When I visited, it was late afternoon on a Saturday in July. The parking lot was completely full, but we got lucky and were able to grab a spot just as someone left. It was clear that many people had enjoyed activities in the lake earlier in the day (swimming, kayaking, and fishing), due to the state of the restrooms and all of the large amount of sleepy-looking children sitting around. Since we weren't planning to go in the water, I think we arrived at the perfect time of day to enjoy the scenery. The nature trail around the lake was beautiful, especially with all the wildflowers blooming! I'd recommend doing the full trail, which is just 1.2 miles around with approximately 60' elevation gain (more of a walk/stroll than a hike). Seeing all of the different types of wildflowers up close was incredible! If you would prefer to sit and enjoy the views instead of walking around the lake, I'd recommend brining your own chairs, as there were only a few tables and benches scattered around. After enjoying the trail, we drove through the campground and found it to be very pretty. There were lots of large pine trees, allowing for a fair amount of privacy for nearly all of the sites. Tony Grove would be a great stop on the way through Logan Canyon, but is also a destination in itself. Try to visit mid-summer to avoid the snow and catch the wildflowers in full bloom!

Little kids love feeding the ducks and geese or wading in the shallows, while older kids often cliff jump on the south side or off the bridge. Some even canoe and kayak here. They really should have rerouted the roads and expanded this park long ago..bring back the volleyball, add a nice pavilion, bring in loads of sand and expand it to a proper beach. Oh well, I'll enjoy it as is.

Kids under 12 can fish here without a license, but it is usually slow going. These fish have seen it all, they're the survivors. The surrounding park is open, green, clean and peaceful. I wish the pond was cared for the same way. I do like the large dock it has to fish from and the mature shade trees. Though it has it's issues, it is still a very peaceful spot to relax and have a picnic with the kiddies.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Catching the keepers in the main ponds was not much of a fishing challenge, but still fun. They clean the fish for you right on the spot and we came home with a couple of meals for all of us. You could easily catch as many as you want, but for price consideration we stopped at 3 a peice. We brought a fly rod and the three of us shared time fishing the trophy pond, that is catch and release. That was also super fun and more of challenge than the keeper ponds. After fishing we walked around the grounds for a bit which was also nice. I highly recommend a visit.
