clearly visible. They didn't lay down a weed barrier before laying the rock surrounding the roses, so now I have to pay another company money to remove the rock, clear the weeds, lay the barrier, and relay the rock. They hacked the bush in my front yard so badly, it looked like I gave a chainsaw to a 10 year old. Ron was the foreman on the job. I got push back from him the entire way and nothing but excuses. It was infuriating dealing with this company and ensuring that I got my money's worth. I am still dealing with their mistakes. read more

We hired Landscape 20/20 to refresh our backyard and extend our back patio for more entertaining space, and we are so happy that we did! We contacted a few landscape companies in our project research phase and finally settled on Landscape 20/20 after meeting with Sean. He was friendly, professional, and passionate about his work. After discussing what we were looking for, he offered several ideas we hadn't considered. He knew we wanted to refresh the yard but didn't want to do a complete clean sweep, so he suggested utilizing some of the plants we already had and refreshing an existing water feature. We added some new plants to fill the space and add more color. Sean also suggested adding a small seat wall where we had an existing wood firepit, making the space look so much more inviting. They also made our water feature look even better than it was new! We initially thought we wanted just a concrete slab for the extended patio, and we are so happy that we did not go that route. We picked out a travertine paver that compliments our pool decking nicely. After we installed the patio, we called Sean back a few months later to install a pergola. It has completely changed our backyard and helps provide much-needed shade for our master bedroom! Overall, we are happy with all the work Landscape 20/20 did on our property and how it completely changed our backyard! I contacted Landscape 20/20 last May. Initially, they were very responsive and gave me a competitive quote for some changes to my front patio. However, when I asked for some changes, and when they could start the work, that was the last I heard from them. I tried texting and calling - nothing. I also tried calling them this October, for a similar project. The first time I called the number on their website, there was no answer at all. The second time I tried calling I got an answering machine and asked for a callback, but none was received. I'm not sure this is actually a real business. read more

I had a very positive experience with Landscape 20/20! They did a complete refresh of the desert landscape in my front yard and it turned out great! This included all new plants (we kept a large tree), extra granite, contouring, faux creek bed, a new drip system, lighting, and a new paver patio with a low privacy wall. The owner, Sean Varnum, did a lovely design using a variety of cactus, succulents, and other desert friendly plants. I was especially pleased that he was open to suggestions that I had and responded to texts and emails quickly. He completed the HOA architectural request form for me and allowed me to help chose plants at a nursery he uses. After the crew actually started the project it took only 5 business days to complete the transformation! They were all very professional and cleaned up everything after they finished. I had tried a few other companies and either had no response (3 of them) or 1 that took 3 months for a quote at $5k OVER my budget. Sean made numerous trips to meet with us, traded numerous emails, was very responsive to texts. Revised his plans several times. Big plus in our book.
