I settled on King Mao based on Yelp reviews...I ordered kung pao chicken and the Singapore noodles...I've come to the conclusion Chinese restaurants base their seasoning on the particular area they are in. For example here at this restaurant they use curry seasoning for their noodles where as in Hawaii soy sauce, sesame seed oil, and/or oyster sauce is used. I guess people have responded favorably for the curry seasoned noodles, my first time trying Chinese food seasoned with curry powder...my take on the food here, I enjoyed the flavor for both dishes I ordered and the portions were served to feed 3-4 people. I will go back to try some of the other dishes. Not a bad place, definitely worth giving them a try... read more

Ordered carry out, food was ready relatively quick (about 10 minutes). The food was better than your average China buffet. Proportion size was very large and one meal fed 2 people and still had leftovers. Will go back again. read more

A "Chinese" restaurant that doesn't serve sweet tea. The food doesn't taste Chinese at all. You can drive 7 miles toward Hopkinsville and get an awesome all you can eat Chinese buffet for probably the same price. Don't eat here, unless you're desperate. read more

Originally from NYC and been living in Clarksville TN on and off for the past 7 years...this is as close to NYC Chinese food as it gets. FAST, DELICIOUS, PLENTIFUL...what more could you ask for? What's awesome is that I've ordered there so many times...and the one time attempted to order while inebriated...all you gotta do is say "I'd like my previous order"...helluva lot easier than trying to pronounce (CRAB RANGOON) when you can't feel your lips. Oh and the customer service is STUPENDOUS! I do recommend the take out or delivery though...and every time they say 30-45 min...they are there in like 15?!? We order King Mao 3 times a week - No Lie! The Chinese food is always hot and it typically comes faster than the arrival time they tell you it will take when you call in your order. I have asked for specific things like no baby corn in certain dishes and Kind Mao has always been accommodating to every need I have and they get it right. The staff is always friendly and they go out of their way to make sure your order is correct and that you are happy with your food. The prices are some of the most reasonable in town for Chinese food. You can't go anywhere that I am aware of and get so much food for such a great price. Ok, This used to be the best place for delivery for on post. The food was great and fast delivery (usually 45 mins). Now, food gets her cold, delivery times hour and half, and now twice they got the order wrong!! Tonight we get a call from someone who got OUR order to tell us they got it. Then, when mu husband called and told him we wanted a fresh order they told us it would be 2 hours!! We told them we would pick-up instead. When we picked up our food was hot. They did nothing to fix it AND no sorry our driver messed up. I would have at least like and apology. The food is still good. Just pick up don't get it delivered. read more

Probably one of the best sit-in, take-out, and delivery American-Chinese style foods. The Singapore Mei Fun is the best in town. I have also tried the newish Salt and Pepper Shrimp. A bit too salty for my taste, but otherwise very good. The curry beef and onions was also surprisingly delicious. Also, their fried chicken wings and fries is very good. Best Chinese takeout in Clarksville. After shopping every other chinese restaurant in Clarksville, we found Kibng Mao. Our family of five loves King Mao. The servings are always enough for two meals. The food is flavorfull unlike some of the others in town. The prices are better than any edible chinese food we've found here. (Yes, there are a few cheaper,but notice the word "edible".) We started going to King Mao's shortly after they opened. I love Chinese food. I moved back down here from Michigan 2 years ago. This is the best place I have been to in TN for Chinese food. I have tried many others in Clarksville and Dickson and nothing even comes close. They have friendly service. The prices are fair.The portions are perfect size and the food is always hot. We go there for lunch or dinner at least twice a month. I recommend this place to my family and friends all the time. They have the best crab rangoon I have ever had. I have tried several chinese places, eat in and take out, and this place is the BOMB!! I always get great service, the order is always right and its FRESH!! Buffets can have all the other business because i would rather have fresh food than food thats been sitting "warming" for hours. Best takeout in Clarksville! The only downside is the fried rice, it's yellow, looks like the frozen kind that comes in a bag...but the white rice makes up for it. I know, I know, white rice is boring, but it's seriously the best white rice ever, so tender and fluffy and even if you pop it in the microwave a couple days later it still nice and fluffy!!! All the other food I've tried is delicious, they also have coupons for free sides/entrees with a purchase over a certain amount. Besides having great food when you call for deliver they are so polite over the phone and delivery time is quick. They usually tell me 45 min to an hour but I don't think I've ever waited longer than a 1/2 hour. Highly recommend, this is my go to for Clarksville. read more

Long day of meetings, and after an accidental nap until 9:30pm I was hungry and far away from home. Who will deliver? My first choice was not willing to travel to my hotel, to far away. I figured I would play it safe and order standards. Pork fried rice, egg roll and wanton soup. Delivery was quick, food was hot but that's about it. I had asked for a spoon and fork, no dice. The wanton tasted like it had turmeric in it (main spice found in Indian curry) which, you may like, I did not. The egg rolls were crispy but the inside was boring and almost slimy? The fried rice was edible but plain. Pricing was fair. Overall I would pass but who knows maybe the other dishes are better? read more

We've been going to King Mao for over 6 months now, we live on the "slums" side of Clarksville in New Providence, as another reviewer pointed out, and it's hard to find some good eats around here without having to drive 15 mins over to Wilma. King Mao seems to be the exception in this area, compared to the other Chinese spots you can order from, the food always tastes fresh, with great portions for $5 lunch specials, and dinner prices won't break the bank either. One caveat, most of the staff are friendly with the exception of one person, who can come across first as being a little arrogant and cocky, and I used to wonder why they even hired this person until I saw he really knows what he's doing, and over time he has actually become the most helpful one working there. Again, the food always tastes great, and delivery is always within 30 mins. read more

I absolutely love this place! The food is delicious, portions are huge and staff are friendly. The salt & pepper fish is to die for and the wings taste like home fried chicken! My food has not taste right only once and when i called to complain they gave me an option of a credit or re-delivery of better food. They also threw in a free item of my choice. I am a regular customer so I always get 10% off my order. I have lost 20lbs eating only the lunch combos which are less than$6 each. The portions are big so I get the wonton soup and opt for the steam rice. I eat the soup and crackers for lunch and the entree for dinner. The staff at King Mao noticed my weight loss and wanted to know how I did it. They were shocked to find out that their food is my diet plan. it only took 3 weeks to achieve that weight loss. King Mao's Honey Chicken is the best. I literally get this every time. The food comes hot, I have never had an issue with the food being cold or anything. Online ordering makes it easier but to caveat that you must order at least 10 dollars worth and they only deliver within like 2-5 miles. One of the best Chinese Food places. First time eating there. Off to a bad start when the guy at the window asked if i needed any sauces or anything. I replied just make sure I get fried noodles for my won ton soup. No problem. I get home and guess what was missing? Yep, the noodles. But that is the only bad thing I have to say. I have eaten at the other two places near there, and this is by far the best. Thank goodness! Drive thru window is nice too. I ordered the Garlic Chicken and what a feast! They loaded the container full. Great flavor, and a nice mixture of veggies to go with the chicken. If anything I got TOO much chicken....lol. Would have liked a few more veggies, but this is better than Great Wall where I got the Broccoli Chicken and it was 95% broccoli, or the rubbery chicken at Chopsticks. The yellow rice is different, I may ask if they have white next time. The sauce was very good. Price was good - $8.71 for the chicken and soup. I asked for the meal to be a little spicy and they did it - no problem. No mushrooms - no problem. All in all a great place, and I will go back. Courteous people too. this place has that floppy gross chicken, I ordered the kung poa and the chicken was so rubbery you could almost blow a bubble like chewing gum. the won tons were pretty good, I just dont advise eating at a place that uses cheap meat. read more
